  1. Well, they haven't disbanded their Blizzard Console division yet, so certainly they must work on something. Or do you think they just sit arround and play with jigsaw puzzles?
  2. "Mr. President! We've received intel that a huge unidendified aircraft just entered Earth's atmosphere! Oh god Mr. President only Gawd can safe us now!!!" And then there was a bright light. And then there what you now see in this artwork. Bleh. While it looks cool on it's own, I wonder what it has to do with Fallout. You know, retro-LA-50th's style and stuff. And they better don't dare to forget to include the Pip Boy at least, dammit!
  3. There's a new interview with Warren. Read NOW!
  4. Leonard Boyarsky, a good ol' mate from me who works at Blizzard, told me they're gonna announce a news game at May 19th. If you don't believe me you liars, just wait and see!
  5. I see a blonde chick and a robot. Usually, this can never fail!
  6. yawn Deus Ex with talking rabbits maybe?
  7. Totally groovy I guess. And not only can Sam now throw people through the room, he can even throw chairs! No wonder Ubisoft Montreal no less seeks to be the most creative development studio on this planet!
  8. And, is it any good?
  9. You mean "accept" it. And yes, Starcraft is still the RTS king. But can there be also a Chess 2? Evil tongues however claim Blizzard will reveal a Starcraft MMO instead of SC2 later this month. OTH Blizzard works on several projects currently, so a RTS sequel is not excluded. There's still the BlizzCon in August, another perfect timeframe to announce maybe another project.
  10. Sure they can. And yes, while it's cool that J.E. works on TBH with the NWN2 engine, working with the old VB engine would make me flying!
  11. A beer, and in addition I ate plentifull of yoghurt. Don't ask me why, but I like the aftertaste of yoghurt after a gulp of beer. Now I don't get rid of the farting, though. *fart* Here, again! *fart* Oh the DRAMA!
  12. Oh well there're quite a few games I'm really looking forward to (and I bet I already applied a few times in that thread now..but people forget so quickly!). Bioshock Heavy Rain Assasin's Creed Dragon Age Project Georgia HL2 Ep2 Everything from Blizzard if non-Console and non-MMO Jericho looks interesting too. Same for Alone in the Dark 5. And some other games I forgot...
  13. It only crashed once on my machine. Always at the same spot, after I kill the flamethrower chick and get down to the vault entry, then bam! Apart from that, I like how BIS got the low-perspective "2D" feeling of the angle right. And teh music and doggies are teh awesome! I really hope Obsidian will one day get the chance to create a real Fallout in the vein of Van Buren! Bethesda's Fallout will fail by default.
  14. People are whining about some teaser music....tsk tsk. I'm more worried about the
  15. Hey, Blizzard intends to announce a new game on May 19th. Supposedly it's not Starcraft 2. I bet it's a Diablo MMO. This will generate lots of grumbling for sure.
  16. Don't take him so hard. Ion Storm was screwed by the time it was acquired by Eidos. Besides he wasn't too much involved into the design of DXIW. While he did some suggestions and backed up his buddy Harvey Smith regularly, there's also the fact about the totally broken engine. Good ideas, bad ideas....doesn't matter. A broken engine will always generate a bad game. But this is all over now. Junction Point shall flourish and sprinkle us with new innovative games! Yes!
  17. To be fair, Microsoft does fund a lot of "blue sky" research. Okay, it might be capitalistically prudent to buy-out any fantastic new idea that might conceivably become a threat in the future, but they are still funding some interesting stuff. (For example, did you know Microsoft have an enormous Linux division? Big and well funded.) Yes, but Linux as an OS is an area MS also operates. I'm talking about investements into totally different economical branches. A big Linux division won't solve Warrens worries (HA!) about simulated behaviour and what not.
  18. Just for the sake of completion: Don't miss out the previous parts of Warrens Next Gen rant.
  19. Well he got screwed with his old company, Ion Storm several times. I hope he's shaking some things up with his new Junction Point studios, though. I heard news about his project(s) are expected in the next months....E3?
  20. Click on this Link to proceed. Thank you! It's always a pleasure to read Warren's latest take/rant on subjects he feels need answers. In this article he urges that academics and teh game industry need to collaborate closer in order to prevent the bigger and bigger becoming leap of portraying fidelity vs. offering simulated story telling...so to speak. As things keep looking better rapidly, behaviour that is to be excpected from such graphical fidelity lacks behind. The problem as usual is the lack of fund for proper long-term R&D. The classical Developer/Publisher realtionship for funding R&D won't work there for sure, maybe game developers need to start talking to investors from other industries (IT, semiconductor) that often invest big money into areas like Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience (Human-brain interfaces), McDonalds or Morgoth Industries. I wonder why the big boys like MS or EA don't hand out and pay projects and degree dissertation to Universities in order to solve some tough problems. They have the money, after all!
  21. One of my classmates in college (working in the same field of study, no less) was a German woman named Meike. When she first came to the country, she went to a party where a mutual friend gave out presents to everyone. She became very alarmed when the host gave her a box and told her it was a gift. Hah, incidents like that always make life a bit more colorful. I once remember like 6 years ago back in school, we had this very fine lady from Seattle as an Exchange Student or whatever to support us in our English course.... At any rate, at some point she asked me what Books I'm currently reading, but she said "Books" like "Bugs" and I was totally paralized because it didn't make any sense. I said "Bugs"? She replied "Yes, Bugs". Oh boy, without elaborating too much, it took some time until I realized she meant "Books". There was laughter, too.
  22. How about Irrational Games? They made System Shock 2. While that's only ~29,657% RPG, that bit that's in is still more than...let's say Bio ever achieved.
  23. You know more than me. Where did you get that, a Condemned movie?
