  1. Sounds good in my book, but what do you mean with "modern take"? It's just what you described what makes Thief so great. Beth would have to fullfil three requirements though: -An own team to create PC specific Interface/Controls and difficulty. I don't want to rely on fanmade mods a'la Thief:DS again in order to play a PC game like a PC game, not a console port - A better Art director that can do more than just up the Bloom slider. - Eric Brosius Nuff said
  2. I heard some nasty rumors that Bethesda is also leering at the Thief license. Now I don't really care if they screw up Fallout3 since I never really was that much interested in it, but if they touch Thief....
  3. I only drank from the fountaine, but I can't remember that there was a save option. Goddamn why just can't they put a good ol' fashioned Save button in? Anyway, I've uninstalled it, it's too linear and repetitive. Raving Rabbits is my next victim.
  4. How do I save in PoP? There's a "Load Saved Game" Option in the main menu, but it's greyed out. When I hit ESC during gameplay, I don't see any option to save, nor do I find any reference in the readme file.
  5. I didn't know Swedes like Ponies. Man, I really should start learning more about Scandinavian history.
  6. Raving Rabbits just came out last year (or was it even early this year?), and now it's already for free! Kudos to Ubisoft.
  7. Kicking Dane arses is no difficulty. And why does Karl XI have such short legs?
  8. They've Ads, though, and it's from Fileplanet. Still, I never played PoP, but I heard good things about it so I'm gonna download it right now. http://www.fileplanet.com/free_games.shtml
  9. Man, I still wonder how people find the time to play these monstrous TW games. I'm still stuck in the middle of RTW, and I bought that game, like, 3 years ago or so. Empire TW looks interesting, though. If Austria is a playable Empire, I consider buying it.
  10. No!
  11. You know you can always find a Keygen somewhere...just as a "temporary" solution.
  12. No!
  13. Ken Levine on Bioshock: The Spoiler Interview Great read!
  14. What a bunch of silly responses I got there. Never liked HALO, never will. Co-Op depends on the game itself. I've played SWAT4 with some guys online and it was fun for a while, but HALO is a no-go.
  15. For all Jagged Alliance geeks: You might want to give the JAZZ: Hired Guns demo a shot. It was once supposed to be JA 3D, but then was renamed for whatever reasons. http://www.3dgamers.com/games/jazzhiredguns/downloads/ I haven't try it yet, but I never really got into JA style games anyway. I'm a sucker for the Commandos games, however. Too bad there won't be a proper sequel.
  16. Multiplayer is so worthless. ANd if the game sucks in the singleplayer campaign, it will obviously suck in Coop too.
  17. Although everybody now played through Bioshock (except our friend Pidesco), I still recommend to read this interview with Ken Levine.
  18. If you want to do it the simple way, just look into the folders and watch all Videos via Bink&Smacker player. I prefer to play the game as I please i.e. harvest and rescue the LS as I please without restricting my playstyle just in order to get a specific ending.
  19. Those differences in the endings are worthless. It's how you play the game, not what FMV will show up in the end. Something like that is maybe critical to a Star Wars flick, but not to Bioshsock.
  20. Just as we're at plasmids and perversion, does anyone have some totally sick and unusual plasmid/weapon/environment combos to send those nutjobs into Nirvana? I never really used all that stuff too creatively, mostly because the fights were often time too fast-paced. Throwing Teddybears on fire at enemy is old. Same for Icing/Wrenching. Any ideas? Maybe I should try lifting up a splicer into the air, throw bees at him and at the same time throw a dead cat after him. Yes!!!!!
  21. You won't regret it, this game is truly a masterpiece, and a milestone in the FPS genre!
  22. Huh? Who said that? Even the developers always claimed it's a FPS. Anyways, it got depth, an incredibly well realized world and story, interesting gameplay, and still tons of possibilities to improve your character via tonics and plasmids, and is definitely worth picking up, even if the tools used to tell the story is completely unlike Bioware games. It's simlilarly strucured to System Shock 2, although the core experience is improved, and some things are worse (like the lack of an inventory).
  23. Uh whatever. A PC version would be nice for a start before I get too deeply into background talk. Is there also a background choice for "sick dirty space-bastard"?
  24. I bought the game years ago very cheaply, but I never really got into it. Maybe JA3 could change that.
