  1. Like I said, you mustn't be part of the target audience.
  2. Well, that's what I'm trying to say, they have a 5 man team, and they don't want a publisher because they want complete control. The previous game is supposed to finance the next one, so if AoD doesn't do well enough, it's the end of the road. Edit: You'll be able to order a CD with a nice manual from their website, in addition to DD, I don't know about other arrangements.
  3. 360 version? You're a laugh riot. Yes, as chronicler said, definition of success is quite different for a 5 man team vs a 50 man team.
  4. @Morgoth They hardly invested any money, so at least that they don't have to worry about. But you're right, no one knows if the project will succeed, it's an experiment at this point. But I'll point out that most mainstream games with high poly graphics also lose money, a whole lot of money.
  5. Can you point out any quality RPG's among them? Obviously graphics were never a priority for AoD. I remain skeptical about your taste in art. Your expectations, not everyone's. AoD is meant for a niche audience, you may not be part of it, that's why ITS is an indie developer.

  7. Exactly. AOD looks great, anyone looking for polycount should get the next piece of shiny crap from your favorite AAA shiny crap developer who spends $30 million to make their crap shinier than last year's piece of crap.
  8. The game is isometric, and I'm sure Source is way more than they can afford, since there's no financing so far as I know.
  9. Like Vista wasn't stable, silly. Vista seems easily corruptible by applications crashing, while W7 seems better protected, at least based on my experiences so far.
  10. It's Vista 1.5, but seems a lot more stable.
  11. Seems unusually insightful. That's exactly my concern.
  12. The current thinking is to keep the families together if at all possible, in some cases they've gone too far with that idea.
  13. I don't even understand why Bioware would want to generate that kind of publicity. I can see a sexy alien at least would help sales.
  14. These families are probably already involved with Child Protective Services, or whatever it's called in the UK, so I don't see what the big deal is. The government has an obligation to protect children from bad parents. If adults want to mess up their own lives, that's a different story.
  15. Funny, the ESRB description says exactly why it's rated M, and people still argue about why it's rated M.
  16. Exactly, real brothels are all about sexual exploitation, abuse and often outright slavery. The fact that Bioware make light of the subject just shows how juvenile they are.
  17. There's about a $10 difference due to the license fee. But I also noticed PC games generally tend to be discounted quicker and deeper than console games, may be due to price pressure from piracy, not sure.
  18. That was the point, he did what his position as king required him to do, whether he liked it or not. And that was the climax, so it was supposed to be jarring. And no, I don't think he was
  19. Hate to break it to you guys, but Oblivion did that already.
  20. I think the quad core recommendation is Intel marketing. I distinctly remember a developer on the DAO forum saying recently there's no significant improvement beyond 2 cores. Plus you can always run on low settings.
  21. I read the whole thing, but that was in history class. The only things I can remember is you're supposed to chase down the enemy when they retreat and war is politics by other means.
  22. That was just poor combat balancing/design, although it would've been OK for lower difficulty settings.
