  1. You are lame. I dunno, seems like fewer and fewer games grab me nowadays. Torchlight was ok, but it just seems like a waste of time. Like playing a flash game. This is probably because Torchlight is what I'd call a casual game, and what I mean by that is, it's basically as casual as peggle, but an RPG. A Casual Hack and Slash RPG, I like this because it allows me to get some gaming in at lunch around all my other tasks, I can just pick it up, and play it. It's not deep. It's not demanding. It's not an amazing technical feat. I do find it to be alot of fun. Yeah. It's just that I don't game on my lunch hour, I eat. I only game for a few hours a week, and I'd like those hours to be somehow memorable. Torchlight isn't. It's the right genre for me but shallow as a puddle. It's not a bad game, just not the right game for me. Borderlands looks more like my type of thing.

  3. I got tired after getting to around level 10 on two character, so two hours. Uninstalled, waiting for Diablo 3.
  4. This is a bit misleading. Pot itself does not cause depression; however, it can trigger it. This is why people with a history of depression or mental illnesses should be wary if they decide to smoke, or at least acknowledge the risk. On the other hand cannabis can also be used to treat depression Memory loss is true, some studies show that cannabis somewhat affects your short term memory. It's not really serious, just don't smoke every day. I don't really notice it in any of my friends, even the ones who light up daily. The problem with the last claim is how did they measure something like that? Did you draw the conclusions from the fact that a lot of people with issues tend to self medicate with drugs? If so, I don't really think cannabis is the reason for the reduced job performance loss, the reason is something else entirely. I know smoking pot doesn't affect my job performance. I've read some studies that smoking cannabis reduces your mathematical skills while boosting your social skills and creativity. I also read of a test that people who smoked weed in their teens have an IQ of 5 points lower than the ones who didn't smoke it. Don't know how accurate either test is.
  5. So how are the game mechanics? I don't really care about writing or plot since computer games always have bad or forgettable writing. Is this anywhere near BG2 as far as game mechanics and combat goes? Or is this just another ****ty modern CRPG thats more fluff than actual gameplay?
  6. It's both. And to clarify, you seemed under the impression that you just stick the Ubuntu disc in and everything will magically work. It's not super complicated, but it will require some fiddling in the beginning. If I misunderstood you then I'm sorry. Penguin power! Well I didn't think it would be that easy, just probably no harder than getting any new Windows OS to work properly.
  7. Yeah I've been fiddling with computers since my first one, an Amiga 500 when I was 5. Been working with macs for years and built a few PC's for home use. I've been interested in Linux for years but it's just seemed too much of a hassle. Now the more I read about Ubuntu the more it seems like more of a valid option instead of a nerdy hobby. That's a good idea Krez. My mobo, Asus P5Q seems to be one of the few mobos that has some compatibility issues with Ubuntu, but most of them seem to be fixable.
  8. http://www.justice.gov/dea/ongoing/marinol.html I still prefer smoking or vaporizing.
  9. That's nice because I remember one particularly unpleasant experience I had with hash. That must have been the second time I ever did it, and my last. Sounds like you smoked more than you could handle. Happens to some people, it's unavoidable when you don't really know what you're getting. If you had the option to walk into a store, tell the clerk you're a beginner and ask for something mellow and get detailed instructions how much to smoke this wouldn't be an issue. All this is possible in Amsterdam. Yeah I wouldn't do it. I've been thinking about tripping on acid since it sounds really cool but MDMA just..I dunno makes you wanna dance? Not worth it IMO. It's also available as a mouth spray!
  10. Sometimes, like when you really want something but can't afford it, theft is cool.
  11. Heh, you're so ignorant it's making me smile. Cannabis is currently legal to use for medical purposes in multiple US states and european countries, including Finland.
  12. The Road Disneyfied bull****, ruined completely by the awful voiceover and cheesy violin soundtrack. What the hell Cave & Ellis? What the **** Hillcoat? The Proposition was such a masterpiece, how could you ruin one of the best books of this century? I was really looking forward to it, too. Sucks.
  13. I only refer to studies because there's never been any before and because most of the studies have been so overwhelmingly positive. Cannabis can be used to treat so many different illnesses and symptons that it's really retarded it's been illegal for so long. Also cannabis can worsen or trigger psychosis or depression, but it's not really any different from any drug. People somehow think that just because something is legal you don't have to use common sense. Just like people with diabetes or high cholesterol who have to abstain from certain things people with psychosis, bipolar(ity?) or depression in their family should think twice before doing ANY drugs, including alcohol and tobacco. They'd probably be pathetic losers without pot.
  14. Never had a bad trip? Pot is cool and all... but MDMA is no joking matter. You can't get a bad trip with weed. I've smoked too much yeah and it hasn't always been that pleasant but as long as you know what you're smoking and your limits (both of which would be a thousand times easier if cannabis was legal) you can't really have a bad high. Sure there's some people who just don't like it but I don't think they'd smoke more than once or twice. Yeah E's are different. I don't really get why they'd need to be legalized. Then again I've never done any. But IIRC they're really not that dangerous. Lethality rate is nowhere near alcohol levels. To each their own, it's not a heavy drug. Better than getting wasted.
  15. Because as I've said ten times already, cannabis has been proven to be the least dangerous of all recreational drugs. Do you think we should have total prohibition of all drugs? No coffein, no excess sugar? Weed is about as dangerous as the aforementioned two. Banning weed is retarded since it has clear health benefits and can be used to treat illnesses or symptoms other drugs can't. Plus it's real fun to get high with little to no bad effects.
  16. It's not theft, it's copyright infringement.
  17. Did you just step out of a time machine from the 50's? There are dozens of scientific studies on nicotine and they all say the same thing, it is insanely addicting. True story. Here is a link: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4753 Is insanely addicting a scientific term? All I know is people can quit smoking without any kind of rehab, and anecdottally people have just as much trouble not overeating as quitting smoking. Heh, you're precious. How do you think people stopped using heroin in the 19th century? You know, before rehab. Nicotine addiction is comparable to heroin (according to some studies) but the withdrawal symptons aren't. Watch Trainspotting, it's supposedly pretty accurate And cannabis can be used to treat depression. Your point?
  18. I decided to install it inside windows first and try it and learn how to use it before uninstalling XP. Probably the smartest thing to do.
  19. Network adapter and sound card are mobo integrated so the same drivers should work. Mouse is a 2-button logitech piece of **** that I'm sure has support off the box. DVD-drive is as generic as they come so probably no issues there. As I said, my rig is pretty barebones.
  20. I haven't even looked yet but it seems like they're about the same as far as driver support goes. Besides, I don't have any extra hardware, just the mobo and GPU really.
  21. Because cannabis has a lot of legitimate pros to it, cigarettes do not. I don't understand why you're even comparing the two, they have nothing in common besides that you can smoke both. What pros does cannabis have that tobacco doesn't? I'm comparing them because they're both mind altering drugs, and they're both normally smoked. Read what I posted before: its really good for chronic pain and treating multiple diseases. Also it's the least harmful of all recreational drugs including alcohol and tobacco. There's been studies that say that nicotine is as addicting as heroin. Either way it's really hard to quit, I haven't smoked in four months now but it was hell to get over the first few weeks. Much harder than not smoking a joint in a few months.
  22. Damn, I just realised something: my creative Zen drivers/software might not work with WINE. That might be a good enough reason not to switch I'll have to find out. Also, you can get W7 for pretty cheap if not free if you are a student or better an IT student. As for drivers, I was speaking generally, but it would be a good idea to see if all the drivers you're going to need are available for 64 bit or at all, for that matter. I'm not a student, and I'm not really interested in spending 100+
  23. Because Microsoft sucks, I can't afford/don't want to pay for Windows 7 and open source rules. Damn, I just realised something: my creative Zen drivers/software might not work with WINE. That might be a good enough reason not to switch I'll have to find out.
