I'm of the opinion that it's an ok game, not gonna go blowing any minds away. But it's VERY obviously based entirely on co-op, just single player makes you feel a bit to overwhelmed in firefights sometimes. I never feel overwhelmed. Except the one Goliath fight so far. It's clearly a cover shooter. But in the first person. It's a concept I'm not sure works very well. In the likes of Mass Effect 2, Gears of War, or Uncharted, when you're stuck behind cover, you still see when enemies get themselves out of cover. Level 1 of FEAR 3 felt like peek-a-boo. Popping my head out to see if they're still there. It does seem co-op centered, nonetheless. And I'm hoping that's where it shines. Fettel may make peek-a-boo less of a problem.

Got a little DS3 in, then remembered I had to finish FEAR 2. Got that and Reborn done and spent a few hours with FEAR 3. FEAR 3... Don't know what to say. Maybe I'll report back tomorrow after I've slept. It's not a bad game. I'm undecided as to if it's a good game, however. It's definitely a game!

I never find comparing review scores to be very informative. Unless they're coming out in the same month from the same publication. Opinions vary with time and not necessarily always in the same direction. I just take them on their own. But saying that, I'm not intimate with the review industry. They may have ways of eliminating the fluctuating biases and making sure their scores are clear and objective. But I'll be skeptical about that.

My understanding is this unlocks the empowered version.

That's what it was like when I worked at Ensemble. Only it was often 12 hour days and no blow jobs. But we did get some massages and old scotch. It's left me with a skewed view of everything that came after.

My Dungeon Siege 3 shipped an hour ago. Good luck meeting release date, Amazon! I wish FEAR 3 had a preload. It's supposedly releasing in four hours, if the counter is accurate.

I don't believe there is preload. But Europe got it on Friday.

Saw Conan. Both Barbarian and Destroyer. I liked Barbarian more. Also saw the Falling Skies premier. Not really a movie, but I don't think it deserves its own thread. Two hours, they kill one alien. Not too exciting.

The yellow lights are save points. He's talking about Chapterhouses, like where you find Odo in the demo. I think the teleporter is probably that dragon arch.

In related news, now available for pre-order from Steam (10% off). Amazon.com is still the better deal ($20 credit and 3" comic). Steam also has all previous FEAR games on sale as a bundle. I have no familiarity with Day One's games, but my impulse won't let me pass on the finale. And the whole Point Man/Fettel teamup, while getting to play as Fettel. Hopefully it'll be good.

Yeah, I haven't heard any outcry of complaints from the fanbase with regards to Madness Returns (I have it, but have been playing the original). But that might simply be because it's not popular enough to troll.

One review mentioned pressing the left stick to pick up everything in an area. Unless that reviewer was mistaken, I'd suspect that function to be available on the PC as well.

Have you played any Reinhart without your friend? I'm wondering how well he works with the AI supporting you. I want to play him as a ranged character, on normal, letting the AI do some approximation of tanking. Does your Hardcore play provide any insight?

Comes across more positive than I expected of the score. Has some Reinhart info I was unaware of. He's got a dead zone between his regular attacks.
