  1. On the tech versus faith issue, I didn't think about it at the time, but the priestess NPC is armed with the most hi-tech weapon available. Maybe there is a tech-friendly deity?
  2. Dude, I want a PE novelty thumb drive, geeky NPC action figures and a freaking hoodie. They can take my money all day for that stuff. I'm not too proud to admit it.
  3. My understanding is that it's a regular, completely DRM-free GOG product, the same as any other title over there. This game will be available on GOG.
  4. I am most interested in... 1. Tech versus Faith 2. Colonization and brutal exploitation of primitive societies 3. An explanation of developmental synergies without the written word. I don't want 10,000 word essays about all this stuff, just a plausible explanation. The printing press absence issue is huge.
  5. I know shipping and stuff is a pain but.... MERCH. There are lots of third-party online service providers to manage it. I want MERCH.
  6. FWIW for me to move up a level would cost $100. Am willing to do it, but if I'm honest I'm waiting to see a bit more. Have already pledged $150.00.
  7. * Screenshots * Full class / NPC / Playable race list * Maybe a short gameplay video (not essential but would be nice) * Brief overview of gameworld / culture (not plot I hate spoliers) * More concept art, in fact a heck of a lot of concept art --- I'm fairly happy now, but that would make me happier.
  8. Hello. By the time Obsidian made IWD2 they really were squeezing every last drop of functionality out of the Infinity Engine. It was like an episode of McGuyver, but without the bouffant haircuts and centre partings. But, the exercise bore fruit. By having to decant old wine into new bottles, some interesting stuff happened, stuff that we take for granted now but hadn't seen in the IE before. For example, weapon combo slots so you could choose weapon / weapon, weapon / shield configurations. One of the things I really liked, which was totally cosmetic, was the ability to name my party. I don't know why, but having a cool name for my squadron of adventurers was fun. So I'd like to see that put into P:E, maybe along with suffixes based on our deeds. For example, the skills based 'achievements' in NWN2 are a good example... what if we were allowed to port that over into our party name? I know this is completely indulgent, but I think Obsidian are known for gamer-centric touches that are cool... just because they are cool. Hell they are better than 'achievements' in modern games. So when my party, The Desperate Swords, torch a village or rescue a fair maider (etc) we could choose an achievement suffix, or even have the game award one to us, to reflect how the game world views us. FWIW.
  9. I haven't got a clue what any of you are talking about, but wow it sounds sexy.
  10. No, not steampunk. Just a type of fantasy that takes place in a late 15th / early 16th century setting where there might be significant tech / cultural developments (reformation / gunpowder / navigation).
  11. Hi Drake. I'm astonished that folks from Europe (and Britain ) outnumber Americans here. Of course, it might be that the Americans are just too clever to post in this poll.
  12. Hey, I like Switzerland too. I visit the Alps every year.
  13. I usually agree with Jaesun, except when I don't. A kind of not-quite-steampunk would be cool (think Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson). Very high medieval in a fantasy world is cool, imagine musket and cannon armed Conquistador type characters conquering a new world occupied by savage bronze age orc tribes or whatever. That sounds fresh to me.
  14. O/T but hi Pope, long time no see? 'Sup?
  15. Hi Thortxu. That's my understanding, yes. Paypal backers count towards the megadungeon.
  16. I really wished there was a Vancian On / Vancian Off option just to put this whole thing to bed. I wonder if it would cause significant balance issues or would just be too labour intensive?
  17. JWestfall, forgive the instrusion, But I feel your pain, anger and confusion, Just stay right here, it isn't hard, For I will sooth you, I'm the forum Bard! (Male-Voice choir warbles manfully, possibly a hymn)
  18. MReed, I concede as much as I can, That you are the thinking person's Metiman, With your incisive views and old-skool style, I hope you hang around for a while... (Thrash metal interlude)
  19. I like cults. Every decent dungeon needs one. Tom Cruise could be the boss at the bottom level.
