  1. Exactly, the dialogue started and I immediatly eye rolled realizing it was all of Salvatore's work. It doesn't get any better from there. Even the people that sing its praises have never finished it.
  2. Heh, GameSpot gave the DOS2 console version a 10/10, that's pretty neat given how it's basically a niche game and I always had my doubts about bringing these kinds of games to consoles. I mean, I heard the DOS console port was pretty good, but it's still nice to see this kind of enthusiasm from a mainstream review site. I also liked Kingdoms of Amalur, though I have yet to finish it. Another one of the (rather long by now) list of games I started but never finished. Afaik 38Studios was also working on a rather promising MMO project (which iiuc is what bankrupted the studio), so maybe we'll be seeing something there as well? I definitely wouldn't mind a new MMORPG that focuses on those last three letters and doesn't shy away from some systems complexity. Iirc the head of the studio was former baseball player Kurt Schilling, and he got in trouble with the state over loans causing the studio to be shut down or something along those lines. I never liked the game because it was written by R.A. Salvatore.
  3. Star Trek is dying because CBS' Les Moonves hates sci-fi and had refused to let anything happen with the franchise besides STD. The JJ Abrhams Star Trek is done by Paramount who had the licensing to do something different from the Main ST series, which they did. They are also in a bid to get the original ST thrown out in favor of their version, which is likely if CBS ever remerges with Viacom.
  4. If only we could get something more akin to the original non-Jedi version of Star Wars Galaxies.
  5. On Asian market I believe (DQ10 was on WiiU and PS4, DQ9 was on 3DS, they were Japanese language only) , so it doesn't really count for 90% of gamers - even if 90% of DQ's fanbase in Asia based. They've stated several times that if DQ11 does well in the West that they will do proper (actual) releases for both 9 and 10. We'll see if they will stay true to their word though. Well that explains that. I used to love the games when I was younger, but I got fed up with 7 and 8 when I got the re releases on the 3ds.
  6. On what though?
  7. Whatever happened to 9 and 10?
  8. I imagine they would have left for one of the unofficial BioWare forums. Hopefully DQ9 won't be as archaic as the rest in the series.
  9. I know who she is but I don't see any similarites. The only thing I can think people connect is the similar haircut. Christy Mack is unattractive though - very odd looking imo, at least the Cyberpunk character looks cute I get the feelings it's because of the hair cut and the similarity to her before she started getting minor face work done/got older, and definitely before the incident. I'm unsure why people had to point out the perceived similarity though. Anthem will either flop or be a surprise success. I'm still betting on a flop, but it can be seen as a success if it is better than the poor opinion most people; that don't drink the BioWare Koolaid; have on the game.
  10. So what did you end up watching and how did you like what you saw? I ended up watching your suggestion, Army of Darkness. Weird and outdated effects, Comical writing, and bizarre sound effects... It was all I ever wanted.Thank you majestic! If you enjoyed it, you might like to know that they then made a tv series 20 years on that follows on what happens to Ash... It's currently in it's third season now. And then it was cancelled. The Plinkett review pointed out how TLJ seemed to be made like a comedy film, and it really does seem that way. Every single beat in the first half of the film from the lightsaber, the momma joke, Finn walking up, etc would work in a comedy film not related to Star Wars and not directed by Rian Johnson. I get the feeling Johnson had little to no oversite until the editing process began and Disney finally saw how much of a **** up Johnson had produced and Lucasfilm had allowed. We also had the firing of Colin Trevorrow from Episode 9, which was originally reported to be because of how difficult he is to work with, but it later came out that he protested the way Luke was treated in TLJ because he wanted to use Luke as one of the main heroes. We also have Daisy Riddley saying that Johnson discarded all of the notes that Abrams had left for Episode 8, which later turned into there were no notes; Mark Hammil's continued protesting over how he hated the way Johnson wrote Luke; the extreme drop off in ticket sales the second week; the poor turn out in China; and finally the firing of Lord and Miller from Solo. There was probably some belief that Solo would be able to stand on it's own, but the response Disney/Lucasfilm gave to the negative response of TLJ likely ended up contributing to Solo bombing. Which leaves Disney trying to figure out a way to make sure the Star Wars brand recovers, but since they seem to be placing all of their eggs in one basket by supporting Episode 9 over other spin off movies they may fail spectacularly.
  11. Only if you choose to interpret it as being cowardly. I've never been a fan of dump stats, but I've mentioned that before in one if your build threads. *Insert obligatory comment about Bleak Walkers or how awesome Durance is*
  12. Not sure you wanted it spoiled or not. but: Pretty strange that Furrante of all people comments on finally meeting a dragonslayer. Yeah, it's funny. For me, he always defaults to "It's not everyone who can make an ally of the Doemenels and make it out alive." Which, considering I've also killed two archmages, seems much less impressive. Well the Doemenels are essentially a mafia family, so it stands to reason that their allies are always in a tentative position provided they lack the ability to massacare the entire family. They're still not as bad as say three dragons, ancient fampyrs, a couple death knights, scores of bandits, and two archemages.
  13. Yeah - Honestly, as evil as I plan to be with this character, I can't really fully commit to sacrificing a companion. Even with my "evil" characters I never received Gift of the Machine and never supported anything benefitting Skaen, besides killing Harond or whatever that nobles name was.
  14. Yes, I know, I just get annoyed when people insinuate that Bleak Walkers are supposed to be "lol so evil" on principle. Don't get me started on the Durance hate either.
  15. Or you can not do that because there are other ways to gain the disposition. Bleak Walkers are generally not sadists, they are cruel and merciless in order to bring a quick end to a conflict. If the Valaera/Bardatto's were to hire a Bleak Walker it would be to either massacare the other side or to bring the other side to the table with the threat of being massacarred; which is a valid way of finishing it diplomatically without any unfavorable dispositions. Was the Bleak Walker hired to kick the beggar, if not then don't kick the beggar. Bleak Walkers also have the ability to decline jobs, as mentioned by IndaneCommander, it is entirely valid for a Bleak Walker to disagree with a job and not take it; and then murder the guy if you disagree with his reasoning. However, with the Sky Dragon in PoE1, a Bleak Walker is hired to kill it, so they will kill it. The dragon has no understanding of what a Bleak Walker is, and would likely feel superior to one regardless.
  16. Support Domenalls, give to Galawain, spare Durance because he's awesome, kill the pale elves around the frost hewn breach, Dragon possession, work with Adaryc (he's going mad from being a watcher whether he realizes it or not).
  17. I actually thought this was one of your threads. Which isn't a bad thing since you do offer inspiration and we do need more RP themed builds in this section. Anyways, I'd recommend Holy Slayer, mostly because I always love Paladins that aren't bound to be Lawful Good, and because Holy Slayer is actually quite useful. You can teleport around with Escape, you get access to a Blind, and I haven't really gotten too high level with my HS yet so thats all I know. I just need to work out a good script for the AI.
  18. >.> You only get a plushie if you payed them 500$? Thats a bit expensive..The game is already worth 75$ and isnt even complete (never seen a offline game with so many bugs before, and FPS issues) Technically there still making it. That plushie better be durable and radioactive proof, being able to survive any nuclear blast, made of the most finest materials only the heavens can offer, making it resistant to dirt, and when you touch it, it's texture better make you have some kind of internal orgasm that gives you the feel of grandeur. When you hug it it better have a chip that says your name, tells you it loves you, and makes chronic oinking sounds randomly. It better be able to be used as a toilet paper that never gets soiled if for some reason you need it for those weird purposes. You haven't seen as many bugs in other single player games? Were you too young to buy Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines when it first came out?
  19. Let's approach your question as a problem to solve. The requirement basically is to find the best build between following 11 combinations: - priest of skaen - priest of skaen / barb - priest of skaen / chanter - priest of skaen / cipher - priest of skaen / druid - priest of skaen / fighter - priest of skaen / monk - priest of skaen / paladin - priest of skaen / ranger - priest of skaen / rogue - priest of skaen / wizard Plus figure out the best subclass if multi-classed. And bonus points if going Skaen is superior to other deities. You know.. nothing fancy/stellar comes to mind. The most obvious synergy is, as Dr <3 mentioned: skaen/assassin. The important thing here is that you get bonus Finishing Blow uses, Shadowing Beyond (for Assassinate) and Escape which might be used with Salvation of Time. As for weapon, let's think: you start from stealth. Offhand weapon won't get Assassinate bonus nor stealth recovery bonus. Thus: - while you can assassinate: heavy 2H or unique weapons with dps oriented per-rest procs - when you run out of means to going invis: heavy DW (if you have guile left) or The Red Hand (otherwise) for steady dps. For example you can open up from stealth with: - Dragon's Dowry, - Skewer from Spearcaster, - Thunderous Report / Wild Barrage from Kitchen Stove - Storm Rune Shot from Thundercrack - Rod with Modal on While for steady dps to consider dual-wielding two out of: Xefa's Empirical Explication, Fire in the Hole, Kitchen Stove, Thundercrack, Scordeo Trophy. You could also consider: - priest of Skaen / bleakwalker or wayfarer, who mainly deals damage via full-attacks but can also occasionally toss Lay on Hands, Liberating Exhortation, Divine Mark or Consecrated Ground. Plus Cleansing Flames and Storm of Holy Fire in the late game. - priest of Skaen / sharpshooter with Thundercrack/Scordeo Trophy spamming Accurate Wounding Shot with Finishing Blow. Cleansing Flames should also double wounding dps. P.S. Wouldn't say that these are really good and specialized builds. But should be viable enough. To the best of my knowledge, you can not pair classes that gain a benefit from a banned disposition. Skaen disallows Aggressive but Bleakwalker loves it, and Kind Wayfarer disallows Cruel which Skaen loves.
  20. Magran's Favor? Alright, I'll look into that. I like the idea of a battleaxe wielding pirate too - boarding axes were used a lot. Is it something I could get fairly early on, or is it one of those I can only get in the endgame? You can get it around level 14 if you handle the fights with the tried and tested try to pull 1 or 2 guys at a time method. Its found at Kohopa's Fang, the northern most island in Magran's Teeth, its directly east of Junvik.
  21. I couldn't care less about the Huana, they've already lost, they just aren't smart enough to realize it. Rauatai is handling assimilation by giving benefits to the less off, the Kauru and Roparu, while waiting for the Mataru to cause trouble before clamping down on them. The Mataru are the warrior/leader caste and will do exactly what those classes have down throughout history, violentaly fight against it. The Wahaki are already waging a war against all outsiders, admittedly due to influence by Thaos, but even they aren't stupid enough to not accept the aid of Mataru fighting assimilation. This in turn would result in a conflict as bloody, if not worse due to geography, as the American Indian Wars.
  22. Then the list is of little relevance, right? Because judging weapons based on their description alone doesn't work well. Take Scordeos Edge: you can't know that its bonuses work for all weapons you use unless you used it. You'd have to test it to find out. Also that Grave Calling and Hel Beckoning can be used to summon imps that don't count towards the summon limit and let you create a huge imp army (if you pair it with the right classes) can only be experienced by testing (or reading people's posts about testing). Another example (not one-handed though): the Espirs estoc will proc Ghost Blades on kill. That's the description. Sounds rather lame because Ghost Blades only have 8-11 base damage. What the description doesn't say and what you can only find out via testing is that those Ghost Blades profit from the enchantments of the blade, from all passive abilities that work with the blade (e.g. Sneak Attach, Two Handed Style etc.). And that not only kills with the Blade trigger those "empowered" Ghost Blades but all kills as long as you hold the weapon. This includes the Ghost Blades themselves which can therefore proc themselves. So, the difference between description and actual behavior is huge. There are so many behaviors that only get revealed once you use an item - a tier list (partially) based on item description is rather pointless in my opinion. You are taking the statement "I haven't tested them all" and turn it into "I have done 0 tests" which is a strawman argument and very disingenuous. He's taken your statement and applied it to the weapons that you think are ****. How do I know that? Your very description and ranking of Grave Calling and Hel Beckoning indicates that you think very poorly of them, however testing indicates that they are quite powerful. He didn't make a strawman argument, maybe you should learn what one is before you start throwing it around.
