  1. Combining ADnD with 4th ed? Not without a crowbar, semtex and a ****load of ducttape. The crowbar and semtex are just for flair.
  2. You like it? I only heard bad things about episode 1, so I never bothered. Maybe I'll check it out tomorrow or this weekend.
  3. I'm having trouble contact Bioware servers. hmm. Bioware.com, masseffect.com, dragonage.com, and social.bioware all time out on me. But I can ping them and tracert all but social.bioware.com. Dragon Age's game client doesn't recognize me as connected to the internet. :/ Swtor.com works, so it seems mainly sites that end up resolving as x.bioware.com and the game servers. But it's only me.
  4. I'm tempted by this. I normally wouldn't bat an eye, but I took a chance on Red Dead Redemption and liked it. Anyone know the particular studio? Edit: Apparently it's a studio called Team Bondi. I'll just have to remember to check out the reviews.
  5. It would be nice if all that left-over data in the demo was fake and was put in by BioWare on purpose just to rattle their fanbase even more. It doesn't even have to be fake. It could be cut content. Like people going "Hey look, Kotor 2 has a droid plant and Atton loses his arms!" It's not that bad. Having an approachable difficulty curve isn't some big offense. What's the real complaint? I tend to find lots of elements of LCD are actually not half bad. Unless you're specifically desiring roguelikes with the plot of Memento. And there are particular elements of Bioware games I extremely doubt are the product of LCD that I don't exactly favor (romances are LCD?), so I don't buy that the entire game is designed around it.
  6. There's a prequel novel? James Swallow... quite a number of licensed works, Star Trek, Warhammer 40k, Stargate. novelization of Butterfly Effect? I'm skeptical. Was it good? How's the writing style?
  7. I can't fathom how anyone can like enemies that rush into killboxes. It wasn't fun, it wasn't challenging, it was just hitting the ability that let you fire without overheating and holding the trigger. whoooooooooo Husks may charge at you in ME2, but at least they no longer have those long tube corridors. And the Husks either end up coming from multiple directions or get paired in a group with stronger enemies.
  8. Mass Effect 2 actually made me like Mass Effect 1 less. Given that I used to hate Mass Effect with the power of a thousand exploding suns, that's saying something. Because at least the enemies of Mass Effect 2 don't blindly rush down corridors at you.
  9. So, interesting thing happened. I'm playing Mass Effect... and I'm slightly enjoying it. Now, all my old complaints still stand. But they're not annoying me as much right now.
  10. You don't even need a new account. The Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age account should be your EA account. Your Warhammer account may or may not be, I do not recall.
  11. I'm caught in that "I bought too many games a couple of months ago, so why am I playing even older games I've already played before" situation.
  12. I like my grey hair! I'll be damned if I color it away.
  13. But Fallout is sci-fi that's not in space.
  14. So an unsatisfying ending and repetitive level design seem common to reviews. I'm surprised we haven't heard more along the lines of that one reviewer who felt the game was the best attempt at producing cause and effect. I want to be hopeful for that. Still 10/10 for the fighting system is enough to make me giddy.
  15. This is good to know.
  16. I helped my mother buy a car today. And some guy with the softest hands I'd ever shaken, so that it felt like holding a baby, mistook me for a 40 something just because I have grey hair.
  17. Back to Mass Effect 1. Turned off the film grain and motion blur and the game now looks decent. I'm leaving the citadel at about 3 hours in. And this game loves screwing with my desktop resolution on exit. *middle finger*
  18. Your face. I'm not ugly, I'm a satire of ugly.
  19. Just imagine the logo three clown software could have, though.
  20. What's a parody?
  21. 10 point difference is almost meaningless when they're not released in the same time period. These scores aren't objectively quantified. They're heavily influenced by their surroundings. What it means is "I did not enjoy DA2 now as much as I enjoyed DAO then." That's the best it can mean.
  22. I have it, but haven't made time for it in a little while.
  23. Where can I find out more about this "Sauron won" idea?
  24. 85 is a good score.
  25. What's an ideal level to start the DLC? I don't even have any of my old saves so I'm going to be doing a new game soon.
