I believe they're actually in the D&D 2.5 (or whatever BGII was based on) rules. And I've heard from numerous people they're a prestige class in 3.5. It's not usually instant death for the caster, but you won't make a playthrough of Baldur's Gate II without causing the death of someone you didn't mean to. I once cast magic missle in the D'Arnise keep while standing at the back of the party, it Wild Surged and instead cast a high level spell that put the rest of my party to sleep. My entire group was maimed. It's funny because in BGII, it'll also Wild Surge Bhaalspawn powers. Cure Light Wounds can be a very dangerous thing to do.

Who is the Coolest KOTOR II Character?
Tale replied to AromisTallion's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think Nihilus has to be the coolest. The character design and concepts are beautiful. I read that he originally was going to be wearing Revan's skull as a mask, which is how the mask he did wear originated in design. Obviously that was changed, if true, but it's still cool. -
Running through my head.

Well, Revan had a lot of help when he came back. Malak though, well it's lonely at the top.

A wild mage is a mage with some random elements thrown into the character. All casts are modified by between -2 and +2 caster levels and there is a 5% chance of something wacky happening whenever they cast. They could accidentally change their own gender, the targets gender, cast the same spell twice, or destroy all of their own gold. I've heard of cows falling from the sky in some instances. They also get some extra spells that help them cause these wild surges to occur intentionally and modify it in their potential favor.

My Chaotic Neutral Wild Mage will pick the side of whomever is funniest. He's not a PnP character, though. I've never actually PnPed and I doubt anyone would want to with me. I get my friend's characters killed often enough in console and computer games.

I just looked at the resume of a guy who has my degree with a 3.6 GPA. He's applying for 12.00 an hour and was a Pizza Hutt driver recently. God, I hope it's just him.

I can't remember Monday and that was only 2 days ago.

I thought that was the very reason it was popular.

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 23
Tale replied to CoM_Solaufein's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I do have to disagree with your statements that it would be scratching everything we've worked on and comparing it to half a book, but I agree that I'd like it to continue with the story we were told about in Kotor 2. I think KOTOR 1 and 2 serve very well as standalone stories. Especially KOTOR 1. KOTOR 2's hints about Revan don't alter any of it, nor does the idea of the Exile going to join Revan at the end of 2. Now, if the true Sith were behind the events of KOTOR 1 and 2 and we were to at least be aware of that as we went through 1 and 2, my opinion would be different. It felt more like a distinct lead-in to 3 than a genuine continuating of what was going on. However, like I said, I am very curious to see what could be done with that story. -

Am I the only one that does this? It's not my fault I'm ADHD. I was halfway into three books recently. Children of Dune, The Wastelands, and one of the Wheel of Time novels, forget which. -
I still think this poll needs to be redone to include Shadows of the Empire!

Would one of the reasons be that since you're not a person and are instead a sentient program, you don't natively have fingers or a sense of touch?

I'm not sure. On one hand, an Xbox is cooler than a mount. On the other hand, the mount is apparently worth more if you buy the gold for it.

I'm going to say that Revan was the most mediocre. After he has his memory erased, the potential he displays shows just how much of a failure he was before he had his memory erased. All that power and intelligence, still was nearly killed by Malak and the Jedi. What a waste of potential he was. And then after all is said and done, he runs off to the end of the galaxy? Pansy.

I'm surprised to know that Chuck Norris supposedly writes for WND.

whats wrong with darth maul ?? He's all show and no go. His own arrogance did him in. Only after he did someone else in! That's at least a little bit of "go."

AMA to vote on "internet/video-game addiction" as medical condition

Obessive/Compulsive That's what I believe it to be. Obsessive Compulsive disorder is characterized by intrusive thoughts. -

It ultimately depends on whether or not you believe withdrawal symptoms are a necessary criteria for addiction. It would definitely be hard to diagnose, as most other addictions require multiple symptoms. Things like withdrawal, interference with other aspects of life, and spending way too much time in the search of a "fix." Computer games don't cause physical withdrawal and you don't need to go very much out of your way to play one. I think the sheer lack of possible symptoms for a diagnosis will prevent it from being accepted. I'll have to get out my DSM later and see what other criterias addictions typically share before I feel certain on that. But hey, if it does become classified as an addiction, I see plenty of jobs opening up for a psychologist and gamer such as myself. -
I know what you mean. Try applying for a job at your school. They won't mind the low experience. You may end up dishwashing, which I did for a semester, but it'll be work and experience.

Not all of us were born lucky as sentient AI, y'know. We actually have to move around and get jobs.

Wolves of the Calla - Stephen King Not as diligent in reading as I should be. I have a hard time finding free time lately.

I'm officially a college graduate. I have a BA in Psychology. Over the past few years I've worked temporary jobs doing data entry and accounting. I find myself considering what my next step is. The two main ideas that pop into my head are vigilante or efficiency expert. Vigilante seems really cool. I'd get to solve crimes ABOVE THE LAW and shoot people. Efficiency expert also sounds like it has its benefits, I could use my analytical mind, knowledge of people, and accounting to tell people what to do. I've considered going for the Bounty Hunter route, but I bet those jetpacks are expensive.
