Playing SOASE a lot with friends, one guy is far, far from us and is getting whacked so is kind of tense to send relief and not get overrun at home. Also went back to WoW, just to see an old guildmate, kind of funny for our 120 person guild to just have us as the active guys.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving
Malcador replied to alanschu's topic in Way Off-Topic
Well that problem is one that has to be done on a case by case basis. The photo changing is a subtle way of honouring the dead person as some random internet contact won't immediately know what is up, as opposed to an actual text post to that fact. I get both approaches. Grieving is a problem for me mainly as I have trouble actually doing it. -
Re-reading Starship Troopers as for some reason I watched the movie last night, and generally avoiding thinking about having to go into work tomorrow. Another resignation, but we might have a new hire. Something about him bothers me, but eh.

Things people get upset over. Didn't recall that the Maya died out from ways other than European steel though.

Well, at least we'd get 200 years of glory that way....

What's wrong with that joke ? They didn't see their conquerors coming, etc. har har. About as funny as most stuff here.

Can we make fun of Britain next?

What was up with the body count in that movie though? They spent years not hitting anything then all of a sudden it's like Vietnam. The shuttle scene is the best, with Ironhide getting shot at point blank, the close up of Prowl dying.

And we don't know if he even did use chemical weapons.

Looks like team morale is finally shattered at work, sure makes for a boring work day when everyone's overcome with apathy.

And what evidence for Assad doing it has been presented as of now ? It's not that crazy to see yet another bunch of inept rebels trying to sucker the West into being their air support.

I'd have locked him in the room. Probably better I am not a parent.

It's something the console untermensch enjoy, I think.

Sounds like here. Our IT is in the US and is ineffectual.

Don't want things accidentally bombed, after all. Also I guess it plays well at home to make a show of that - standing up to the West or something along those lines.

Watching Transformers again, because...I don't know. Still love the attack on the shuttle, the music coming to a screaming finish just as Ironhide gets shot at point blank range -- priceless.

Which is odd, I guess they figure the appeal will be too limited. Still, Deathwatch would work. See interesting worlds, be a walking death machine, etc.

That make me laugh. "He had 'stache hairs like daggers...." Aw, sorry to hear about that LC. Never easy.

University was fun looking back, at the time it felt like agony with the course load and such. But the studying all night or working on a compilers project from 2 pm to 8 am I do miss. Couldn't be assed to work that hours for my job but would willingly do it for myself. That stretch in winter 2005 when I didn't see the sun for 2 weeks, came out and saw it at last and acted like I was high is also memorable.

I suppose bombing both sides is not an option.

Tiny Tina's DLC was fun. She is a terrible DM though. That last boss fight was so much effort for pretty much not much reward for the 3 of us as well.
