  1. Too much backwards-thinking these days, hence it will never die. Well there's that and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ might have something to do with it. Well, that somehow sticks together don't you think? People fear news stuff, it's almost like in the middle age. New ideas, new subjects, people say no, want old stuff instead, people get old stuff. And only few developers/publishers seem to have the balls to break this vicious circle.
  2. Since the final name of "FEAR 2" will be decided next week, I wonder if Warner/Monolith will start leaking infos shortly after. Hey, like a playable demo for a start?
  3. Mass Effect has it's highs and downs, two things that mostly attract me are the incredible fidelity of the digital actors, and the fluid conversation system, which fits into the cinematic-style esthetics nicely. For the good ol' roots, however, I'd wait what Dragon Age has in store.
  4. Too much backwards-thinking these days, hence it will never die.
  5. We all know that the New World Order is run by Aliens now, somewhere located beneath 60 miles under New Mexico. From there, they direct the powerful people on the surface how to do things, and how to prepare the takeover. One among the most effiecient tools are video games. They manipulate the human fragile mind with dumb video games, until everyone doesn't care about real life anymore, hence making us willingly slaves. But I won't! I was down there, I shot two of them, and they burned a hole into me and I could barely escape!!!!111 Yes!......eh..yes, nurse, I'm coming. Okay people, I've to postpone that for another time. Bye!
  6. Yes, don't let them come close. Later, when you get your first Energy weapon (that Star trek like handgun), it will become cheaper to take them out. Poor bullets. I can't remember that anymore, but just try to use it and it will say you what skill you need. I think it's Heavy 1. Recommandable. Single and Triple-Shot modes, 2 different ammo types. Very effective in close range (duh). Oh well Psionics is a completely different matter. I personally never had fun with that stuff. In order to use it effectively, you would have do abandon all you weapon skills....but that just wouldn't be fun anymore. I never touched that psionic stuff. Irrational themself explained that this feature was never really implemented very well. I'd have to answer that with a definite "YES", good sir. Just be careful of the monkeys and the screaming cyborg mommies, though.
  7. Oh boy that was some primitive stuff. It's like I'm playing a game from the early 90s again. But the splatter-effects were nicely done. I hope Obsidian's Alien will have some gruesome splatter-effects, too. Yes!
  8. Don't invest in repair, it's a waste for your sparse cybermodules. You can find some of these French-whatever toolkits (forgot the exact name) or find new weapons that aren't broken. Better spend in maintenance in order to keep your weapon in good conditions. Once it's broken, you can throw it away, so don't let that happen. Especially the superior Assault rifle needs maintenance of 4 at least I think. And yes, maximally upgrade 2 types of weapons to 6. Standard is must in order to get the awesome Assault rifle (3 different ammo types, Single shot and Auto, uses pistol ammunition, hence cheap), I also suggest to fully upgrade Energy weapon for the later Security robots. Have at least a bit for Heavy weapons too for the Shotgun and Grenade Launcher (a must!), but don't touch the Exotic Weapon stuff, totally useless. The Plasma Gun for Heavy 6 looks cool, but don't waste your points into it, it isn't that powerful actually and does neither make much damage for robots, nor for organic lifeforms. Standard and Energy all the way! Also, Research skills are recommandable too. Also make sure to have 3 Ice-Breakers in your inventory once you face the boss. BUT I WON'T TELL YOU WHO THIS IS!!!!111
  9. buh? Still no screens, trailer and excitement for me.
  10. More like Microsoft buys Bioware. Oh no that would be more like a natural step. Still impossible, though, since they're owned by Elevation Partners. But Disney and Warren? Has Warren gone MAD?
  11. OMFG what's next? Obsidian buys Bioware?
  12. I should be able to run the game with medium details and 1280 res. Good enough for me.
  13. A new STALKER on the way, and I've not even bothered to complete the Original. Not because it's bad, but I could never reach my next destination due to silly fences or hills. So I got stuck in the bar and drank a bottle Vodka...or 7.
  14. This trailer was surely corny as hell. "Destroy the colony!" "I'll stop him!" Well at least I got Ashley without helmet to see. This years E3 is still disappointing, though. No Project Georgia, no Dragon Age, no FEAR 2 for me.
  15. Looks more like Mass Effect meets Dungeon Siege to me. Even the main guy on the screenshots looks like Shepard. Good o'l Chris Taylor surely knows where to get his..."inspirations".
  16. You mean that the board bends and the pins break loose? Now if that's true, MS should better hire some new engineers, because that'd be obvious flub.
  17. I'm not so incline in seeing a WH40k setting, actually. Authoritarian Warriors, rowdys, wifebeaters, anarchists and brutish law enforcers don't make good romances - the key ingredient for any CRPG!!!!
  18. Now wait.... You got me thinking. Warner Brothers, a digitally remastered Director's Cut of Blade Runner, Warner Brothers owning Monolith.... Monolith developing a cool Blade Runner FPS. Oh gawd wouldn't that be splendid?
  19. Are there already any screenshots/artworks available? Since it's scheduled for a Q1 2008 release, I already expect some material to show off
  20. All mentioned options are fine to me. It's after all the dev house that is responsible for the quality and entertainment value, not the franchise itself.
  21. So instead of slaying Orcs I can now slay cybernetic Space-Orcs? The game industry is full of innovations!
  22. Oh well I don't need that forced regulation nonsense. I wouldn't buy Manhunt 2 anyways due to it's tasteless content, but that's up to the person to decide, not the government. Nobody forces anyone to buy that garbage.
  23. Whatever. You can look forward to your banana comedy, I'll look forward to the next Quantic Dream game.
  24. I certainly hope so. It's really about time for a PG announcement.
  25. So you still prefer combining bananas with pots and cat hair in order to advance the story line? Sorry dude, these aren't the 90s anymore. Floor mopping > silly inventory puzzles.
