So what class / stats build am I looking at for a low-med maintenance melee character? All suggestions gratefully accepted.

This is the entire point of the liberal illuminati. Everything has to be political, especially otherwise inconsequential games that influence the young (they are the nu-Jesuits in this regard). Everything has to point towards their Kafkaesque perception of what constitutes 'social justice' (a nebulous concept in the first place, assuming a very broad set of shared assumptions). It's not a conspiracy per se. I'm not a Dark Enlightenment type who believes in 'The Cathedral.' But it is a knowing, nudge-and-a-wink set of assumptions by a broad range of like-minded people who are very very savvy about how to influence and nudge policy and opinion. Advocacy. Yuk. If you disagree with them then by default you are against them. You might (like me) be fairly socially liberal yet if your values don't mimic theirs you're against them. It's classic Gramscian long-marching by other means. I'm sure some think me even making this post means I'm on the side of those who would troll and harass (I'm not, btw).

Yo Kaftan. 'sup?

So this system.... (gasp) favours min / maxing??? I disappoint.

I think that encounter has been buffed.

Are you sure he sucks? Because if you compair him with BG1 fighters, he will suck by design. Remember when Sawyer said that the wizard power curve (sucks at low levels, reigns at hig levels) is a no go? The other side of that coin is that the fighters power curve (beast at low levels compaired to other characters, sucks in high level) is a no go as well. Yes. He sucks. When he goes to bash stuff up it takes ages and he does hardly any damage. His armour doesn't seem to protect him. He dies quite quickly, pulling a disproportionate amount of aggro. The BB Fighter seems pretty good by comparison. I tried a 2H weapon paladin too, he also sucked. Sorry, this look-how-modish-we-are design isn't fun for me. I so badly want to like this game. It's like going on a date with a woman you find very attractive, only to find out she's pretentious and icy. Edit - oh, and he's 6th level. Where does this power curve kick in, exactly?

* shrugs * I still don't think the system is intuitive. I build a high MIGHT high CON barbarian with a morningstar and he sucks donkey balls in combat. Why?

Issue - after defeating the trolls and mushroom-dudes in the dungeon I am unable to move my party or individual members north to investigate the secret door (hi-lighted mauve after stealth activated on BB Rogue). Have tried toggling skills on and off and using different party members but am unable to move further than the eastern part of the circular walkway around the spoor-pit.

Ha ha ha a feminist with a PhD in playing the Sims.

And people say feminists have a victim complex. Wow. I presume you noticed the bit about him being a polemicist? I think there's a kernel of truth in James's argument. The liberal consensus that permeates most other aspects of popular culture will conquer gaming next.

This forum must radiate a tangible beacon of evil and darkness. An ectoplasmic miasma of suffering and cruelty. Nothing else can explain the number of lawyers it attracts.

I thought some of you might be interested in seeing how this affair is seeping out of the gaming culture bubble, with articles like this popping up in the unlikeliest places: http://www.spectator.co.uk/columnists/james-delingpole/9322382/why-i-love-grand-theft-auto-v-and-the-feminazis-hate-it/ OK, James Delingpole is a polemicist who loves nothing more than getting in the faces of the liberal left (he has his faults - this isn't one of them) but he makes some interesting points as a fresh pair of eyes on this affair. Some quotes from the piece...

Ewe Boll has that quote taped over his bathroom mirror, y'know. -
It's actually quite amusing - the dude is wearing camouflage spookily like the kebab meat block-thing.

I think this argument has a whiff of Godwin's about it - any thread that tries to discuss firearms ownership and the legality thereof hits the sh1tt3r pretty quickly.

And meanwhile, Sega-watchers scratch their heads, wondering why the owner of Relic and CA don't use the Warhammer licence to make a WH strategy game. Love it or loathe it, it would be a slam-dunk of epic proportions.

^ This. Sawyer started his career as a web-monkey / community manager. He's sick to the back teeth of 'us.' On the one hand, I totally see that. On the other, tough. It boils my piss that there's more top-end dope on this project on a paywall protected third-party forum. Sorry, that's just the way I see it as a backer.

I've got Grim Dawn early access - it's a cool game and the class combos are interesting.

This is why Shaun of the Dead is the best zombie movie. In Yank zombie movies everyone has instant access to shotguns, large calibre revolvers and assault weapons. In Brit zombie movies you have to improvise with frisbees and cricket bats, thus upping the tension.

Of course, the Schloss Monte is awash with cash. Only the other day I found a burlap bag full of doubloons down the back of my sofa. The fact is, I tend to spend it all on hookers, vintage cognac and cigars.

Just picked up Van Helsing 2 for half-price when a Steam Token dropped. It's a steal at full-price, TBH, a really funk kooky Steampunk ARPG.

Yes, 'Hilary Clinton' spent many aeons asleep in a vast undersea city not far from Pitcairn Island. Then a rotund Arkansan wandered (drunkenly) into a wood not far from Little Rock, to find a load of hooded cultists chanting. He joined in, as he'd heard about Black Masses and how they usually involve writhing naked chicks. Anyhoo, instead of a dose of LA-style La Veyan Satanism, Bill Clinton (for it was he) helped awaken / summon Hthulu. Bill was drunk and thought the octopi-faced Eldritch horror was kinda hot by local standards. So he married her. He took Hthulu to a plastic surgeon (he removed the tentacles and eye-clusters, replacing them with a pair of spectacles and a spare head he had lying around). Bill, eventually, persuaded her to join the Democrats (mainly to get her out of the house). Hthulu was shocked at the depravity of her new sect, but got used to it. True story, bro. I read it in a newspaper in an American grocery store, the ones they keep at the checkout.
