I played the original demo and it was good, but not having weapons makes for a little too tense for me. If I can't point something at it and make it go away, I can't relax while playing the game.

Sounds like you played it overly safe. Moving around to different cover and exposing yourself to speed up the firefights was part of the game for me.

Gears of War was fun, but I also agree with much of what Pid says. It was fun until the first Berserker fight because the game was visceral and pretty intense. After that, I might as well have been just replaying the first part of the game over and over again. As for story. C'mon, this is EPIC. They named themselves EPIC. They don't do deep or thoughtful. They're pretty blunt. Their games are about explosions, loud noises, gunfire, big men, and yelling.

I'm seeing people misusing the word remake. The new Turok game is about as much a remake of an old Turok game as Neverwinter Nights 2 is a remake of Shadows of Undrentide. It's also terrible. I played the demo and it was terrible. The controls were bad, aiming was too imprecise for you to hit moving targets. The speed of the raptors combined with the inability to do anything of serious worth to prevent their attack means you spend half those fights just getting tossed around in between pot shots. The knife becomes the only worthwhile weapon there, practically, and you get tired of the animation for that fairly quick.

I just don't understand. Kira killed countless scores of people, subjugated and cowed the nations of the world, and even won the loyalty of countless more people while doing it. How.is.that.NOT.awesome? The fact that he's a psychopath who wanted to be god only makes it MORE AWESOME! Tragic characters, by contrast, aren't awesome. They're simply tragic.

You completely read way too much into his character. He never tried dressing it up as it being for other people. He just wanted to create his vision of a better world with him as its god. And with him as the god being the more important part of it.

It's not nearly as bad as Dragon Ball. They get some development in. Dragon Ball just spent 3 or 4 episodes yelling and glowing yellow sometimes. Bleach is following a Manga, so they can't get ahead and have to pace themselves. It's either this or filler.

Installan games! Installing Devil May Cry 4. Got tired of Amazon's delays in shipping the game, so I went and bought it at 10% off from Circuit City and got a free $10 gift card to boot. Now upon checking, Amazon won't let me cancel, so I'm about to own two copies of the CE. Time to figure out if I should return it or if I should use it for a contest on another forum.

Which is the more dangerous country? The one who has nukes or the one that doesn't? So, it's reasonable to say the country with the most nukes is the most dangerous country?

I'm an Obama fan. His ideas for change seem to be the most appealling to me. As an example, he's talked quite a bit about using the internet to allow the people of the US to see more about what is going on in the political process and potentially be involved. Not a chance in hell, but I like the spirit of it. It seems like the closest thing to political reform we're going to see this election. He also seems to have an eye on energy. I'm not sure how to feel about his stance on Iraq, but considering how long we've been there, I'm tempted to side with his stance.

I've got that beaten. I currently (all have been played in the last 48 hours) have games going in Super Mario Galaxy (61 stars and counting) Zack and Wiki (Just picked this up today) Command and Conquer 3 (Installed it again for my little brother and decided to take another run through myself) Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (On the last mission of the campaign. I absolutely hate AOE attacks) Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations (Also purchased today) Z&W and PW:T&T both had recent price drops so I figured now was as good a time as any to pick them up. :D I do that a lot. In fact, I almost put in Final Fantasy Tactics and Jeanne D'Arc as well, today. Only thing that stopped me was my vow to finish these older games before some newer ones.

I don't know I sure got a "but I don't wanna be king" vibe from him, while in the book he knew what he wanted and went and took it. Could just be me however. How is not wanting to be king "whiny?" Did he ever say "I DON'T WANT TO, DAD!" Even Bruce Campbell didn't want to save people from legions of the undead, but that doesn't make him a whiner.

This has to be a running gag in Hollywood. It really does. The next movie in production I hear about is not only going to have Christian Bale in yet another role, he's going to be every role in the movie.

Fudge! White Knight Chronicles is the game I'm second most excited about this year. It's right after Metal Gear Solid 4. Except the pauper is the white knight and his armor is basically a magical mecha. It's giving me a Legend of Dragoon meets Escaflowne feeling. Level-5 has proven to be a quality company, so I've got my hopes set high.

Plenty or horror games existed with partial 2D graphics. You even mention one yourself in this post.

I wasn't arguing with what you call it with that statement. I was more arguing against you claiming it has anything to do with "PC terms." My initial statement was wrong (at least in context), I'll admit that.
