  1. Well that's going to be a pain to play on a controller.
  2. Imperator Rome is also available as a pre-order on GOG, if you prefer DRM free version of this Grand Strategy game. https://www.gog.com/news/preorder_imperator_rome I would strongly recommend that anyone even remotely contemplating preordering a PDX product take a look at the complete ****show that is the latest Stellaris patch/DLC combo release. They have a long-standing reputation for shoddy releases and that shows that they are not getting better at this. The recent appointment of a new CEO straight from an online gambling firm (!) isn't exactly reassuring either. I look forward to trying it out, but Paradox's dlc practices were already hideous to begin with, so this new gambing CEO will probably make that quagmire of greed deeper. If we take Crusader Kings 2 as an example, the game was released in 2012 and has had continuing development since then. Meanwhile we have had 5 releases in the Total War series, not counting the DLCs from Shogun, that have all been released around $59.99 each with DLCs ranging between $17-39. CK2 with all of the DLCs comes to ~$140 if on a sale, which is quite common. Paradox is generally around the level of Obsidian when it comes to bugs however.
  3. Yes, and all the kids are too young to know that.
  4. This gives me hope, but I get the feeling I still wouldn't enjoy the game.
  5. Just the AAA stuff. Sunless Skies is going to rule hard. I don't know about that, Sunless Seas was enjoyable for a few hours; but it wasn't really that compelling.
  6. Insert games with really long development times that were absolutely horrible here.
  7. Hopefully it gets a PC release too.
  8. Bethesda's story is that access to the secret dev room is impossible without third party tools. If so, this is fundamentally no different from aimbotters in PUBG. Of course Bethesda would say that, but absent an adequate explanation from the affected parties, I have no reason to disbelieve that. I mean, it's a toss-up between publishers and (online) gamers as to who is worse. Since it's on Bethesda's antiquated engine, any way to exploit it would be well known at this point and likely wouldn't require actual third party tools.
  9. That's not going to happen since it is caused by the human brain not the technology.
  10. Please stop with the VR crap. Its downfall has always been, and always will be, that the human brain is unable to actually process the differentiation between VR and Reality causing motion sickness etc. This is sadly true, although I'm still hoping that the Ttails of X games get ported over to English/PC since I got into the series with GoG's recent sale. Sony liey will not have it, since they get more sales by just "remastering" games.
  11. Yeah, you can... kinda wait. I've got both and haven't finished either so far. They're good games, sometimes even amazing, but there's something lacking. In case of Breath of the Wild that's easier to put a finger on, it's not Zelda enough for a Zelda game. Yeah, I bought it with my Switcn and i was instantly underwhelmed.
  12. Yes, but it's not as bad as Skyrim...yet...
  13. Discover them yourself when you become active again instead of letting others spoil that fun for you! Yeah, some of us don't have the time to actually test these things in game.
  14. BioWare fans used to hear more from Lukas before that Straight White Male dared to write a lesbian character! It caused quite the uproar on the forum before it was put down.
  15. It was just an observation that may explain why they're going hardcore on the macrotransactions, nothing more. Well avoiding said games allows for some amusement. And I had thought they wouldn't push the envelope after GTA:O. Silly me GTA5 still regularly makes the beat seller list despite being 5 or so years old. It's only natural that they copy the exact formula.
  16. So Fallout 76 has been on sale (on console) for $29.99 since the second week after release at most retailers, which is usually the first sign of poor sales. The fact that Bethesda is charging $20 for in game transactions is them trying to recoup their losses.
  17. What is this conclusion based on besides 'this is the viewpoint I want to condemn'?Have you followed the romance threads for BioWare games? There was a troll post analyzing the TASTE of Tali's Sweat from one of the Mass Effect games, her fan base took it seriously that spawned hundreds of pages of actual discussion on how "good" it would taste. I dunno, that sounds fun at least. Think id rather read that than thousands of words of contention and negativity. Thirst is the great uniter. You weren't there for the great Miranda War of 2011. All of the Miranda-manners declared a holy war on the fans of the other romances. There were no survivors.

There was a troll post analyzing the TASTE of Tali's Sweat from one of the Mass Effect games, her fan base took it seriously that spawned hundreds of pages of actual discussion on how "good" it would taste. This doesn't even touch on the Miranda war...
  19. So Todd Howard still gets his "It just works" bonus.
  20. i was actually a fan of this approach. rivalmances are sexy af and offer means for different mc concepts to pursue the same character. im sad nothing more came from this. There was a lot to like about the roleplaying options presented in Dragon Age 2, but since the reception for the game was so negative all of the good changes were tossed out leading to Dragon Age Blandquisition.
  21. Romances water down roleplaying by forcing the player to tailor their dialogue and choices to what the target prefers in order to nail the romance: "My character doesn't support X action but I'll support it because I want to romance R". Strangely, this is something interesting that Dragon Age 2 addressed by allowing "Rivalry" romances. Hawke and the romance could disagree about choices, but still come together by the power of player sexual attraction! Which was universally panned and sabotaged with the colors/names Blue/Friendship and Red/Rivalry to denote the relationship status.
  22. You forget what forum you are on if you think 'egotistical' is a bad thing. And you are unfamiliar with forums if you think this one is the only one with that problem.
