  1. I got the first game (AO) on Steam, but something must be wrong, there seems to be absolutely no way to step on one of the platforms in time. What they really need to do is put them on Live, so I can play with a proper controller.
  2. And then it still doesn't work, but it's inescapable. Btw, illegal immigration is intimately related to Cal's problems, because it's the political changes enabled by illegal immigration that caused the problems to start with. Remember that governor, Pete something? Edit: Wilson I meant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Pr...tion_187_(1994) Read the analysis. Wilson left California with a 16 billion surplus.
  3. What do you mean he's done nothing? He gave away missile defense and is about to surrender in Afghanistan. It's no wonder Europeans love him. But yeah, the Nobel peace prize has long ago become a joke, it's not like any more proof was needed.
  4. So easy, why didn't I think of that!? Edit:
  5. Then you go looking for those. They'd need fake documents etc. No single solution will work, there has to be a system in place, but right now we're doing virtually nothing except for show.
  6. You've got a long wait, I think MW1 is still full price.
  7. I don't think hurlshot knows there's actually a legal conflict, unless there's something he's not telling us. Sounds like an unfortunate choice of words.
  8. Yes, having to dig a mile long tunnel is totally as easy as waltzing across an open border. And there are ways of detecting tunnels also. When someone doesn't want to solve a problem, there are always a million excuses for why it can't be done. My point is crossing the border via tunnels is already happening with the current border; I don't see building a wall stopping that. And yes they still find the tunnels which doesn't stop them being made. In general while a giant wall might be a deterrent to some, I think evidence exists that it would stop the problem. The debate could be whether it'd significantly drop the numbers, but it wouldn't stop it. Of course nothing is 100%. But 99% is a hell of a lot better than 9%. There are border walls that work quite well btw, so it's not even a debate.

  10. Actually I'm not sure that 20% is true. I think that's only for a conventional loan, unless that got changed recently. We haven't really had a real estate bubble because a) We got tons of empty land to build on b) No one really wants to move here unless they badly need a job
  11. If you're a politician in California who wants to do that, you will lose. That horse has already fled the barn. Edit: Seriously, some of you guys need to read the article I linked at top of page 4. You're making comments without any understanding of American politics.
  12. That's the whole problem in a nutshell right there. Our ****ed up government only pretends they care about enforcing the law.
  13. Well, they can't print money, which I guess has something to do with their credit worthiness. But then again neither can any of countries using Euros. I think California's problems are due to their soft headed liberal government, but make no mistake about it, it's still one of the richest places on earth and the richest state in the US.
  14. Right. Use the difficulty slider to correct a totally flawed and unbalanced character development system. No thanks. I just play all my games on default difficulty. SO any comments on a games diffciulty can be read with that in mind. It's unfair to say the character development system is totally flawed because power gamers exploit it. It's there if you consider that fun, but you don't have to use the exploits.
  15. Canada is less affected by the current crisis mostly because their home mortgage rules are a lot saner than ours, ours are basically fraudulent. Australia is benefitting from the Chinese growth engine, while we lost most of our industrial base to them.
  16. Only if you invest it into something productive. Governments invest it into spending irresponsibly.
  17. Hence the difficulty slider. Oblivion was actually tough at mid-level, after about level 20 you could plough through anything. Shivering Isles was a little different, as it was designed to be played at higher level.
  18. That actually doesn't look half bad. Reassures me atout getting the 360 version.
  19. Sweden has some of the highest taxes in the world (it not THE highest, 30% higher than the US!), and from 1979 up until 2008, Sweden and the US has had roughly the same economic growth, give or take a few percent. From 1995 and onward, we've had higher economic growth than the US. This with twice as high taxes! Source: http://www.newsmill.se/artikel/2009/09/27/...t-hogre-skatter The source is in Swedish, as I couldn't find the English original (International Comparisons of GDP per capita and per employed person. 17 countries, 1960-2008. U.S Department of Labor Statistics. Division of International Labor Comparisons. July 28, 2009). Translated from the article: "Lower taxes in the United States gives the same growth as high taxes in Sweden. Higher taxes in Sweden gives the same growth as in the United States. The difference is that Sweden is a welfare State, where all citizens are relatively economically and socially secure, while the U.S. is the social divides country, including nearly 40 million poor and near 4 million homeless." ftp://ftp.bls.gov/pub/special.requests/Fo...abor/flsgdp.txt Here's the English original. Taxes aren't the only factor in economic growth. No doubt our economy has been mismanaged over the years. Sweden also doesn't have to deal with the same social problems as us, or the huge drain of our military budget. Edit: Just noticed those GDP numbers are per capita, no wonder they seem low. Ours would be skewed by higher population growth, higher percentage of children, and influx of low earning immigrants.
  20. Oh, but it's OK to have minimum wage laws, and then exploit the people who can't complain about it? Also I'm not advocating immediately deporting everyone, only stopping new illegal immigration.
  21. The benefits would be huge, I don't want to become part of Mexico. Sorry for the right wing link: http://pajamasmedia.com/victordavishanson/...rapeutic-style/
  22. Why exactly is closing borders not a solution? Also the economic effects of illegal immigration are debatable, but the effect on crime is not, you also have to consider the political implications, hence my comment about 20% poverty rate. Basically we're letting Mexico shift their poverty problem to us, which in turn causes problems in our society, including but not limited to economic problems. Edit: The reason it's the same as 1984 is probably because a lot of them got legalized in 1986. Not coincidentally, California became a Democrat controlled state soon afterward, and the decline began.
  23. It's come to a tipping point. Who doesn't? I have no doubt California will pull out of this unless the national economy collapses. I expect the slow decline to continue though.
  24. Like I said, it's vaporware, it's available, you just can't buy it.
