  1. Come on, he can't be THAT bad, surely.

Well started Blindness. There's no punctuation and the entire thing is a stream of consciousness but it's not too bad. As for that link...wow. Just...wow.
  3. Client site isn't so bad, it's a 'Green' building. But one thing they've done is interesting, on the east and west sides of the building (floor to ceiling windows all around) there are shades that apparently are controlled by a computer. So based on where sunlight's hitting the building the shades lower to match it. Generally it works, although sometimes it lowers due reflections off of a nearby building's windows and ends up not really blocking any direct sunlight.

Don't bother with Endymion. Didn't enjoy those books at all, the main character was pretty irritating. Read Virtual Light by Gibson, simple plot, but the world he fleshes out is pretty interesting, decent light reading. Now I can either read Blindness or Green Mars.
  5. Wow, that is good news.
  6. People like fast paced action, I guess.
  7. What, it's the reality of the Working Man. God I hate Rush.
  8. Whoops, yeah I'm wrong about that. Well at least I think I am, never really remember the difference, heh.
  9. It's low fantasy, no ? Combat looks decent, on paper at least. Lack of manual save is a bit strange.
  10. Lucky for me the games with the "strongest" DRM aren't ones I really care to play.
  11. Always glad due to my crap eyesight and using crappy hardware for way too long, I don't notice all these graphical flaws , heh. Playing Syberia still. Story is enjoyable, only complaint about it is the necessity of moving through lots of irrelevant (yet good looking) scenery too often but maybe I'm jus being fussy. Also got a nasty crashing bug in Barrockstadt.
  12. Just avoid England, you'll be fine
  13. Not if he dies in 5 or 10 years. Never know, man. My aunt continually depresses me with that, I'll say how work is a bit tedious, then she'll mention "Well, you've only got 40 more years...". Hah. Found out one of my aunts has breast cancer, second relative in as many years to have it, so need to take my manager hostage to get time off for that. Why can't it be my **** relatives that get cancer ?
  14. Canadians' reaction to that debate, and all "I dun wanna election!!" whining further confirms my suspicion that the people in this country are twice as stupid as the Americans they enjoy ridiculing. No UBB question, sadly, but I like Duceppe's zingers - beautiful as he doesn't care about English Canada so he can show up, be a **** to the PM
  15. Because those people are insane ?
  16. Nope, mentioned in one of the previews, Gamespot's I believe. Damn dragons.
  17. Some people allege we got he transistor from it.
  18. I just wish we got the day off like you guys. Old coworker is annoyed at the damage that "needless" holiday will do the the British economy.
  19. Forgot how easy the White Book is to read, too tired to do the problems in anything beyond pseudocode. Maybe I'll do that tonight. How do thoee "for game developer" books differ from a normal book teaching advanced concepts ?
  20. C might be the next one I learn; got any book recommendations? How can you learn C AFTER any language ? Hehe. Read the White Book - http://www.amazon.com/Programming-Language...n/dp/0131103628 Or just hit up any tutorials on it. I had a boring day, so deciding to do some C exercises to make myself feel stupid.
  21. Hmph, plebeian.
  22. Syberia is pretty fun so far. Still in the first zone. The dialogue can be a bit broken if you do things differently than the way the designer thought you would, but not a big deal.
