  1. Oh go on, you know you want to. Multifarious avenues of approach vie for attention as potential retorts to immersion's ill-natured shenanigans. To organize my discussion, I suggest that we take one step back in the causal chain and rise to the challenge of thwarting immersion's snarky plans. If you can make any sense out immersion's dirty roorbacks then you must have gotten higher marks in school than I did. I don't just warrant that two wrongs don't make a right; I can back that up with facts. For instance, immersion doesn't use words for communication or for exchanging information. It uses them to disarm, to hypnotize, to mislead, and to deceive. Immersion's spokesmen coerce children into becoming activists willing to serve, promote, spy, and fight for immersion's opuscula. In this case, one cannot help but recall that we must overcome the fears that beset us every day of our lives. We must overcome the fear that it will spoon-feed us its pabulum. And to overcome these fears, we must lead the way to the future, not to the past. If immersion honestly believes that some of my points are not valid, I would love to get some specific feedback from it. Immersion's favorite tactic is known as "deceiving with the truth". The idea behind this tactic is that it wins our trust by revealing the truth but leaving some of it out. This makes us less likely to show you, as dispassionately as possible, what kind of birdbrained thoughts immersion is thinking about these days. Immersion preaches tolerance yet actively refuses to tolerate views that differ from its own. May we never forget this if we are to deny immersion and its buddies a chance to mollycoddle the worst kinds of disagreeable phonies I've ever seen.
  2. That's a fine system for RTS appraisal. I think more people should use my review systems. RTS will be judged by the cleavage featured in the FMVs. Movies will be judged by just how much worse than my life the character's lives are. (5 stars for Saving Private Ryan) FPS games use the Old Man Murray system, time until you see the first crate. Action adventure games must be judged by the mental instability of the protagonist. WRPGs get judged by how funny the evil options are. JRPGs get judged by the size of the villain's sword and how awesome his evil laugh is.
  3. I'm going to wait for YOUR FACE.
  4. If you're asking, is it possibly what the author's intent was when the Yuuzhan Vong were introduced, the answer is no. The Star Wars universe isn't planned nearly that thoroughly ahead. If you're asking, is it available for retcon,... sure, why not?
  5. Why would you do that? I thought we had something. Some special. I thought you loved me.

  6. My bad. But his writing for two of the best (except for Canderous) characters in KotOR was still vital for the overall package. He might be able to make time.
  7. No Kari Wuhrer, no care.
  8. That isn't some statement that was made a year ago or so and given time for them to change their minds. Criterion has said that this month. Don't try to overanalyze the list and what's included and what's not. Simply some things are included that are being worked on, some things are included that aren't being worked on. And some things are not included that fit into both those categories as well. What is and was not included is probably not of importance or the result of long thoughtful analysis and consideration.
  9. Yes, because those things need to touch on it directly. Why, I recall all the Revan references in Episode III clearly.
  10. Not really: Bioware's entries don't include stuff like Jade Empire - only things they are working on plus KOTOR, which they also may be working on. Criterion's includes Black. A game from 2006 that Criterion has said they're not making another of. Bioware's entries don't include stuff like Sonic RPG. A game they are most definitely working on. It's a non-comprehensive list of properties that the studios have been involved with or are working on. Though some of the games on there are definitely unreleased games and I'm not saying it's not possible.
  11. I thought it was a credible rumor until I saw Pop's image. This is just a list of title's that the studios have worked on, not what they're going to release or are currently working on.
  12. I wasn't disagreeing. I was mocking for such a shallow and useless answer. Though I think it was bad form to canonize either playthrough instead of simply establishing all playthroughs as valid.
  13. It's a pleasure to meet you, LucasArts.
  14. They learned from Halo 2 and Shadowrun flopping on the PC. And then the only excuse was Windows Live, which has since transitioned to XP. DX 10 is no excuse since 360 doesn't use it.
  15. And from what i've heard, it was about Bioware compromising between no load times (=texture pop-ups) and load times (= no texture pop-ups). This is due to the lack of HDD on the Xbox360 that made them stream the textures from the disc. With a HDD, there shouldn't be any problems, fortunately From what I've seen Bioshock on the PC also has it and a little bit of it appears in Gears of War PC.
  16. Get over the fact that they don't brand like you think they should.
  17. Or maybe you can get over it. Even timed exclusives often have such.
  18. It's only pathetic if you think it is. I'm not much different, but I hate being around people. I don't "chicken out" about going out, I just recall getting annoyed every single time I did. I just can't be buggered. Annoying, loud, smelly bar? Or... VIDYA GAMES!
  19. Oftentimes when people speak of "exclusive" they mean console exclusive.
  20. How is light Revan canon?
  21. I can run Gears of War and Bioshock just fine. So I have little fear here.
  22. *pets the kitty*

  23. TV, movies, and news are all political fronts, why should video games be exempt? At least they're being open about it.
  24. You're talking to a guy who firmly believes that nearly any argument about "immersion" is, on its face, reaching. I understand the concept and the goal, but as it is commonly presented (as distinct from simply engrossing), it is nonsense. And I really shouldn't go into that schpiel.
