  1. Don't bother with it, it's just annoying and further missions get more annoying. Thief1 was cool when it was released, but had too much bad action and stupid zombies that felt opposed to what actually Thief is all about. Better jump into Thief 2 right away: Better mission design, better story, better graphics. And there's an unofficial 13 mission Expansion pack with full VO and Cutscenes available for it, too. www.thief2x.com Download and play it after finishing Thief2. It's the best FM out there. Edit: Oh yes, I was too lazy yesterday to post the exact thread regarding running Thief1/2 on WinXP. Here you go!
  2. If you have trouble running it on WinXp, look over www.ttlg.com into the Thief thread for solutions. Everything you need to run it properly in WInXP is collected in one thread. Also, don't forget to patch it. www.thief-thecircle.com
  3. There's a very cool Bioshock special from 1Up "Inside Irrational" with lots of new gameplay footage and interviews. Very cool. Click Oh my god now I watched it and came to the conclusion that it will never run on my PC....
  4. I haven't read through all this, but yes, cheating is a terrible thing. In games too, btw.
  5. Prevoo @ Eurogamer (X360)
  6. They only have to say nice things if Microsoft would be the publisher.
  7. Interview with Ed Orman "Ed Orman: There are very substantial gameplay differences between the two versions. Look, our heritage is PC. We’ve taken the differences between the two platforms very seriously. We look at history, we look at other PC/console games like Deus Ex 2. We realized that you need to treat them differently. Not only in terms of the balance, but also in the interface. We have a very different interface for the PC version of Bioshock, using much more drag and drop functionality. In terms of the gameplay, we’ve rebalanced all of the enemies to make the PC version harder. We’ve taken Softlock out of the PC version. You need this “locking on” with a console, because it’s so much harder to aim at something with a game pad, but you don’t need it on a PC. But of course, the Xbox 360 version still is the lead version of Bioshock."
  8. The Aurora Engine always felt clunky. And that's not just the framerate. Here's my official exclamation to Obisidian for the Alien RPG: Please don't make it clunky, but fun. Thank you.
  9. Thief credits. Seems like Warren only assisted with some initial gameplay ideas before leaving LG. Ken Levine wrote the story, while some Greg LoPiccolo dude is credited as Project Leader. Randy Smith (the Project Lead on Thief DS) was Leveldesigner back then for Thief1 and is now working at EA with some super secret Steven Spielberg project(s). Well, lot of familiar names from the Origin/LG legacy pop up here and there at Junction Point, too. I'm glad they have Sheldon Pacotti back.
  10. I WILL COLOR YOU WITH MY MINIONS HAW HAW HAW!!!
  11. Ever heard of this game? It's from Triumph Interactive, makers of the Age of Wonder series. Website Seems like it's a funny mix of RTS, action Adventure and Dungeon Keeper. I never really knew what that game really is about, but there're now two gameplay videos in HD res available, which really spiked my interest. There will also be a playable demo available, this or next week. Gameplay video Part1 Gameplay video Part2 Totally hilarious!
  12. Sorry child, but Ken's already married. But I am still available....
  13. While the Expansion surely will be shorter, I expect it's OC to be tremendously better than the Original, since Obsidian now can focus solely on the content.
  14. "Warren Spector received a BS in Speech from Northwestern and an MA in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas. In 1983, just shy of his PhD in Communication, Warren worked on a variety of boardgames, RPGs, choose-your-own-adventure books and novels, with Steve Jackson Games (where he rose to Editor-in-Chief) and at TSR which he joined in 1987. Warren entered the world of electronic games with ORIGIN in 1989, co-producing Ultima VI and Wing Commander and producing Ultima Underworld and Ultima Underworld 2, Ultima VII: Serpent Isle, System Shock, Wings of Glory, Bad Blood, Martian Dreams and others. In 1997, after a year as General Manager of Looking Glass Austin and producer on Thief: The Dark Project, Warren started Ion Storm Austin. He was project director on Ion's award-winning action/RPG, Deus Ex, published in June 2000 before being reissued in a 2001 Game of the Year edition. A year later, he released Deus Ex: The Conspiracy on PS2. As Ion Storm's Studio Director, he oversaw development of Deus Ex: Invisible War, released in December 2003, and Thief: Deadly Shadows, released in June 2004. He left Ion Storm in November 2004 to start a new, independent game development company
  15. I too have the intention to buy a LCD soon, but I never had one so I'm a little unexperienced with those. Do you think this is a good model? Viewsonic VA2010wb 20''
  16. The last one looks very Star War'sish (?), but without being Star Wars. The first one is a flying Ninja, because Ninjas don't walk. (duh) Well, let's wait and see and drink some tea until we get decent infos (E3?). NERD ALERT!!!!1111 OHHH WAIT!
  17. Downloaded it, watched it, like it. Music and Art is superb and very true to Fallout, but you can only go so far with a teaser.
  18. Oh and if anyone didn't notice Alexander Brandon is now Audio Director at Obsidian Entertainment (thanks, funcroc!). Woah, that's a suprise. He did the Unreal, UT and Deus Ex score which is certainly one of the most memorable. Seems like Obsidian has developed a habit to snatch away the best people in the industry and embed them straight into Fergs bosom...err company.
  19. OMG why did you mention NOLF? I want NOLF 3...like, NOW! I just bought NOLF2 from Fry's for $9.99! By "just" I mean Thursday. OMG why did you mention NOLF2? I want NOLF 3...like, NOW!
  20. Jeremy Soule didn't compose NWN2's new tracks. Still, IWD, NWN and Hotu are his best works so far.
  21. And dwarfs are fat and grumpy?
  22. OMG why did you mention NOLF? I want NOLF 3...like, NOW!
  23. What's the difference between a duergar and a dwarf btw? They all look the same to me.
  24. The pinnacle of 2D graphics would be Commandos 2 in my book. It so owns the IE.
  25. -Thief 2 for it's peculiar graphics-design -Fahrenheit for it's perfect Motion capturing -HL2+Ep1 -FEAR for it's nice artificial plastic look. And Splatter. -STALKER -TRON 2.0 for it's Realism
