  1. Yikes. It's pretty clear that the publisher arm of Bethesda (Zenimax) sucks. There had been bad stories about Zenimax already back in the days when Fallout 3 was in development (not Fo3 related, though). Though everyone said Fallout fans are but haters. :>
  2. Sure, I'll send you the link to the file via pm.
  3. Over a year since I've created this thread, and now the time has come where I must revive it. Also I've made good experiences here on the forum, so that helps as well. My current mod project is in the fine tuning- and tweaking-phase right now, which also means... I could really use the help of one or two proofreader again. So what is this about? As the one or the other might have noticed, I've spend the past months working on a short campaign for Armed Assault 3. Right now, this thing is completely playable and basically has all the features it needs. Currently I am pretty much only fixing bugs and try to make everything as good as I possibly can. This project has a bit more text than my New Vegas mod from last year (still *not* a book, though). I tried to keep my shait at a reasonable length, because I am aware of my shortcomings as a writer (I suck), and most importantly, I am planning to get a few voice actors again... which probably will be much harder this time, as they will need to speak in Farsi (Persian) most of the time. For that to work out well, I'll have to let all dialogue get translated into that language first... which makes the proofreading even more important. Actually, beside proofreading, I also wouldn't mind a little bit of editing here and there (like mentioned, I don't think my writing is necessarily very compelling). I am not going to make any money with this project (in fact, my first calculations imply that I will have to spend quite a few bucks on it), but because it has to feel as good and as polished as possible to me, I am willing to pay some money for this job. Don't get me wrong- I am not rich.. it probably won't be a lot, and certainly not up to industry standard.. but hey, like I wrote above already... I want this thing to turn out as good as I can get it to be. Anyone around who might be interested in helping out? The text is in a Google Sheets file (super easy to work with + version history). In total it's about 650 lines, I would say. Maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. Experience with some military bullshait talk would be fancy, but isn't necessary.
  4. Yeah, but he doesn't shoot the blades at people in HR. /Edit: And the blades don't explode.
  5. So does the game still feel like Human Revolution? All the previews completely turned me off, because of all this super-super high tech and big weapons and crap. It looked like Jensen suddenly could grow knifes out of his arm, and they even explode, etc. really felt a tad too much to me, tbh.
  6. I like how in this terror attack, Erdogan immediately blamed the IS, while when non-kurdish people get killed in a terror attack, it was obviously done by kurds.
  7. Aren't praxis kits the stuff you unlock skills with? If so, I've already read that the game is giving you more than enough of them, basically making the choice of which skills to activate kinda unimportant.
  8. Looks cheesy as hell. For Gothic and Risen it kinda still worked. But now? I dunno... It's funny, though, 10 or what years ago I was toying around with the idea to make a Gothic mod set in some kind of Highlander-like post apocalyptic world. It was set in a big old fortified skyscraper. People were using swords and bows and stuff. Hot air balloons in the sky, etc. I still like the idea, but today it's nothing fancy anymore.
  9. Just watched the Star Citizen livestream from the gamescom. Was pretty good.
  10. Heh, now you can exactly see how the lowest LOD models look like. Normally it would be so tiny, you never would see details anyway. You should make ArmA3 screenshots, by the way. This game has some gorgeous views.
  11. Wow everyone, look at this turd.
  12. Still doing my arma3 stuff. Yesterday was spend on moving all my text stuff from XML files to a google docs file. I am now using a script which creates a new XML file based on the content in the web tables. This is awesome, because: It is easier to work with, easier to keep track of all changes (version history), now multiple people can work on the files at once, which makes proof reading, translating and moving the files back into the game (export) a much faster and better experience. All in all... I should have gone this step already way earlier than now. :itsawesome:
  13. Out of curiosity... It says you can't die, but nowhere in the contract it says you can't feel the same someone feels when he dies. What I mean is... Imagine you are immortal and the sun goes supernova, earth gets destroyed and now what... You burn and kinda explode on earth and then hang out in a vacuum, unable to breath... But you don't die. Isn't that kind of... You now... ****ty? Someone should make a movie about that. Unconscious body floating in space until it accidentally falls down on another earth like planet, billions of years in the future, where the body gets air again and "wakes up".
  14. I was surprised how bad these Resident Evil movies became and *still* they were able to make more of them.
  15. I've played a few of the Telltale games, but for me it's not the same. Guess to a big part it was also this lol-emo and hipster stuff in Life is Strange. :> Especially the music. Borderlands isn't really my thing. Guess the first game totally burned me out on the setting. If it can be played with gamepad, I'll check out The Longest Journey.
  16. Life is Strange was the first game I've seriously played from PC on my TV with gamepad. Actually liked it a lot because of this. I've seen it more like a tv show where I can run around a bit by myself and stuff, while sitting / lying on the couch. Most likely would have never finished it with sitting at my desktop. Would have liked more games / stories like this, but couldn't find anything that gave me the same feels. Apparently the developers are now working on some action whatever vampire game, which I do not care about at all. What a shame.
  17. Would love to play some X3 again, but it's just too much a time waster, imo. If you want the really good stuff, you'll have to sink in a lot time.
  18. Haven't played any other game than arma3 the past two or what months. Still working on my mini-campaign that is shaping up quite nicely. Right now it looks like this could be the first arms campaign that I really will be able to release. Gonna shoot for the best quality I can possibly deliver, though, which basically means, I'll have to pay up for some good voice over. Only problem is... Gonna need Farsi speaking people. Well, that will become a challenge.
  19. It is kind of more true to the original, which was top down only. Still, the way it is in W2 just makes you feel like you can't see anything at all, because you can't zoom out far enough.
  20. Does anyone really care for Bard's Tale 4, though? If I remember right, the KS barely made it and so far I've read nobody anywhere write anything about it.
  21. Yeah, I only wanted to read stories about Geralt, so everything else didn't really interest me so much either. They aren't badly written or something, but Geralt is what brought me into it and not necessarily the world and its politics, which the "real books" deal a lot more with. /Edit: I mean these small excerpts out of the witchers lives. That was what made it so great for me. Doesn't necessarily have to be purely about Geralt, though.
  22. I like them the most as well. Read through them a few times already.
  23. Watched some people playing it... Looked boring. Really not a fan of pointless "exploring" games. What worth is a big game world if you only ever do the same grind.
  24. Yeah, I better don't browse this thread on my mobile phone now. :>
