Journalism and sexism in the games industry
No games for one whole day! Such a task must take an incredible amount of willpower. It's *online* games. Also, count me out of it. I am still addicted to Dark Souls 2 and I like to coop the bosses with other players after a hard workday that has me out of the house for 12 hours. I need my chillaxing in the evening at the moment and I'll do it with playin' all em geams, yo. :> #IdontCareBoutYerAllIssues

Well, if even Bethsoft is canning it due to its quality, then it probably was bad.

Is this harrassment ?
A friend of me explained to me that saying "How are you?" and stuff to a woman on the street is the first step to being a rapist. /Edit: I am serious. /Edit²: He also said it is from an "in america" point of view. It's not that extreme in europe / germany.

What are you playing now?
Yeah, approx half an hour ago. Did it with 2 other human players and it was actually pretty easy. *Much* easier than the smelter demon. As far as I can see, the only boss left to kill in that DLC is this samurai dude. In theory he shouldn't be that much of a problem either. Got him down to approx 1/4 of his hitpoints already before he totally pwned me. Will try again tomorrow.

Finally beat the damn smelter demon in the second Dark Souls 2 DLC. It took quite some time, but finally worked out... Only because I found a competent human player. Each of us distracted the boss always when the other had to heal himself. Also we both had good weapons with lightning damage. This way we could get him down reasonable fast. It was good- this is actually when DS2 is the most fun.

I can't watch all of that stupid stuff, but I loved when she said "I had to take a 24 hours Twitter break." OMYGOD 24 hours?! The horror, the horror. Come on, nobody can take this serious.

What are you playing now?
Will see. In any case it was about 10€ and I don't have much of a choice anyway, as it's the only more or less modern console system that I own (that GameCube is a bit old by now). /Edit: Did a fast sweep over Google and it seems most issues have been patched. Well, yay for patches. Let's hope this is true, though.

What are you playing now?
Finished DS2 Crown of the Sunken King. Skipped only one boss fight... the one with the 3 dudes. It's just too hard if you can only rely on stupid ai phantoms. It's not about skill anymore, just pure luck. And it seems to be impossible to find human players in that DLC area (guess it is the least liked of the three?) to help me out in that area. Anyway, started Crown of the Iron King now, let's see how that turns out. So far at least I've found some human players in it... On the other side, I've ordered me a copy of Bayonetta for PS3 now, because Keyrock hyped me...

What are you playing now?
Finished the Darkest of all Souls 2. Endboss actually was not that hard. Then again, I grinded the game like a mofo and ended with level 162... Bought the three DLCs now. Also toyed with the idea of starting a newgame+ ... Probably wouldn't finish the game a second time, though. There are some areas in the game where I really never want to force me through ever again...

Journalism and sexism in the games industry
No, this is not what I meaned. It's obvious that maybe somehow the depression will limit the stuff you do on a daily basis. What I meaned is that the text adventure itself takes over at some point- it robbs the player of all choices and actions. I am not 100% sure right now when exactly this happens, but at some point you just read and press a "continue"-like button to advance until you hit the suicide point (I think it was like that when I tried it back in the days). At this point it is not a game anymore and it's not a good text adventure. Imagine you are playing Metal Gear Solid 4 and then suddenly you watch a 1 hour long briefing cutscene, play for 20 minutes and then a 3 hours long endgame cutscene appears. It's not fun, and IMO it's bad game design.

Cool how you remove everything else from the quote and only point to the end of my post. About Depression Quest, I played it before I even heard the name Zoe Quinn, and while it felt interesting in the beginning, it quickly became more and more bad. You were pretty much railroaded into everything and later you had no choices at all. Also the choices you had in this text adventure felt rather narrow / poor / too simple. I am certain this stuff could have been conveyed much better or in more depth. In the end, this stuff just proves to me that these very loudly speaking feminist game developers (exception is probably Zoe Quinn, because I haven't heard anything about her anymore since a while now) really never did much valuable to the gaming scene at all. If we could get some women folks, who worked on and released more than just one tiny game in their lifes, to speak out about this issue, yeah... that would be great. PS: I am not pro or anti GG. I only care about this stuff from a generic / outside point of view.
