Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire
Vitalis replied to no1fanboy's topic in Computer and Console
Generally things do not stack in Pathfinder, which was a design decision for the tabletop to deal with the abuse some players would go to to end up with 40AC (I played with such a person). However, there are different types of bonuses that do stack. Bracers of Armor do not attack with armor, these are for your Wizards/Sorcerers. Rings of Protection give a deflection bonus to AC and that stacks with armor. There is another accessory that gives a Dodge bonus that stacks with Armor and Deflection. Feats will stack with anything regardless of what type of bonus it is simply because it is a feat. As for the spells I do not recall, but in general it is always better to have a higher Save DC on your spells. -

And a tip straight from one of the loading screens that actually help against them (if you have any useful AoE spells, or any AoE prolly), you can use "control" on your keyboard to lock AOE onto targets, and then toggle with "control" to unlock and redo it, if needed. Unless you happen to not have an arcane caster, then you're screwed. Or you can buy alchemist fire flasks, but why do that when you can whine because the game is "too hard". The game gives you a hint and a couple of flasks, it's your fault if you refuse to make use of them not the games. -

Have you fought one of those swarms that they throw at you at level 2? The ones that you can only kill with fire spells or 10-20 alchemist fires? That stuff really isn't fun. I think most people can agree that there are aspects of the system that are convoluted and outdated. Yes, they're not difficult. -
Yeah! Even the Ubi-haters gotta admit, they make some great games and even excluding that fact, what affects a big company like that affects smaller companies since the industry functions as an ecosystem. Ubisoft ending would be harmful to the industry and beneficial to nobody. I'm glad they won too, love alot of their games Well Vivendi was the reason Ubisoft ended up getting a **** reputation anyways.

Yeah an established system that is beyond flawed. The sliders make it even worse because it means they don't even have to bother tuning encounters or anything, just tell the players to mess with the settings. Why craft a reasonable challenge when you can just boost the enemy stats to ridiculous proportions? And how is it flawed? -
Gave it a shot as well, mostly because the supposedly good housing system. Didn't much mind the graphics but the story was so cringeworthy (even by MMO standards) that I really couldn't find any motivation to trod on. The game that saw content removed from Guild Wars 2. Good riddance. Wait what? What content and how? NCSoft afaiu only "publishes" GW2, but ArenaNet is pretty independent otherwise. Oh, related news: GW2 also pulled their "lootboxes" in Belgium (hell, Belgian players couldn't even buy "premium currency" for a while). Guess those things weren't as innocent as they always claimed In Divinities Reach the Western Section of the city was supposed to be where refugees from the Asian inspired Cantha were stationed. At launch it was just a sinkhole and was later turned into what it is now during the Queens Jubilee Living Story Season 1. It was removed because NcSoft believed it would take away from their upcoming MMO Wildstar, which had Asian Themes.

Well the rule of thumb is that at character creation one should if at all possible strive for at least 14 in Dexterity so as to get the AC bonus from that.As well as improving your initiative. It's also true of Constitution if you're a squishy (1d6). -

It's a swarm, 1 HP equals how many of the critters are in the swarm. Regular attacks against the swarm will do half damage, magic attacks will do full damage. -
That's insane.

I don't think there's really difficulty in Pathfinder as far as I've played, it's just badly balanced added to mechanics that are either frustrating or poor fit for a CRPG, a battle can end up with your party wiped in 3 secs or without a scratch, randomly. It's a shame because I'm liking many other things about the game. The difficulty affects how much damage the party takes from normal attacks as well as crits. As with the tabletop, the targeting should go as follows Mages/Alchemist > Ranged > Melee, but this also depends on your party composition. If you're a party of ranged squishies then chances are you're going to be ****ed by melee due to Attacks of Opportunity. The only part that is random is the damage dealt/recieved/healed and hits/misses, but that's true for most games anyway. But it's clearly just because it's a very difficult game and like totally unbalanced... -

And as per tradition you can't romance her. Curse this hollow world.Alas, when will our demands for Viconia 2.0 be heard? On reflection, I'm thinking about restarting as a Magus. Someone convince me not to. Per the tabletop there are four builds for a magus, Strength, Dexterity, pure Intelligence, and Charisma if you choose the archetype (don't). While all are effective the general consensus is that the Dex build is far superior. 7/8 16 14 16 8/10 8 With your racial set where you want that would be the general idea for ability scores, armor would be light, and weapon would be rapier or scimitar. For the tabletop the spells you would want to focus on are Shocking Grasp and other touch spells, though I think SG is the only level 1 spell added in the game. Having not played a Magus in this yet I can't really say what spells/feats would be a good choice past that. -

As expected, the races were heavily slashed, same with the classes, and some of the archetypes chosen are the worst. I was also hoping for more portraits, oh well. -
Well, posting for members' benefit and getting response is the chief purpose of a forum - behind providing a setting to abuse other people easily. So it seems strange to spam a board gratify one's self alone, and if you like to write but just for yourself, you can write a novel or blog. The thread is for posting game news, he is posting game news, whether or not he's spamming is a question for the moderators to decide. What I can say is that the 10 or so posts people like yourself have used to criticize him is NOT game news, so now if anyone is looking for game news they need to filter through your snobbery in order to find it. I don't see how that's much of an improvement to his "spamming".

No! I knew they were going to shaft the Witch and Warpriest. The Witch is one of the best classes that can be used for rebuffing, think 3.5 Warlock with some damage but better. Any level of witch can completely shut down encounters be it with a continually increasing Slumber or with the varied amount of debuffs that can be tossed around. A level 1 witch with slumber can bring experienced DMs to table flipping mode! The Warpriest is basically a Fighter combined with a Cleric, which turns into a better Paladin than a Paladin. The only alignment requirement is that of a cleric, which allowed evil gods to have Paladins since the Anti-Paladin is shoehorned into being Chaotic Evil. While the Witch can instigate table flips, the Summoner instigates this class is banned at this table because of their "summon". Think Ranger pet on enough steroids to make body builders feel inadequate, so it's a good thing they were cut. The Oracle is also disappointing because they were basically the Divine Caster answer to the Sorcerer, but their mechanics are very difficult to translate into a none pen and paper game. Alchemists are a surprisingly great class, so it's good they were added, but I don't recall much of Inquisitor. -

F I knew they were going to screw over a lot of the races that Pathfinder has. Let's see how poorly they handle the classes. I want my abyssal bloodrager! -
From earlier reporting, it seemed as if they spent too much on acquiring the licenses combined with not doing anything to update their animations. It points towards extremely bad management.

No, that the text snippets used to describe responses in many modern RPGs are insufficiently descriptive for a significant portion of the audience. While we're at the subject of reading, it's the point you'd not miss if you actually did. (Incidentally, English happens to not be the only language used on this planet) Yes, because I was clearly referencing reading the text in the game, and not unrelated books as evidenced by the rest of that sentence that you conveniently edited out. Those that did not learn English as their first language/as a child have a good reason for not knowing since they are inherently unfamiliar with American/British slang, but please continue your outrage.

*shrug* I get these: You're ... Still completely missing the point tho That most people no longer read, watch older shows, and know how bar fights work? Sure, it may be a term more familiar in the UK, but the term "glass x" generally has something to do with violence. Glass the planet/desert should be a more familiar term, which has to deal with extreme bombing; and if I recall correctly it was also coined for Warhammer 40k to deal with the Imperium's mass genocide of xeno scum. Look if your point is that people are getting stupider, that's not true. If they were we would be getting a lot more glassing and they would know what it was. I was unaware that stupidity was the only cause of violence.

You guys do realize that the whole point of this discussion is that the less information you give in a dialogue choice, the more difficult it is to correctly guess what was the writer's intent, right? Just write "Glass him" in google search to see why it's a valid example. Showing us how smart you are by telling us that you understand the intent just serves to reinforce the point. Second Google result after urban dictionary, which has the same thing: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glassing

I imagine Cyberpunk 2077 will beat it when it releases.

I'm reasonably certain that'd be a response of most people that wrote lines which then lead to something entirely unexpected by a large part of their audience. You've nailed a big part of the problem right there and then. It had brackets, how could they think that it was dialogue and not an action. They're dumb****s. They thought it was an action. They thought it meant buy him another glass. Then it would have said something close to the lines of buying him another glass. There was nothing in the shortened description that would have indicated doing that.
