HBO Game of Thrones Season 6!
Btw. funny how the attack of the masters accidentally happened shortly before our never-learing-queen-of-dragons arrived with her army. Especially funny considering if the masters had not attacked before, she probably would have fkd everything or at least something up on her own, with her new shiny army and zero gained knowledge in anything. It was basically a writers ploy to get out of the "peace for years situation", which they would have fallen into. I mean, all in all the episode was entertaining to watch. It's just these very stupid moments they *have* to add into every episode now. Almost as if they are doing this on purpose.

What are you playing right now?
Played Blood Dragon for about 5 minutes, then quit and never touched it again. I really hate "the feeling" of these Ubisoft shooter (FarCry, etc). Don't know what exactly it is... they just feel weird. The movement, the gunplay, no idea.

Movies You've Seen Recently Thread
Watched Deadpool yesterday and wow... This was bad. Only funny scene was the one with Ikea, imo. Rest of the movie I was sitting there like | I don't get why everyone praised this movie so hard. Most of the time I just thought "man, can he shut the f up for once??" don't know, maybe I am getting too old and kids love this kind of stuff. Now that I think about it, maybe only the kids praised the movie so hard? After all, it's the internet and we never really know how old someone is. Or it was nothing but well done marketing on websites like imgur and 9gag.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
For me the best example was in Dragon's Dogma - I spent hours just wandering the wilderness and finding what was there in the day, then at night and even once I knew, sometimes I'd just go wander again because I enjoyed the combat and the locations. Maybe I simply see games in "other ways". Because when I wander around in such an open world and see - for example - two NPCs chatting, then I don't see two NPCs chatting, but a tiny scripted event that always will be the same. Or when I see a group of bandits in a cave, then I see mere mobs placed there trying to entertain me with loot and combat. I can really feel walking into a simple trigger as soon as something happens around me. It's the same to me for every open world game, even in Witcher 3, which I otherwise find to be a great game.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Imo the problem with current "open world" games is that they are nothing but a big game world with random foes around every corner and dumb fetch quests that send you over half the map. Except for that, the game world is actually pretty empty. Let's take The Division for example. If you remove the missions from that game, you'll have a huge empty city in which you can walk around... and randomly shoot some pointless stuff. Sure the graphics are nice and there are some well done ambient animations with civilians, but other than that, the city offers really nothing at all. Even stuff like GTA 5 is the same, except for a few minigames here and there. I mean, does anyone boot up such a game and then think "man, I am so damn immersed in this huge city!111" ? For me it's usually... "ok, let's open the map. I am here, quest markers are there... let's go." and then I follow the dotted line on the minimap, usually not even watching what's going on around my player character. (This is how I spend time in Witcher 3. Honestly, at some point I've noticed that I am more focused on following the line on the minimap than anything else)

All new ArmA3 Apex content (except campaign) can be checked out in a new steam beta branch. Also release date is July 11th, which is awesome because it's in my vacation time.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
PC Gaming Show life stream is running right now. Watching it since over half an hour and so far I have yet to see a game that would interest me. Either all games are the same boring crap or people are just bad at making good trailers. Not exactly sure about it. The new Mount & Blade was the best looking one so far, imo. Also, in approx 10 minutes some new stuff from ArmA3's Apex expansion should be shown. That's basically the only reason why I am forcing myself through this.

Afaik Avellone is working on this prey game. So basically Avellone works for Bethesda now, or at least zenimax. Lel.

Star Citizen
Gotta pull up that thread. PTU 2.4 is out now. Have to say that - despite the million bugs - it already feels like a real game now. They also added the first huge multi-crew ship which is... huge. You can really get lost in its corridor system.

Gawker found guilty in Hogan Case
What if the Lawrence video is embarrassing for her too. Who are you to judge what is embarrassing for people and what is not?

What are you playing right now?
Damn. So I could as well just have finished the main quest and therefore saved the grind of leveling up. Oh well, gonna stop with Blood and Wine then and wrap up that stuff first.

What are you playing right now?
Can you continue the game after finishing the main story? I was under the impression that I should do the DLCs before the main story ends, because... it would end the game.

What are you playing right now?
..and all this from borrowing your friends game for a few hours a couple of months back. You probably have a very low standard in games if you can't see such flaws in but a few hours of playtime. Besides, there are more than enough comments from other players about the same issues.

I don't think "a few tweaks" are what would save Fo4. This game requires a total overhaul, starting with the horrible interface (perk screen wtf), the way dialogue works (always repeating lines, no choice at all), and this total Borderlands-feel, which - in my opinion - is highly unsuitable for a Fallout game (the way quests work, respawning loot dungeons and what not else). Eh, I also really can't stand this humanoid android theme and the lack of any real roleplaying, but that again is a matter of taste, I'll guess. By now I think Fo3 is a better Fallout game than Fo4, and that really shows a lot....

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [2015]
This Gaunter 'o Dimm in Hearts of Stone reminds me a lot of the man in black from Stephen King's Dark Tower. The names are similar, the behavior, the tricks and even the way he talks is how I imagined him. Heh, had this impression right from the start and now that I am uncovering his background, it's really awful similar.

Skyrim had some nice atmosphere and environment, which made the game kinda fun despite it being a horrible rpg. Mods helped too, of course. Can't say the same about Fallout 4, personally. It's the biggest Bethesda turd since Oblivion, imo and not even power armor can save that.

Torment: Tides of Numero Uno
I totally forgot this game exists. Also now that I've remembered, I also remember Avellone was writing a novella about Wasteland 2- did they ever release this thing? /Edit: Last news about it was 2 years ago.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
The trailer is well done, imo. The game probably won't be, though. :> /Edit: About skin colour- I never really cared about such stuff in games. If nobody would write about this, I'd probably never even think about it. Like, if Geralt would have been black since the beginning, I would still play the games. Or that one GTA game with a black character- if I remember right, it's one of the most popular GTA games. I'd say people are too fast blaming failure of games on such stuff, while it probably failed more likely due to bad gameplay.

Total War: Warhammer
Ah, Total War. Some things never change. When I played the Gaul campaign for Rome 2, at some point I reached a state where every ai had the maximum amount of spy and hero agents, and they were all harassing my cities. Every turn I had to spend all my money on removing / stopping / converting them. I've had to work more with the agents than with actual army and combat. It became so annoying that I've downloaded a mod that stopped the enemy agent spam, which drastically increased the gaming experience for me...
