  1. What instant change? She's kidnapped by Malak and "persuaded" to flip. Her existing character flaws, mainly pride, make it possible. The persuasion takes a day. She probably holds the record for the most easily corruptible paladin ever. The entire setup is absurd. A day? How do you figure that? I'm pretty sure it's implied it takes a considerable amount of time, you explore a couple more planets before you see her again. And easily corruptible? Like I said, she has character flaws to start with, and anyone will break under torture eventually, known fact.
  2. I'm just glad Buchanan was able to take time out of his busy schedule defending hitler to predict the coming doom of our country.
  3. Because people get really pissed when someone tries to take away their identity, and shove their own values down their throats. Having said that, I think the guys in Tampa are being unnecessarily "in your face" confrontational, it doesn't hurt to take other people's sensitivities into account.
  4. I don't want anything to do with the government because government sucks and I hate it. If they want to provide free healthcare for those who can't afford it, then whatever, but stay the **** out of my business.

  6. Full body condom. And a paper bag for her head of course.
  7. Sometimes it's obvious what you'll be fighting, but a lot of the time there's no way to tell at all, especially when you run into enemies you haven't seen before. Of course choosing spells to buy always has that problem, you really don't know what the game is going to emphasize unless you've already played it. The right way to do it is to select the gameplay depending on which abilities you have, but very few games bother to do that.
  8. I wish they'd hurry up with the damn vaccine.
  9. It's a reaction to the removal of the confederate flag from public places. You don't understand southern culture at all, it has nothing to do with slavery, it's "us against the yankees", kind of "red states/blue states". My high shool is still called "The Rebels", they may not use the confederate flag anymore but they did when I went there in the 80's, and the mascot was "Johnny Reb".
  10. I recommend James Michener's "Tales of the South Pacific"
  11. The confederate flag is perceived completely differently by white southerners and by blacks. To whites it's a symbol of southern pride and history, to blacks a symbol of racism. Whites perceive the campaign to remove the flag from all public places as a slap in the face and react accordingly, blacks see any attempt to fly the flag as a slap in the face.
  12. None of the solutions proposed will do anything to control cost increases the way I understand it.
  13. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...oryId=112530364 Edit: Apparently you can see the story on Gawker
  14. Not a thing we can do about it anyway. Plus you'd probably get better treatment from Obama by being an enemy instead of an ally. This is not any political debate, this is a criminal law matter involving the murder of 180 Americans that the FBI spent huge amount of resources investigating, and there was an understanding reached with the British/Scots. Besides, I'm sure he got higher level approval before he sent the letter.
  15. Killzone 2 developer is owned by Sony. There's no question 360 is easier to develop for, and with a larger installed base (yes, even in Europe) it's still the lead platform most of the time. It's true that it's easier to port from PS3 to 360, since the PS3 can't handle 360 ports without a lot of optimization for its screwy architecture, but for practical reasons most ports are still from 360 to PS3.
  16. Unless you want PS3 exclusives or Blu-ray or included Wi-Fi, most multiplatform games are currently developed for 360 as the lead platform and thus run better on it. Wii is the spawn of the devil. Edit: You should find out which consoles your son's friends have, kids tend to mostly play on-line with their friends.
  17. Yeah, wrong platform for this kind of game, I predict it'll bomb spectacularly. The game itself coud be cool though.
  18. Without the cleric, you're going to miss out on her ragging on the other party members and her catfights with Rhianna, one of which was hilarious.
  19. It's a little known fact that THEDAS has 1/2 the gravity of earth, thus everything is bigger. Don't really see a problem with the way weapons look, it's a manly game.
  20. Even if the conviction were overturned, that doesn't necessarily follow. I think what's at stake here is proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. After all, Lybia did admit responsibility and paid compensation, and they clearly bought those timers to make bombs, and there's other circumstantial evidence implicating Megrahi, although some of it may not be used in court or not be strong enough to eliminate reasonable doubt.
  21. I would say an action RPG is where combat depends on player reflexes, but others define it differently.
  22. There was indeed a problem with the guy who identified the timer fragment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Thurman so I guess these doubts aren't baseless after all.
  23. The case of the circuit board fragment is certainly complicated, and it's hard to figure out which info can be trusted. Apparently the court didn't consider any of the MEBO employees reliable witnesses. Wikipedia has a good overview of MEBO, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mebo with some good links, I especially found this one interesting: http://www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/VOLUME...ald020101.shtml For a write up of the case, see this: http://books.google.com/books?id=BOZszeDjn...;q=&f=false search for all instances of MST-13 to get a brief outline.
  24. A button is used to get in and out of cover: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/mass-effect-2-hands-on
  25. you I think, did not understand the point of this thread. you nominated a game that virtually no has heard of, and never will! then you knocked BG&E saying that because thief 3 is deeper BG&E won't be considered a classic 10 years from now? i'm just being a little jerk though, so pay me no mind if you dont want to Well, yeah, but it's too boring to think about what the unwashed masses will consider to be classics. Clearly far more important is what games I consider classics. Also I don't object to BG&E being a classic, I agree, I just commented that it gets more praise than actually warranted.
