Well those fans aren't getting any return, just a product paid for in advance. Not seeing that as pirate safe, although if the games are mostly DRM free, no cracking required.

Hm, I dunno about pirate groups responding faster, as they are dependent on the publisher to release fixes (as far I know, the idea of a scene patch is rather funny). Caring about the product, heh, well maybe - if the release doesn't work as well as another group that's embarassing etc. It's useful for stripping DRM from your bought games if they're acting up or just bothering you somehow, I'm ok with that.

Could be both, really. If it doesn't sell well, you could blame piracy for it or your game could have been garbage. Although I'd imagine companies would be more inclined to suggest the former, heh.

Different from not working at all. Odd that there's no backup service so you're not locked out of a single player game due to planned or unplanned outages. Cracking a game you paid for doesn't really seem like stealing in any sense, either.

Especially in key battles in wars, you do get an appreciation for what a knife egde the leaders dance on.

Haha, that's pretty rich. Not so sure on describing it as counterfeiting, it might well work as they do recompile the files with slight changes and so on. And sometimes they try to pass it off as the real deal (who's dumb enough to believe some Chinese store is selling games 80% cheaper than everywhere else I'm not sure).

Was going at the idea that stealing decrements the amount they have. Not really the case with pirating the game, and is a bit different than slating him as a mugger. Although, I suppose you could consider stealing as getting something for nothing, so may be. The raging on this is always cute though.
