Can anyone here tell me how exactly that thing in front of the Terminator is called? Also, would there be a chance to somewhere find blueprints of these? I am toying with the idea to create a 3d model of it for a game, but I have really no idea how the details are like.

Well, just to catch you up, Halo is a series centered around Master Chef. Master Chef is a phenomenal cook but he has a severe skin condition forcing him to always wear a full helmet to avoid contaminating the food he makes. There is an alien gang called the Covenant, I think they're from Mexico. Anyway, not only did these aliens come across the border illegally and are causing trouble for out law abiding citizens, they also don't much care for Master Chef's most excellent cuisine, causing our hero to have to take matters into his own hands and drive these illegal aliens back across the border. That explains a lot.

Never in my life did I've seen anything of Halo. I mean, really. Didn't even watched gameplay videos. At max some short snippets of a few seconds. This series never interested me at all, probably because it isn't for PC master race.

So you are telling me that something I think is great is not so great? What exactly are you trying to achieve here? I am pointing out that the distance view is *still* really bad. Well, if you like the blurry mess without any shadows and stuff, okay. Best seen on the Freeside sign in New Vegas... this thing looks ugly as hell if you are but three steps away from it (no animated lights, super tiny blurry texture instead). Or the waterjets at Hoover Dam, which don't have a LOD model, as you can't have anything animated in the LOD (and therefore most likely later got deleted in a patch.. it's horrible if the jets are popping up when you are like right in front of it). Skyrim had some nice looking distant mountains with the clouds and such, but that's about it. Everything on the ground is ugly as ever if you are one or two cells away (and this does NOT depend on your graphic settings. You influence the shaders and texture quality and such, but not the amount of cells that are loaded around you. That means, the bad LOD and blurry ground texture always appears at the same distance for everyone- if it's a few more trees or less doesn't really matter, imo).

The long view distance isn't that great. Just check out that screenshot with the Yao Guai- on the hill to the right you can already see a lack of shadow (and therefore most likely also a lack of environment animations and effects), exactly as it was in every other Gamebryo / Creation Engine game.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I googled Cuban woman rolling cigar and the first hit I got was... Well you don't know if she isn't still a virgin.

I am wondering how much that game leak influenced the final sales. Me personally, from the screenshots and videos we had seen till that date, the game was pretty much not interesting at all. But then the leak appeard and BOOM suddenly everyone was talking about DX:HR and the hype became so big, because people suddenly noticed how much it plays like the original and that it is pretty cool.

Now I would love to read this.

Anyone knows some good samurai sword / katana (action) movies? Western, japanese or chinese, doesn't really matter. I remember some old one I've seen years ago. Was about a dude who lost his sword and then pretended to have a sword.. so he fought everyone with his sword sheet only. Or there was a tv show (I think?) with a guy and a child. Wolf something-something. It probably was inspired by a comic or book with the same name. /edit: Just found the second one. It's called "Lone Wolf And Cub: Sword Of Vengeance" and from 1972.

I thought the extended ending was still pretty lame. Didn't they kept the silly colors and just added a bunch of ending slides that (again) don't really change?

Years ago I played X³ *a lot* - had a truckton of money and at least 8 or 9 of these super huge carrier and destroyer ships. I've spend many, many hours on that savegame, though. Time I could never bring up again today. I love the game, but it's just too slow for my taste now. Also the interface / controls are so, so bad.

Sorry but the beta gameplay looked horrible and boring. Never trust the trailers. :> Man, I really want a *good* tactical FPS game again... singleplayer and coop. Like SWAT, just even better... meh.

So what, there is only so much you can do with Gamebryo before the heart of a console dies in ultimate pain. The Strip still is bigger than the biggest populated location in all of Fallout 3. Hell, even Freeside or North Vegas is.

I read this a lot, and everytime I can't do anything but shake my head. Why the hell everyone thinks Bethesda is a pro at world building? They are not. Just look at Fallout 3 and what the game world is. Raiders around every corner, towns with 3 houses, people don't grow food or anything, everything works by Rule of Cool. This sh*t is not related to story and characters at all. The gameworld is lots of bull. Yes, New Vegas looks a lot more empty than Fo3, but look at this: 1. It's set in a damn desert. There is only so much you can do with sand. 2. Obsidian had to remove a truckton of objects for free space on consoles, so the DLCs would work. Cass and 4 of 5 DLCs?

This "Gaming then vs now" is so old by now, we should make a "'gaming then vs now' then vs now" image. PS: As far as I am aware, only very few games are being sold with "the meat" of it coming in form of DLCs. Not even Rome 2 would fullfill this analogy, because despite most of that games DLCs being lolzy, the main game still had been very much feature-complete.

What's a secret about it? The expansion pass has been announced already before release.
