Alright I've run into a new problem. None of the guns do any damage! I installed the restoration project, it must have been some component of it. How do I disable this? The fights take freaking forever, no one is doing any damage except with criticals.

nevermind figured it out. thanks everyone!

Is the high-res mod stable now? Last time I tried it a few years ago like half of the areas were bugged and it crashed every 10 minutes.
-
What unofficial patch is the best, e.g. adds the least ****ty new features and just fixes bugs? Haven't kept up with the Fallout modding scene in a while so any other good fixes/mods that don't change too much and are of high quality would be welcome as well. Killaps unofficial patch + Fallout restoration project looks pretty solid, anyone tried those mods?

You will need to correct a buttload of errors by hand.

Because he could just as well download the game illegaly and Blizzard want to minimize that. If you're planning on playing exlusively offline rest assured that the game will get cracked within a week of its release and you won't have to verify your accounts online.
-
Or they might have a laptop, or use a net cafe or whatever. I dont get it either but apparently some people are just technologically backwards.
-
That's my understanding as well. As for cracking it, I don't see why. How often do you have a LAN situation, but no internet connection? I'm sure the single player will be cracked, but the battle.net stuff will probably take a while. I don't know, I'm going to play D3 exlusively on battle.net. Some people did complain about not being abled to play it without connecting to the internet and my post was mainly aimed to them.

It's not an online check - there's simply no LAN capability. If you want MP play, you need to go through B.net. The way I understood it (without reading the article) is that you can play in a closed network, you just have to have everyone authenticate their copies in Bnet. If that is the case there will be a crack for it, at most 1 month after release. If you have to play multiplayer through Bnet, I'm sure there will a tool to cheat the game and create your own Bnet clones a few months after release. This is why these so called anti piracy measures that only make paying customers lives more difficult are useless; hackers will find ways around them in a few months, and Blizzard has to direct manpower to patching these hacks unuseable. It's a waste of time and money.

I've got 4 gigs of ram and my 32bit XP can utilize 3.75 of it. Considering the really ****ty driver situation of 64XP i think it's a fair tradeoff.

I'm sure there will be a crack for the online check two weeks after the game is released. Not that I mind, I don't plan on playing D3 lan or offline, but I'm sure it will be possible.

Actually, somebody who played the Monk for 15 minutes at Blizzcon said it's similar to the Assassin but smoother (i.e. less button-mashing). Well in that case I might even like it. It's not even nearly done yet though. I'm pretty sure they'll add a ton of stuff so the feel of the class might change. Overall I'm cautiously optimistic. I really hope the remaining character will be a native american flavoured ranged class.
-
Thanks for the advice but I figured out that much myself. If it's like the assassin I'll have no problem. If it's hectic button-mashing or complex comboing with a mouse & keyboard then I'll have a problem. Then again neither of us can know how the monk plays (I assume you weren't at Blizzcon), but judging by the gameplay video it seems a lot more fast paced than the Assassin.
-
Native American ranger with a general nature theme tree (buffs, some elemental damage AoE like blizzard), a summon/shapeshift tree and a bow skills tree. I kind of knew there'd be a monk character. It's an age-old fantasy archetype and a pretty good way to get a rogue/assassin type of class with an unique flavour. I'm not too fond on the fighting game combo aspect of the character, seems like it could get annoying. We'll see.

Hopefully I'll be abled to get drivers for all my of hardware on the 64bit version. I've got 4 gigs of ram so half of it is wasted with 32b XP.
-
Yeah I lost interest as soon as I saw it's gonna be an MMO.

Have you seen the movie? Yeah, I actually started watching it but the girlfriend vetoed and we stopped 15 minutes in. I would have wanted to watch it but I guess the cheese factor was too much for her. I'll admit, it was bad, but I'm such a fan of the original comics that I plan to finish it in the near future.

Foster care isn't really a solution to the problem; it's like using medication instead of therapy for depression. The British goverment (looking things through their capitalist glasses) seem to want to go to the root of the problem and try to fix the cause of the rise of youth crime, bad parenting. I have no idea if it has any chance of working, certainly seems like a bad idea to me. But then again I'm not a sociologist. Must be hard being one of the upper class. Give the poor too much freedom and they cause trouble, use force to keep them in their place and they still cause trouble. Damn peasants.

Took me 5 seconds to google this: http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4809843_remov...bios-virus.html

I've actually never played IWD despite completing all other IE games multiple times. Does the widescreen mod work with IWD?

Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals. Weird adventure game based on comics of one Enki Bilal, a french writer who used to do stuff for the Heavy Metal magazine in the 80s. The plot is kind of weird, bunch of egyptian gods park their pyramid-shaped spacecraft over dystopian Paris because they ran out of fuel on their way to who knows where. Your job is to find you father, who's being led around by Horus who plans to make him the god-king of Paris for reasons unknown. Beautiful graphics, ok puzzles but the mood if just perfect. I guess this game gives more to people who are familiar with the comics (read them religiously as a kid), but I'd still recommend this to all fans of adventure games or dystopian fiction. Oh, and it's made by the same people who made Syberia, a name which should be familiar to adventure game fans.

Because the whole of american TV and movie business is completely out of original ideas? HBO is above the rest, Deadwood was good but apparently not good enough when you can make "The Sopranos in Middle Earth".

Is this really a rule? I mean that rules out over half of the internet.
