  1. FFS let the hawt sapphic sex scene go. Some of us like that sort of thing.
  2. GEEKOUT IN TEN SECONDS...
  3. Somewhat. But it is far more geek to have in-depth internet arguments about which elements of a fantasy book were borrowed by a particular fantasy vidyagame. What he said. And denial ain't a river in Egypt.
  4. He's also only got one post, despite posting a fair bit. This is obviously his spetznatz training kicking in.
  5. As regular readers may remember, I served in the Underwater Knife-Fighting Recce Kommando (Kampfgruppe Monte) for five years. Our ability to peel potatoes, polish things (literally anything), shout BANG when we ran out of training ammunition and (of course) hide contraband* from the military cops within four-ton lorries was second to none. Spetnatz? Pah. Pyjama-clad, vodka-dependant GIRLS. *Pr0n mainly, and booze
  6. *shrugs* substitute it for a Chianti or anything French. Except Nikolas Sarkozy, who I imagine tastes unpleasant.
  7. ALERT DANGEROUS LEVELS OF GEEKAGE DETECTED!!!
  8. Hippies. I hope that wind-farm thingie and yurt-dwelling works out for them.
  9. I skin rabbits now and then, it's like pulling a sock off. I'd like to try a bigger animal, butchery is quite an interesting skill. Charles Dance looked like he had done some research for that scene. Monte's rabbit recipe du jour: Saltimbocca. A Northern Italian delicacy, rub garlic, olive oil, lemon, black pepper and rosemary onto a saddle of rabbit. Pan fry in a little butter. Once browned wrap in parma ham / proscuttio (you can keep it in place with a wooden splint) and put in a hot oven to finish for ten minutes. Serve with roast cubetti potatoes and fresh green vegetables and of course a glass of barolo. Prago!
  10. The Black Watch was proud Scottish infantry regiment and there are no kilts in DA2.
  11. It was a gift from the Great Stallion.
  12. Amazing scientific / biology type discovery this weekend - drinking eight pints of Guinness, two bottles of claret and half a bottle of cognac over a fifteen-hour period gives you a headache and upset stomach. Whoda thunkit, science fanz?
  13. Welcome to the forum sir, good to see another paragon of common sense and good taste. Like me.
  14. had something quite similar about a week ago - also have AVG +1
  15. I got off to a very strong start on The Witcher then slowly, and sadly, lost interest. It confirms what I always knew - fixed protagonists kill games for me. The fourth wall is too visible. My gaming time is limited at the moment - I'm not in the mood for forgiveness so TW2 is not on my horizon.
  16. ^ Dunno Morgie, I didn't play it. Then again, I've never watched Jersey Shore and I'm still perfectly confident it's ****.
  17. This 'eyebrow-movement-video-from-Game of Thrones' internet subculture passed me by until now.
  18. I dunno, I think he's an excellent actor and the accent is fine. He's making this series work for me, his story and character are one of the most interesting parts. I'm looking forward to seeing how him and his new merc / bodyguard are going to work out.
  19. You are now unmasked as Volo's alt and I claim my five electrum pieces.
  20. I read about half of that thread. Mike begins with some bull**** bingo before launching into the classic managerial mea culpa of "we'll learn from the mistakes" (mistakes repeatedly pointed out prior to release and during the development cycle) before then explaining why the mistakes are, in fact, innovative. It's good to see that it's not only my own profession where poor decision making is turned into nuanced, cunning victories by folks who won't listen. Then the thread turns into a moderator / developer circle-jerk, with the occasional shill allowed in to make very minor criticisms. The repeated references by fans to TW2, and the mods saying that it's O/T is amusing though. Cheers MC
  21. I've been playing - Medieval Total War 2 Rift ...and I'm downloading the humungous new Company of Heroes patch so I can play the new maps and see what CoHO tweaks they've put into the retail game (I've had a five month fallow period away from CoH). Anybody up for a game let me know.
  22. It was in the fridge.
  23. This game is as dead as disco, please stop talking about it.
  24. I've been off beer for 2.5 weeks, been on a bit of a diet (I've lost 8lbs). Just now I popped the lid on a bottle of ice-cold Red Stripe and took a sip. AAAaaaaaaaahhhhh. That's better. I feel like John Mills in Ice Cold in Alex.
