Not really, though, the invading force did break the old regime, cause a fair amount of chaos. So it is somewhat a contributing factor to some of this, amongst others. -

10 years is too long to bring up an invasion, after all. -
Bought a new fan, it works well and oscillates. Not really worth the price tag I suppose, but it is rather quiet.
