Plodding along in JA:BIA. Trying to keep a hold of Cambria sure is a pain, kind of a stumbling block for me in the game. So I guess I'll give it a rest and return to some Civ V.
Signal-to-noise ratio (often abbreviated SNR or S/N) is a measure used in science and engineering that compares the level of a desired signal to the level of background noise. It is defined as the ratio of signal power to the noise power. A ratio higher than 1:1 indicates more signal than noise. While SNR is commonly quoted for electrical signals, it can be applied to any form of signal (such as isotope levels in an ice core or biochemical signaling between cells).
Signal-to-noise ratio is sometimes used informally to refer to the ratio of useful information to false or irrelevant data in a conversation or exchange. For example, in online discussion forums and other online communities, off-topic posts and spam are regarded as "noise" that interferes with the "signal" of appropriate discussion.

Serves me right for watching it before posting!
Heh fitting choice of music, Two Steps From Hell's 'Protectors of the Earth'. For some reason the guy saying "give them hell" made me think of Makarov.
Well you've read two of the better ones. Bad habit of myself I suppose, start on some media series then I have to finish it. At least the books aren't too pricey.
Horus Heresy series. Which is is just really Warhammer 30k as they've not really moved along the heresy path that much over the books (I think we're up to post-Istvaan V and Calth?), but still have found most to be an entertaining bit of pulp reading.
Well, the people responding to him really did the derailing, when you think about it. Oh well. Was funny to comment on those spoilers Tale had at work, managed to annoy 2 coworkers that way. Mind you one was upset at being told "the Reapers die", hmm.
That was from the blog you linked, doesn't seem like a spoiler. And in a situation like that, it does seem both merciful and sensible to incinerate the colonist with orbital fire - Reapers don't get to use them and they don't have to endure being used.
Skip Moxxi, really, cool character but endless horde mode type fights weren't all that fun in my estimation. Knoxx was a fun romp, the last boss is a bit easy but there's always Crawmerax
Hm, so Shepard dies doing it, Shepard lives but BFFs die, Shepard and BFFs live and then have a "exitus acta probat" moment ?
Well, time to hunt down spoilers - speaking of which, possibly, this video is rather curious -
Damn auto embedding.
