  1. Back during launch I did try to build a witch build here on the forum. I dont know what's been nerfed exactly, but I also ran mine as a beserker/soul blade so this may not fully apply to you. Like you, I also prefer roleplay stats so I raised dex/int/and perception to ~16 (before Berath's blessing) with roleplay stats also adjusted for.
  2. They're not counted as a clan according to the Paradox forum.
  3. Persona 5 The Royal has been announced: http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019/04/persona_5_the_royal_is_an_enhanced_version_of_persona_5_launches_on_ps4_this_year_in_japan
  4. Supposedly, but we know less about it than we do Bloodlines 2. It's been in development for a few years now, was supposed to release in 2018, and has switched publishers.
  5. Frostbite was developed to look great and for FPS games, it had absolutely nothing required to develop RPGs.
  6. BioWare was also subject to being forced to develop games with Frostbite, which is a ridiculously difficult engine to code for. With Fallen Order and Apex Legends developed with UR4 and an updated Source Engine it may be likely the suits at EA will stop trying to deel throat Frostbite.
  7. It's being published by Paradox not made by them.
  8. Cara killed someone's cat, otherwise it can be found online already.
  9. You are clearly unaware of Deus Vult Simulator 2 or Mass Genoicide in Space with Slavery.
  10. I'm not aware of this, but Paradox did step in to force a rewrite of a VtM supplement a few months ago, after the perpetually offended claimed it contained passages that were "disrespectful" to LGTBQ+ groups. White Wolf had their editorial independence taken away as a result and is now just a brand manager. Whether that constitutes "censorship" is debatable, but Paradox have a well-earned reputation for coming down hard on speech they don't approve of. That was due to the outrage the Chechens had about it than it really was a the LGTB*alphabet soup* community. Paradox also allows murdering children, incest, slavery, mass genocide, eating of other creatures, Deus Vulting, Devil Worship, and other family friendly topics in their games.
  11. Its VtM Version 5, the latest version. It's not The New World of Darkness (Chronicles of Darkness). V5 starts in 2008 with the metaplot being Gehenna itself. On a side note, you start as a THINBLOOD vampire, you are not part of the clans. You were created during a mass embrace by someone.
  12. That needed the patches to make it really playable.
  13. I haven't used them yet because I had Win7. And I still won't use them because ... I don't want to give them any more support than I already do via their O/S. It's not rational perhaps but yeah. I can sort of understand a perspective that extreme measures might be needed in order to get consumers to move away from what are current clients. People are often resistant to change of course. But I'd prefer/like if they could offer something more concrete to the consumer - like, different services/abilities Steam does not, or something along those lines - then "buying" exclusivity. Even something like a longer refund policy, like extending it to 3 or 4 hours played instead of just 2. Or how about being able to play Offline mode without having to login to Online to tell it to go Offline, first. Or a "revert to last version" patch ability in case the most recent patch makes you unable to play for some reason. Stuff like that. If you buy a game from the EGS you own it, the same as buying from GoG. The game can not be taken away from you if you get banned from your account, or removed from your Library by either GoG or EGS. Unlike with Steam where none of that is true. That right there is an improvement. I started using Steam under protest when it seemed that all of the series I liked at the time required Steam. I bought a physical copy of Empire Total War and Shogun 2 and was immediately forced to use Steam. The only thing the disc was good for was for running the Steam installer!
  14. No benefit to engaging with people angry about it.Oh I dunno about that. It may not be PLEASANT to engage with angry people, but having a presence, explaining as much as they can how the decision happened, maybe noting what additional features gamers will get in the game as a result of the extra cash infusion going exclusive means down the road, showing understanding of why not everyone is thrilled... Going radio silent isn't the worst kind of damage control that can be used (that would be, for example, Diablo Immortal's "Don't you guys have phones?"), but it's not exactly optimal either. Right now, it's pretty clearly understood what the benefit to Obsidian and Take Two is, but the benefits to the customers are less clear. What are they supposed to say exactly? "explaining as much as they can how the decision happened, maybe noting what additional features gamers will get in the game as a result of the extra cash infusion going exclusive means down the road, showing understanding of why not everyone is thrilled..." Some of this for instance. Like, for example, "Because of this extra cash infusion, here is the additional things we're going to be able to put in the game without charging" or anything close to that. Essentially, show how this benefits ME, the customer, rather than just YOU, the company who has just taken something away from me for your benefit while giving nothing back. Yes, because Obsidian is clearly getting a cash infusion seeing as they are self publishing this game...oh...wait... Private Division made the deal, Private Division profits from the deal, Obsidian is clearly at fault. Woe to humanity since this mindset is popular.
  15. Yes, a tweet written in PR speak clearly shows that Obsidian wanted the deal...

  17. That's nonsense, given speed in which they're releasing fairly major features, it's quite obvious that Epic never really intended to release all client features at once - I'm willing to bet most of these features are baked into the client in various stages of development already, it's just a QA nightmare to release software with all of its bells and whistles enabled from the get go. It makes much more sense to spread features out into a bigger time period to ensure that the basis on which said features are built upon is fleshed out. I'd also like to point out that the client is not in any way broken - feature incomplete and broken are two very different things. Edit: Not offering refunds is BS and, again, violation of European law, but - y'know, they'll sort that out, they don't really have much of a choice in the matter itch.io - those small devs get a much bigger cut and more freedom in how they want to price their product over there as well. Itch.io also strongly discourages sale of Steam key and instead semi-forces developers to upload standalone installers You're either using Windows or are concerned about your privacy when using software. Yes, the two are mutually exclusive. I hope you don't have an Android phone/iPhone as well as drawing a line at Epic store would be line drawn so far nobody'll see it - "Corporations can have all my telemetry on PC and phone usage, my precise location at any point in time and details like that, but damn them if they'll ever get my gaming habits down! ... I mean, outside of Steam. Steam can have those of course." You won't change my mind. You can love epic as much as you want, you can even date sweeney, if you like, but mark my words: As soon as they've defeated Steam, with my dear GoG being colleteral damage, they'll cut the percentage for the developer and stop caring about the customer at all. They're not the good guys. There are no good guys with the big players, and I consider Steam the much lesser evil for me.I have bought games on Steam when Itch.io wasn't even a thing. Which doesn't mean that I hadn't checked out Itch.io before. And no, I don't have such a phone. I don't have Facebook, or Instagram, or Twitter, or Whatsapp, or whatever you want. I have a certain degree of privacy left. You, obviously, don't. I'd rather stop gaming entirely than install Epic, unless they change their data policy to my liking. Then, and only then, I might buy there. Maybe you don't mind being the willing consumer puppet of shady companies like that, but I do. And with Windows, I can at least pretend that my data isn't willingly handed over to a repressive government that doesn't give a dog's mess on human rights. You're not changing my mind, because I'm too stubborn for you, so stop waisting your time trying. I'm done with this discussion, and now I might just as well read a good old fashioned book. Printed on paper, without illegal data mining and totally unplugged. Of course they will change, they're just trying to actually compete with Steam. The end result is hopefully that Steam will actually change some of their anti-consumer practices. GoG going under is unfortunate, but GoG doesn't really have a way to really compete with Steam either.
  18. To be fair (And I myself am pissed) - Obsidian isn’t owned by Private Division. They just have the publising roights (which sadly also includes the right to choose distribution channels) - Future Obsidian titles will most likely not be on the Epic store, rather on Steam considering Microsofts recent moves. Then I will consider - with some very suspicious scrutiny, thanks to all of this - future Obsidian title purchases. But by that same token, this means that this situation in particular is as much on Obsidian's head as Private Division's, because not being owned by PD means that Obsidian chose to deal with a company that has no qualms about harming its customers. So my grudge with Obsidian isn't really abated by all that much from learning this. The EGS wasn't even in existence when Obsidian signed with Private Division. Divination does not exist in reality.
  19. Don't worry, Tencent already has your information. Also, every company treats you like the peasant you are! I also blame developers who had no say in where their publisher wants to release the game.
  20. Ideally, competition should benefit the end customer. Epic Games IS competing against Steam, but in a way that makes things worse off for individual gamers. Restricting the choice of platform that a game can be purchased on to a platform that lacks a multitude of features that Steam has is objectively bad for individual gamers. It may be a form of competition, and certainly the fact that many people have a huge number of games already on Steam and are in no hurry to fracture/split their libraries with another launcher is a large roadbloack to Epic to try and compete on a level playing field, but the way to solve that roadblock should be to make the Epic Launcher objectively better to use than Steam. In other words, to make gamers WANT to switch over by offering better pricing, a better user experience, etc. rather than FORCING them to by holding a metaphorical gun to their heads. "Use our launcher or don't get to play (fill in the blank) game." Simply buying up exclusives is the easier route to go, certainly, but it's not the way to win friends and influence people among ordinary gamers IMHO. With Steam having a monopsony, mostly being the sole provider, on PC games Epic is trying to gain a foothold through exclusivity. They already have a better product in that you actually own the games you purchase, no DRM, and offering free games; they just lack the user base. Steam forces DRM and you are basically "renting" every single game you've bought, and Steam also has exclusives (Total War, previously Bethesda, the Civilization series, etc). If the end result changes any of Steams anti-consumer policy then this is great, if it doesn't then hopefully EGS will take over.
  21. How does getting exclusivity deals have nothing to do with competition ? Seems like nakedly being so.You don't seem to understand what the word competition means. Competition would mean Epic, Microsoft, Steam, GOG, etc a sell the game and the customers decide which store/launcher is best. Purchasing exclusivity rights is the opposite of competition. exactly. i still don't get, why there are people who do not understand something so easy like the word "Competition" That's not competition, which would be clear if proper free market economics was taught anymore. Steam has the links share of the market and will reap the most sales simply because they've been around the longest, people are too invested in their terrible service, and also makes more money from Green Man Gamig and Humble. GoG is not competitive with Steam and never will be. The only things GoG has going for it is that you actually OWN your games on it and all of those games are DRM free. Theres no reason for a Steam Drone to go around using GoG. By having exclusive games, EGS is a totally competing. They are offering a reason to use their service over Steam, besides being DRM free and allowing you to OWN any games purchased on it. GoG tried this with Throbebreaker and within a month of launch it was released on Steam, which is why GoG is not competitive.
  22. I'm just going to point out that if you own it on Steam, you don't really own the game. If Steam decides to ban you, you lose access to all of those games. Steam is Pro-Consumer!
  23. See a group of full plate enemies? Cast create pit. An enemy caster? Cast create pit. A dragon? Cast create pit.
