  1. Will be fun to see how well it does. It's on the second page of Top Sellers on STEAM right now (has been climbing for the last few days) and on GOG it's the second game on the Popular list (behind Witcher 3). Well, the Hero edition is, the Royal Edition is also on the list but a bit further down.
  2. So this may be my imagination playing tricks on me but do certain ambient soundbytes in the Inn fire immediately when doing certain actions. The things I've noticed are after closing down the level up screen as well as closing down a dialogue. The soundbyte in particular sounds like a drunken man laughing loudly, and it just seems to fire a lot during the circumstances I describe above. Obviously not a biggie at all, and I might be going mad here, but figured I'd throw it up here.
  3. Me neither. Maybe the PoE guys here could look into that somehow? Again, it'd be a pretty devastating blow to the presentation of the game if important cinematics lag like that.
  4. I wonder, didn't the Wasteland 2 intro use the Unity movie player then? That ran just fine for me.
  5. While I don't think the class *feels* really good to use, I think it's also important to note that the pet fills a purpose that isn't just the "pure damage output" purpose. Just having an extra party member (though of course much weaker than a "real" party member) is a boon of its own, like the above post says. I wish there was something more though, it just doesn't feel all that fun to me.
  6. Ugh, that's gonna suck if there are more cinematics in the game. The presentation of the game will take a huge hit if this occurs for a lot of people.
  7. I get this also sometimes, Spirit-Shift seems kinda wonky at times.
  8. Despite the game running pretty well on my rig overall (get some FPS slowdown in the Skaen temple), the little resting cinematics are quite choppy for me which seems a bit strange. I thought that was just the way they looked until I saw a video of someone else playing (think it may have been one of the recent showings of the game) where they were much smoother. Seems kinda weird that a simple thing like that should cause FPS drops. 9. Personally I would much rather have a completely new story with a new character and such.
  10. While we forumites can be a regular pain in the behind, and I'm sure that direct connection between backer and OEI can be stressful at times, you can't really compare the two in my opinion. For one simple thing, a publisher can force changes into a game. Kickstarter backers cannot. While there's a certain sense of entitlement for us backers, the truth is that OEI will have the decision in *their* hands at the end of the day. A publisher can force them to release the game early, or in an unfinished state. Of course, there are things that are easier with a publisher as well (you know they'll handle the PR stuff and all that from the get-go) but OEI will be a lot more free with kickstarter. And I'm sure that's a welcome change.
  11. Just noticed that some of the creatures in the dungeon in Stormwall Gorge (with the weird name) has a creepy ambient sound now so you can hear them before you run into them. Nice little touch and it worked wonderfully for this particular creature. I've been playing with headphones on lately and and the ambient soundscape seem to be coming together nicely.
  12. http://www.rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=9818 It's a bit ways down in the article but it's a real nice interview. Looks like there *might* be two expansions planned.
  13. I would definitely back it, no question. Not sure on the pledge level though, it would have to depend largely on the rewards.
  14. You can deceive Medreth, I believe it's a Resolve check.
  15. There is some wonkiness with the beetles on my end as well. I'm guessing it's related to the dig ability, it happened just as I played now. Basically, the beetle teleported to right next to my party and then it immediately did the dig ability to a new spot. EDIT: Then again, there was a teleport bug in the latest Pax presentation as well with a Pngwa so maybe it's just not related to beetles.
  16. The latest backer beta has indeed added a good amount of ambient sounds so I'm not too worried on that front anymore. I also like that we can softly hear the inn music just outside the inn, just like in the Baldur's Gates.
  17. My computer is much older than 3 years old but, like I said, when I can run Alien: Isolation on max settings and have it run flawlessly it is a bit disappointing and weird to have choppy framerate in a game like PoE. And PoE is a game that I think would really benefit from running well on computers that are a lot older as well as I would imagine many players who have grown tired of the AAA games (and thus haven't upgraded their computers in a long while) might be very interested in this.
  18. Given that the game (understandably) really doesn't have much in the way of tuning down graphics, I'd say that squeezing more performance out of the game would be pretty good. And of course, that allows more people to play the game which is always good. I guess Unity's gonna Unity but it's a bit strange that I get less FPS from the Skaen temple than I get from Alien: Isolation (extremely well optimized game that). The again, Wasteland 2 ran like crap for me as well and it also... well, *looked* like crap to boot.
  19. To be frank, it's just one additional slider for voice volume. So that leaves us with Master, Music, Sound effects and Voice. Surprised that they managed to get it in before launch, but I'm really happy they did. I hope they can crank out even more options for a patch or the expansion for those of us who are sensitive about sound.
  20. I think this was mentioned somewhere earlier but I'm getting much worse FPS in the Skaen temple with this backer beta.
  21. This is music freshly captured from the beta by myself. It could be that part of the synth recordings are kept and blended with the orchestra. There are changes in the arrangement as well, some things were added. There have been some additions to the main theme since the last backer beta as well but I can't be buggered to upload the new version of it.
  22. So the newest backer beta introduced yet a few "makeovers" with the old music, introducing the versions with full orchestra. Here's the music for Dyrford for those interested.
