Probably story and setting. Maybe the scale of whatever threat is coming the way of the White March, as he compared it to the relatively low stakes of part 1.
-
Sawyer implied that part 2 of the White March might get a little bit on the crazy side, so I'm curious to see that happen. Although I guess that simply focusing a little bit more on the Vithrak might be enough to fulfill the "crazy" part.

To the contrary, I would say that Skaen makes sense only as a manufactured god. His portfolio is too narrow and too specific otherwise. Remember, he's not the god of revolution and change, but the god of violent rebellion and secret hatred. It feels like the Engwythian realized that even though they wanted a society with clear social separations and a powerful leading caste, they also needed something to make sure that those in power didn't abuse it, sparkling a desire for change and justice. Enter Skaen, a god so cruel and brutal that only the very, very downtrotted and oppressed would dare call for his help. The guy sacrifices the most determined of his followers in exchange for his help, ensuring that the movement can't go much farther than horrible revenge against those who hurt them.

I don't understand why you would want to drop Twin Elms though. I felt like the writers really got to use the specificities of the PoE setting in it, when Defiance Bay felt like something we had already seen a thousand times before. The thing about leaders having their souls scanned before being elected was used much better in the Vela quest than in the explanation for the Duc's election! What's so jarring about Dracogen and its barkeeper? And speaking of inns, does the Wailing Banshee ever get its rooms repaired? And yeah, count me in for hoping that they dial back the Kickstarter stretch goals for the sequel. Although as it is, a lot of the stretch goals really couldn't be used for a sequel, especially the ones about the playable races and classes. Why not? In my opinion, BG2 is up there with Commandos 2 in the realm of sequels that did everything better than their predecessor.

Here is the link to the reddit thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/3xs3k0/interview_with_je_sawyer_coming_up_for_our_gaming/ Apparently there is also a facebook thing, but I don't know how to find it.

I think the three classes that need to be reworked for PoE 2 are the priests, druids and chanters. The priests and druids need some more limitations on their spellcasting, like the wizard with their grimoires. Adam Brennecke already expressed his belief that options for those two classes in each given were too damn numerous, so I think a revamp will happen. As for the Chanter, it really needs more class-specific talents, as they're really short on those at the moment.

Is that what the ghost of the priest and the hidden door are about on level 13? I went through the 8th level of Caed Nua before doing any of the Leaden Key's quests and the guy attacked me when we couldn't understand each other, so I never got anything from him (aside from his armor). Nah, I'm sure that any future plot for PoE will involve Skaen somehow. Between the creation of what seems to be his first organized clergy in Dyrford (lead by an educated man, probably part of the scientific elite), the hints in the Collector's Book that the Quiet Slave might one day choose a side in a major international conflict and his apparently non-sensical demand to re-power Woedica, I think the old man might be up to something really, really bad.

Protection spells in PoE are good but the lack of contingencies and pre-buffing means that you need to spend time at the beginning of every battle to set them up. As far as weapons and armor restrictions for classes, I really don't want hard-set limitations but I would really like it if it was made crystal-clear that martial classes are extremely advantaged when it comes to their mastery. You want a muscle wizard badly? You can make one, but he would have to sacrifice some of his arcane might and will never be as good as a figther when it comes to weapons and armor. I don't know... maybe re-introduce specializations for singular weapons and restrict the grouped ones to martial classes? Create generic talents to reduce the disadvantages of weaing armor and have fighters get them for free, plus a high-end one that they're the only ones to get?

He's the only Dunryd Row member to have survived Thaos' assault. I have hopes for the sequel!

Shame on you, Obsidian.

Why not? For 10$, You get Psychonauts and if Psychonauts 2 turns out well, the warm feeling that you know you helped that game get funded! -

People should be wise to support the Fig campaign for Psychonauts 2 then, because the lowest bid still grants you a digital version of Psychonauts 1. -
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the process was similar, even if it seems obvious that the dragon was still far from being as powerful as the gods. Plus, now that she inhabits the body of a human, it's even hard to say that she is a "dragon" anymore, she feels like something else entirely. To be honest, I think that's another reason why Thaos stayed behind to lead the Leaden Key, cripple animancy and make sure that the secrets of the gods were preserved : if it came out that the gods were artificial, created by kith through animancy, some jackass was bound to try and use the same process to give him/herself the power of a god.

1) What is the alternate universe (in which you are living) where that statement is true? 2) Yep, they definitely went back on that one. 3) I don't really think they tried. Obviously it wasn't a priority feature. 4) They definitely took on more than they could chew with that one. 5) Yep, too bad that those weren't in! 6) Do you see temples and the like used as hospitals? Magic doesn't have the ability to cure disease or grave injuries, that is still true.

Barbarian Companion?

The initial report was in an official press release. Where do you think Gamasutra took its intel? -
The problem with Chris's work in PoE is that it felt like he recycled stuff. Namely, Durance and the Grieving Mother felt like Kreia split in two. And to blame someone else, namely the directors and producers, someone should have realized how wordy his characters were compared to the others and asked him to tone it down a little... at least for Durance, as GM's way of communicating is very interesting and warrant something different than regular prose. And as he said himself in one interview, it sometimes feel like he's gotten too comfortable writing dark and broken settings and characters and has trouble getting out of that comfort zone.
-
I guess the difference is that ASOIAF feels dark and hopeless at all times, whereas PoE feels hopeless because they are in the middle of a very grave crisis, the kind of which I don't think we've never seen in the real world. Seriously, was there ever a plague which targeted only children while leaving adults alone?

Mystery Offering

Cespenar and Cromwell don't really qualify as "crafting" for me, it's just delayed looting. Maybe that the enchanting system in Mask of the Betrayer should be the way to go : relatively few ingredients in order to create a variety of generic effects, with the odd very rare ingredient to create specific powerful effects.
