  2. Took 14 months to build (at least a 2 lane span of) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Pontchartrain_Causeway And that's a much longer bridge. Can't really assume some sort of linear relationship for construction time and bridge length, but doesn't seem too unreasonable. Design, planning and so on probably takes longer. That said damage from a truck bomb and rail fire isn't really something to chalk up as "easy".
  3. Back home at last and back to work, at least flight home was fun. Hearing United preboard veterans with a call for applause was something.
  4. Sort of strange how the West must respond to these airstrikes, they did them before so not like it's some unprecedented escalation, fainting spells about infrastructure strikes aside - if reciprocity is ok, then the initial act wasn't all that heinous, surely.
  5. Flip the sides and those people will overflow with righteousness. I disagree that if someone dehumanizes or generalizes Russians that its the fault of the RuAF or whatever, you are in charge of yourself.
  6. Is interesting to see how things get parsed depending on the side. Read someone that said if they set up a driver to die, that was legitimate somehow.
  7. Слава в Железнодорожные войска ВС России I guess
  8. Russian media says truck bomb, apparently. 6 week repair job. So guess it was the god like Ukrainians.
  9. Kerch bridge had a fire that damaged it, big squeeze on logistics for sure. Although they are setting up ferries. Probably is just an accident I think
  10. It does look interesting, at least there is a demo
  11. It means Ukraine needs more free stuff. At least they didn't blow up any White Swans, too beautiful to blow up those.
  12. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/06/world/europe/ukraine-private-arms-deals.html Time to become a gunrunner
  13. Whatever Hadar is, may it be a service based game that is well monetized.
  14. Probably just a slip of the tongue. Not a big deal in any case, if a NATO state official said that that'd be a bit brow raising.
  15. https://en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/863548.html "Preemptive strikes are needed so that they know what awaits them if they use nuclear weapons. Not the other way around, waiting for Russia's nuclear strikes and then saying, 'oh, you've done that, then get this,' "
  16. That is what we would be funny about it. Governments being hypocrites, ZOMG.
  17. Would be fun to see how that would differ from the open vote.

  19. Wait, people try do that stealthily ?
  20. Getting ready to go to Texas for funeral. With luck won't get COVID from this trip (not for myself but family are all vulnerable).
  21. Not too surprising from what everyone's spoken of. Shame it didn't hit the ground running better.
