Well you sure don't seem to like to put your soldiers to trial in any situation, even when they rape and kill civilians in an illegal war. So nice going I guess?

I have to think you don't know much about WW2 history. Yes, you must be right. Other than the degree in history and the few classes on World War 2 I took in college, I have little knowledge on the subject. Please enlighten us all on your vast knowledge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_war_crimes Notice the references to Wehrmacht, or follow specific links. Wonderful. And here is a link to the Allied war crimes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_war_cr...ng_World_War_II I'm really not getting your point here. My point is that your attempt to absolve Wehrmacht from responsibilty for war crimes is invalid. I didn't see any americans on trial after the war.

I see it this way, it's the same as a black person saying all white men are evil b/c his or her relatives were kept as slaves. So not really relevant at all. I see that as totally relevant. I can disagree with the assessment, but I can clearly see where the opinion is coming from. I also think the analogy makes more sense if the black person thinks all southerners during the era of slavery are evil, which again, makes sense even though we can dispute that most southerners didn't own slaves and many probably did not support slavery as an institution. Sure I can see where the opinion is coming from, but that doesn't make it even remotely true or relevant to this discussion. He's biased and wrong, flat out. I mean he basically said "as a jew I have the right to condemn the people of Germany because my relatives suffered under the Nazi regime". Sure, and I have the right to condemn all russians and swedes for treating finns like crap for hundreds of years and actually the allied forces for declaring war on Finland when we were only trying to keep our Sovereignty. The world isn't black and white.

Just to clarify by nazi soldier I meant a german soldier in WW2 who didn't turn against his country. I think it's always kind of dangerous to label a soldier a hero since in every war there are noble and heroic deeds committed on all sides no matter who the winner is. If you say an american soldier who killed lots of enemies and saved his comrades is a hero you have to aknowledge that a german soldier who did the same deeds is a hero as well, no matter what Germany was trying to accomplish. Lots of east europeans fought side by side with the nazis against the soviet invasion and ended in a worst state than if Germany would have won. Things are never black and white and despite what all these computer games and american movies and yes I'm saying it jews are saying the Allied forces were far from the heroes and "good guys" in every aspect.

Actually he was on our side since Finland was allied with Germany during WW2.

So does anyone actually know if this will change the power structure of the EU at all or did they just change the name of the Secretary General? I doubt any of you have read the Lissabon Treaty much less understand the changes it makes. I know I haven't.

God damn it, I guess I'm kind of looking forward to this. I blame the lack of quality TV, Sons of Anarchy is the only TV show I've been watching this season I was really hoping they'd recruit some of the Deadwood old-timers like Dayton Callie, William Sanderson or Brad Dourif.

can a nazi germany soldier be a hero?

Do you have a license yet, J.E.?

Obviously Dagon thinks he's good enough to tell everyone how to live, but damn if THE GOVERMENT tells him to do the same. -

He's an upper class white heterosexual male, of course he feels threatened by gay, poor and coloured people. -
No I think we're in a much better hands with faceless bureaucrats leading the EU instead of charismatic, crazy religious neocons. To each their own I guess.
-
You don't even have to look overseas-- we've tried Dagon's idea right here in the USA. Then there was a war. The conservatives lost. Well yeah then there's that. That was pretty long ago though, so a more recent example would be Germany. But yeah either one shows how stupid that idea is.
-
THE RED STATE WILL RULE THE WORLD Seriously dude read about how Germany was affected by the split. You'll see how god damn stupid your idea is.

How is this constitutional? I mean this whole law basically says **** HAVE NO RIGHTS. And I know The US doesn't have a state church so how can they deny gays the right to form a civil union? -

Perfect if a bit lame technique: hold down W and press Q for a second at a time. You'll slowly nudge the guy forward on his knees. I stopped at around 30m because it became obvious I could have gone forever, or at least until that obstacle. -
Heh, also looking at the state Florida, Louisiana etc. are in I doubt you'd last more than a few years without the northern states. Also California would probably go blue. But yeah go for it Dagon, I'm sure the yankees would like to drop all the excess baggage.

Corporations are made of people, as are goverments. Also I didn't say laying off people is immoral, it can be though. It depends on what the reasons behind the lay offs are. I don't necessarily think EA is evil in this case. They're obviously bleeding money and the current economic situation is making a lot of companies to do the same. However some of the posts in this thread have said that companies should have all and every right to lay off anyone they want whenever they want and if an employee doesn't like it he can walk off. Basically that big corporations have the right to do whatever they want and it's the goverments job to make this easier. This is disagree with. -

Heh, your first claim is so ridiculous I'm not even gonna bother addressing that. Second of all why do you put the blame on the goverments, not the corporations that very much support these goverments because of the benefits they get? Or do corporations have no responsobility in anything over making money for their shareholders, and it's everyone elses fault that we make their bending the rules and robbing poor nations possible? You surely see how ridiculous that is. That's like saying killing someone isn't the murderers fault because no one stopped him. -
Poetic justice if you will. I find it quite ironic that the only war on american soil was a civil war, not counting your headbutting with mexico. Maybe this would lead to a bit more humble USA? At least it will lead to all those godawful reality shows and useless celebrities disappearing from the media.

Maybe the whole union will collapse. That would be awesome.

First of all I'm not an economist nor a politician so all factual errors come from lack of knowledge. I am however interested in this sort of stuff and have read a lot about politics. I'd like to hear all you right wing nuts defending the big corporations moving out of 1st world countries to poor 3rd world and basically use up all their resources, break or change enviromental laws with bribes and employ people in sweatshops. Most big american firms have been proven to use these kinds of tactics in search of more profits over the years, as well as smaller corporations everywhere (we Finns have proved ourselves very talented in this). How is this right? This is kind of relevant because firms, not sure if it's possible in the business EA is in, have been moving most of their production to countries with loose or non-existant labour laws. Are the firms right, should we abolish our labour laws and basically all welfare in favour of big profits for big corporations? That would basically mean a return to the days before democracy. All money and power would be in the hands of a tiny elite and there would be a huge underclass basically in the position of slaves. Is that desirable to you? Do you see yourself as a ruler or a slave? -
I agree with that to an extent. While I usually smoke joints due to their easiness I do enjoy a good bong session now and then. It's kind of a different high, good for example when you're going to have a Conan marathon with a bunch of friends or just want to space out with a good record. Joints are more for when you just casually want to get high before going to the movies or a gig, not too high but just enough. Pipes have their own place, too. There's this one old hippie here who makes pipes. Only the bowl is glass, the stem is actually a wild reed. It's the softest hit I've ever had and there's something really cool about going to the beach and taking the stem straight from nature. Here's a pic:
