  1. Obsidian appears to be pretty good about making the tutorials skippable. Not sure why they would break the pattern for this game.
  2. Easiest to hardest (assuming that you're lightside): Disciple - one conversation. No prerequisites. Bao-Dur - two conversations. No prerequisites. Mira - two conversations (technially three). Awareness requirement. Atton - five conversatons. Must trigger cutscene with Twi'leks on Nar Shaddaa. Handmaiden - four conversations. Must be at level 19 to trigger the sparring match that will allow you to train her. With ~ 27 levels worth of xp in the game, doesn't that seem kinda late? For DS: Disciple - one conversation. No prerequisites. Bao-Dur - three conversations. No prerequisites. Atton - three conversations. Must trigger cutscene with Twi'leks on Nar Shaddaa. Handmaiden - four conversations. Must be at level 19 to trigger the sparring match that will allow you to train her. With ~ 27 levels worth of xp in the game, doesn't that seem kinda late? In both cases, Disciple is clearly the easiest to train. For male PC, Bao-Dur is the easiest. You can find a walkthrough here if you want to check it out for yourself.
  3. I read that too, but I didn't see anything that indicated that it does. Influenence moves in increments of 8 regardless of your CHA (with the exception of the buggy Nar Shaddaa refugee quad). The devs orginally had a sml/med/lrg increment system planned, but had to scrap it.
  4. It takes two conversation with Bao-Dur to make him a Jedi when you play LS and three to make him a Jedi when you play DS. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=153012 Check out his entries under Telos and the first section for Nar Shaddaa in the LS walkthrough and then Telos and the second section for Nar Shaddaa in the DS walkthrough.
  5. indeed <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Try the script provided by stoffe -mkb- in this thread posted over at Holowan Laboratories* * Some knowledge of modding required.
  6. Though apparently the Visas introduction movie is an exception, and you can download a mod that plays it with the game engine instead of the movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A lot of other movies are obviously made with the game engine then compressed in ugly .bik : * Visas introducing. * The betrayal of Sion and Nihilus in Malachor. * All the movies on Dantooine during the mercenary attack. This could be done with a mod I think, unless the content patch decides to release. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is because all crucial plot points must not be movies, otherwise the people with movies turned off (because they are so buggy) won't know what has happened. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I hate to break it to you but no movies means no movies. This includes Visas' introduction and the battle of Khoonda.
  7. Lightsaber customization is almost impossible to do smoothly using the current methodology. It's possible but crystal management is a real pain in the butt (color crystals specifically). With that said, I would love to be able to pull the hood up on the robes in K3. Of course, that would mean that the devs would have to make the hoods really big to account for clipping on the various heads. Makes it almost not worth it
  8. Dude, seriously...let it go. The stuff you're talking about seems to fit into either "user error", "cut content", or "legitimate bugs". Based on your monotonous, cry-baby responses, I'm willing to bet that most of your issues fall in the 1st category. The ending you're referring to is cut content. Not missing content, not buggy content, CUT CONTENT. As in "the devs removed it from the game". To spite us? Probably not. They probably cut it because they determined it didn't fit with the story after all, or it only made sense if you knew about something else that was also cut from the game, or some other legitimate reason you can't fathom cuz you're not on the dev team. Wanna know a secret? Every game has cut content. Even KotOR I. Many people have told you what you need to do to train Mira. Try doing it. If it doesn't work, try telling us what you tried and what happened afterwords. That will be a much bigger help than your whining. As for Handmaiden, once you gain enough INF with her, you need to go talk to Kreia. Once Kreia tells you about Handmaiden's mother, go talk to Handmaiden again. If you still can't train her, then I'd suggest that you download the savegame editor and check your INF. If you have >=90, then you've found a legitimate bug. If you don't, well then you need more INF. Happy hunting. Now, this is the 4th or 5th attempt that someone has made to actually help you. You can choose to behave like an adult or you can continue the toddler hissy-fit that you've shown us that you're capable of. What's it going to be?
  9. I'm willing to bet that the VOs are triggered by the game's engine which means that tweaking the frequency of VOs is out of the question. What you can do is take existing (less annoying) VO's and replace them with others. I made a mod that did this for Disciple, and I have to tell you, it makes a world of difference. As for w666tvr's comment, there is a Critical Hit VO, but it is only one of many. You can find all the combat VOs in the C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\StreamSounds folder (p_npcname etc etc).
  10. I'm a big fan of the game, but I also appear to be one of the lucky ones that was able to avoid a vast majority of the bugs mentioned. Some of the quirky things I've come across have been fixed by mods, some haven't. Some I've learned to live with and some still irk me. All in all, it's a really good game. If OE and LA were to negotiate a more realistic timetable for KotOR3 I would buy it sight unseen. At the end of the day, if you enjoyed KotOR, I would highly recommend TSL.
  11. My thoughts on KotOR III: I'd be very surprised to learn that Obsidian isn't developing it. There was a lot of (potential) foreshadowing in TSL and the "cliffhanger" ending leads me to suspect that whoever wrote II put some ink to paper re: III. It will obviously still center around Revan, as well as potentially, the Exile. Due to the fact that trying to write storylines for M or F, LS or DS Revan AND Exile would probably be impossible, this will probably be more of a search-for-Revan, Revan's-dead-now-what kinda story. I think they made a point in TSL to blur Revan's true motivations so that they could wash their hands of having to make KotOR gameplay choices applicable to KotOR III. As for continuing characters, I think that the devs will probably take their cues from the movies and make the droid the only consistently reoccuring characters. HK is no 3PO, but Malak wasn't exactly Darth Vader either My final thought is that I hope LA devotes a little more time to QA. I don't mind bugs in a release, but I do expect timely patches and some effort toward making quality a priority. How some of the stuff in TSL made it into the shelves, I'll never know, but I hope that a decision-maker somewhere learned a lesson from all of this. Just my 2 cents.
  12. Not to pile on... Issues that still exist after the patch. Bao-Dur's character-specific unarmed combat feats (Repulsor Strike, etc) still do not work TSF Bounty: Escaped Criminals side quest is still bugged. In fact, said criminals no longer spawn in Czerka office on Citadel Station Female Twi'lek bodies are still a different hue than the heads New issues after the patch Bizarre camera pan while Bao-Dur is joining your party.
  13. I did a thread search for "Bao-Dur" and didn't get back any results, so I'll assume that this hasn't been posted. My apologies if it has and I simply missed it. Bao-Dur's unarmed combat feats (Repulsor Strike, Electrical Strike, and Gravitonic Strike) appear to be broken. The Feat descriptions says that they stack with the default unarmed combat feats, however this does not appear to be the case. At level 26, Bao-Dur does 8-23 damage, unarmed (1-4 damage for Unarmed Specialist 1 and 4-16 damage for Unarmed Specialist IV plus a +3 STR modifier). With Gravatonic Strike, this should be 11-41 (8-23 plus 3-18).
  14. How about the bug (or poorly designed sidequest) that allows you to kill Lootra and then help Aaida to escape the Refugee Quad. Not only did I get LS points for helping her after killing her husband, I was able to go back to the flophouse and have her thank me for reuniting her with Lootra (who wasn't there). Wierd.
  15. The only resemblance that I see is that they're both bald.
  16. No conflicts unless you're running a mod that changes the AI. I don't start a game without Talchia's hardcore mod installed....or his/her Padawan mod either for that matter :D
  17. Nothing has been confirmed, however there are several rumors circulating regarding a December release date.
  18. Sticking with them for what? There's the game version and the P&P version. You now have both, so I guess it would depend on what you're using them for. PS: You can dig around in the Leviathan modules if you want to see his non-Star Forge stats. You can also look under BIFs>Templates>Blueprint, Characters to see his Jedi stats (from the Dantooine cutscene).
  19. I'd usually head right to Tatooine and pick up Yusani's Brand for Zaalbar. Later, I would make two trips to Yavin IV (after Star Maps 3 and 5) so that he could wield dual Baragwin Assault Blades. With the right utilities he's the perfect "tank" for the Star Forge.
