Politics XXXV (Life in the Vault is about to change)
ComradeYellow replied to Amentep's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yeah well forgive me for not trusting the same people who sold us the Gulf of Tonkin and Weapons of Mass destruction in Iraq on....anything! They lie about everything. And when I see U.S. politicians accusing China of covering up statistics and don't see China responding in kind, it only makes sense to question more. Yes there's evidence that the local Wuhan authorities did initially try to cover up the outbreak but the central government was right there sending in an army of medical staff and soldiers to lock the area down to contain the spread so that's why China's numbers are remarkable especially when you factor in their population density. -
Bashing on History Channel is sooo 2010. With the rise of neo white supremicists (who sound eerily similar to the HuffPo journalists who think everything is a conspiracy against women and minorities, just flip that upside down) there's plenty of modern material to go around. Yes it's the "Longest Play in American History" as a wise man once put it. "Oh you don't like this corporate imperialist? Well, my corporate imperialism is softer and more gentle" There's 3rd parties on the ballot, start taking advantage of the remaining limited power voters have and vote differently for a change. Also, I'm getting the impression that the U.S. government is hiding the actual death toll, which seems strangely low for the confirmed cases but who knows. -
"Locked up and burned alive for being white?" Where or when has this happened?

Tom Clancy's Division 2. It's great, it has that certain theme to it that seems to be inherent to a lot of titles that land on the Epic Games Store. Good guys trying to restore order in an evil chaotic world turned to Hell because of....a virus! How prescient! I swear to God the authoritarians are the good guys in the 21st century. -

I'm getting paid more unemployed than I was when I was employed. Both the federal and state governments have pumped a significant sum into my bank account. Which is strange because I'm not your typical American who like to spend lavishly. So when my job called me up and said we're going back on May 4th, I was kinda like "Eh, I'm kinda comfortable right now but OK whatevs". I just feel bad because there's probably way more deserving people out there who could use the boost and probably don't get it. -
Case in point. Sophie Hawkins is miles ahead of me with her poetic genius and is by far ahead of me and my instincts but liberals still think they're SO FAR AHEAD OF THE GAME that they try to squish us progressives with their electoral weight and ignorance. https://youtu.be/tI2wNOuwuSc

I may be tedious with my 'Heart' on this board but perhaps it may be because there's a lack of it and opportunists like me are always here to swoop in and fill the gap.

I'm just sore that it's 2020 and the events from the 60's haven't procured any Greens into congress yet. Whatever the case, if there's one thing in common Blue's and Green have, it's the Red's desire to hurt, main, and kill us and Dem's on their own accord can't fight back w/o Green support. If at least half the Dem's can shed their own worst impulses (Imperialism/submission to the military industrial complex, Wall Street/Bank bailouts, ect.) and join us, we so got this. -

Eh, kinda hard to adopt systems from tiny countries with a different historical trajectory than that of the U.S. https://www.gp.org/green_new_deal 'Tis sufficient, what bothers me is Democrats trying to steal Green Party policies. -
If all you do is game and browse, any new gen core i7 is best. If you game and stream and edit videos, go with an i9. If you're a mid range gamer who gets his/her jollies off of running multiple apps/games at once and is not very conscience of cpu usage, Ryzen is your bag. It's class vs. trash. The color Red used to be class, but 1989 changed that, so now it's synonymous with trash, so classy gamers stick with blue/green (cyan).

Just dropping in to say **** you Bernie Sanders for endorsing Biden and am not looking forward to four more years of greasy slimy faux patriot Zionist Trump. Perhaps I can score a job at EGS to keep me sane because nothing will ever change as long as these two parties remain in power. Walk away from the voting booth. A historically low turnout rating is sometimes the best voting outcome you can hope for. -
My dream candidate would be 3rd party, attract most Independents, half the Democrats, and perhaps some token Republicans. A very tourquise candidate. Someone who can effectively push a 3rd Party in there.
-
Yet look at Trump who is on the other end of the spectrum who "took over" the Republican Party and then won the election then the Party ended up taking over him. He's doing a great job demonstrating what would happen if Sanders won instead. Doesn't matter, as long as the 2 Party system remains intact, there will be no structural change, only rhetorical. As an aside, I'm not a huge Bernie fan, maybe it's the American in me but I'd think if I wanted a Progressive champion he'd have to be jacked on steroids and attract people all over the spectrum, instead of just the fringe. I got faith
-
Yet people keep voting for Democrats and Republicans and wonder why we don't have better government. Stop voting for parties with entrenched corruption and things may improve a little bit. Edit: To expand on that, I don't think all out Revolution is the answer, there's been enough Revolutions in the modern era, and all have produced lukewarm results. Voting 3rd parties, at least in America, would be seen as Evolutionary rather than Revolutionary, and I'm more than content with that. If a successful 3rd party comes around, it would force the other 2 parties to compete, thereby improving things adequately.

Playing Resident Evil 3. It's actually pretty good, more focus on action than the usual intricate puzzle-solving layouts (Again the short development time is certainly the cause of that), and fairly linear, but what it does it does well. Basically, It's closer to RE4 than REmake, with a RE3 Nemesis skin, but the pacing, the action, the ammo creation and the characters make up for its short comings. -

Downloading RE3. After reading some reviews, it looks like my skepticism having only 1 year development time turned out to be valid, as people are claiming it's on the short side. The demo was fun though so if it stays similar to that throughout I won't have much complaints but I'm guessing it's probably not worth it at full price unless you're a real fan of the series. -
After watching some behind the scenes footage on the FF7 remake, I think I'll pass.

Cause and effect. I'm sure if the West starts enacting better and fairer business practices, China will respond in kind. China is simply trying to stay afloat, even in the face of aggressive U.S. corporatism and expansionism. Which is, I'll say it again, FASCISM.

And yet, somehow Huawei's products seem more attractive than the horrendous Apple business model. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-25/google-stadia-nvidia-geforce-microsoft-xcloud-not-on-apple-ios Some scary **** there. At least Huawei seems like they operate on a platform that welcomes competition, unlike these "Freedom loving capitalists". Then again I'm not greatest judge of cell phones here, I still sport a Tracfone ffs!

That's what the Confederacy said.

Desperation. He has a very poor grasp on the cyclical nature of U.S. history and thinks rugged individualism is the solution to every crisis we face. If he had it his way, he'd remove Lincoln and FDR from the history books. He has always been 'ruggedly' consistent in his views though so I'll give him props for that, lol.
