I've decided that I now want to play a zombie outbreak strategy/SIM game. One where you are the president of the US. A zombie outbreak occurs in a random location in the world. You must use your intelligence gather resources to tell where it's coming from and how fast it's spreading. Then you must set up emergency plans to protect your own people, combat the threat, prevent it from spreading, evacuation, economy, maintain infrastructure, etc. Or hell, give me a mode in Civ where zombie outbreaks can occur. Edit: Heck, why just zombies? Any sort of sci-fi outbreak! That would make it more complex. Maybe it's an alien virus and if you nuke it, it spreads faster! You don't know what it is at first, it could be anything.

I've got 3 of them. Only 2 currently work, though.

After reviewing this thread, I can fully conclude that everyone here will die except Rosbjerg. He'll only survive by pushing down women and children to make it to the boat. Tarna will probably be patient zero with all the weird crap hoarded.

Reading up, apparently Aerie gets really pissy with quite a few people. Man, I need to reconsider my group just so I can see some of this stuff.

MGS2 PC was a DVD-Rom only game back when most still had CD options. Like MGS2 on the Xbox, it had relatively poor sales compared to the PS2 game. Which is why 3 was PS2 exclusive.

Minsc and Edwin get to fighting in BG2 as well. I must have completely missed that. I've taken Minsc and Edwin every time I play.

Hell, even BG2 lacked that. Except for that one guy who really disliked Viconia.

Which is a-okay by me! This is making me want to start the game over so I can have Xzar and Jaheir come to blows instead of eventually dumping Xzar for Viconia. Then later, pick up Edwin, go let him kill Dynaheir, find Minsc, get him to join, and let him tag along until they come to blows and kill Minsc!

You can get Edwin and Minsc together. I'm fairly sure I've done it without cheating. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my hat (I'm not wearing one).

You'll find MGS1 has something of an anti-deterministic message. It was specifically that your life and what you're capable of isn't pre-ordained. Mostly specific to genetics, but Foxdie was a broader application of it. Yes.

Yeah, they directed Quinton Flynn to be too energetic. Also, everything sounds better when you have absolutely no familiarity with the subtleties of that language's inflections.

Keep in mind that this is as publisher or developer, so who knows how it's effected. Also note the MMO comment, but that sounds like Kotaku's speculation and not information from the sacked employees.

Baldur's Gate needs more crazy or even pseudo-neutral/evil responses. I just did the quest that Garrick joins with. Silphe wanted me to kill some guys, lied about why. I was given the option to go ahead and kill them or complain "We're not going to kill these men who are obviously innocent!" I just kind of wish there was a third option exactly like that second one, only with the additional "... for a measly 300 gold." 'cause, damnit, she's not paying me enough. I've got people offering me 5,000 gold for the head of a single bad guy. 300 for 3 not-bad guys just isn't going to cut it.

I actually have had instructors take their lessons from Wikipedia. It's fascinating some times. I personally always try to check the source before I cite it if I'm making an argument. But when someone simply has a question, it's a fine casual answer.

Well, if you at all care about being surprised by MGS4, try to stick to this forum and any other relatively small forums that you visit. Anything with a large impersonal membership will be bombarbed by serious spoilers over the next week. I've avoided all the most serious ones, though I do know two minor bits that don't bother me.

That was the one thing I hate about 3.

That was my complaint about Farcry that caused me to pass on Crysis. Not simply a lack of story, but an overall lack of soul. I felt that they left the design open, but with no respect for how the gameplay elements interact and the result. So many of the fights were just so terribly designed I can only imagine their developers threw monsters on a map, said "THIS IS COOL!" and called it a day. I'd wager they maybe tightened things up for Crysis, but I held no faith they could improve enouhto make something I could consider purchasing. I don't really mean to bring down a thread for people who actually enjoyed the games out of that studio. I apologize for it. I'll be hopeful for Warhead. I'd like to be able to share in finding these games good. Maybe they'll do something in this one that can please me while no alienating their normal fans.

Excellent! I was waiting for someone to slander it before me. To break the ice a little. And so I wouldn't feel like I started it. Crytek sucks.
