  1. End of old thread. I had to get a cat to stop chewing on my shoelaces. It's a never ending journey. I even bought him shoelaces just for him to play with. He prefers my boots.
  2. Past 500. Starting new thread.
  3. Your wife is an amateur. Crack the legs with your hands, takes a second.
  4. Isn't that pretty standard for software? Companies don't want to have to compete with their own employees. Or risk employees taking ideas from the job, expanding them in their free time. Or have employees passively sabotage current projects so they can sell an improved product they made on their own.
  5. You say that like it's a bad thing!
  6. Oooh, Tale loves the game. What do you love about it? What about the SP was excellent? I think I primarily enjoy the mix of TPS and hack and slash. Open fire on an incoming horde, then when the magazine empties, start slashing right into them. If things get bad, switch on fury. Or switch to a melta. Or dodge out of the way, try to regen armor/reload. It ends up just feeling like a sword and gun wielding badass taking on hordes of orks. Or Chaos Space Marines. There's something about dodging plasma fire to bash a guy's head in with a hammer. Difficulty is a mixed bag. Expect deaths that you can only attribute to "too much **** is going on for me to really pay attention to." Likeseveral rocket launcher orks firing on you while you're stuck in a melee. Or other range dependent fights while you only bothered to equip for power hammer. But at the opposite end, you've got moments in the game where you're equipped with assault packs and power hammers. Literally nothing will stop you. For however much I love it, there's several people around here who felt it was repetitive. I can't stress trying the demo enough.
  7. A motion comic of the first issue was with the augmented edition. I don't see how it can fit into the game at all. At what point did Jensen have time to make a trip to South America? Also, the motion comic was a grand total of 9 minutes long. Is that how short a comic book issue is these days? Is that new or is my memory bad?
  8. I absolutely love the game. The multiplayer is okay. It's tacked-on, but has some fun going on similar to War for Cybertron. I'll enjoy it for a week or two until it dies. The singleplayer I thought was the excellent part. I feel the demo was really representative. So, if you liked or disliked that, it should give you an idea on how you'll feel.
  9. I'll be. I didn't scroll down far enough to see that he does have game writing credits.
  10. Very doubtful. He's a book author, he doesn't do game writing. And none of his ideas from Icarus Effect are in Deus Ex. He created several original characters, at least 3, reused a Deus Ex 1 character, and they're not even mentioned in passing in the game.
  11. No. The game was written by Mary DeMarle.
  12. From what I recall, the book actually makes the three mooks much less two-dimensional and fleshes out that mercenary group. I read it less than a month ago. Barret and Fedorava are expanded upon not at all. Namir is given the silly characterization of missing a dead sister. As if it's relevant at all.
  13. Quoted for Truth and Wisdom re: the Space Marine demo. I'll cut both of you!
  14. Why did nobody tell me a Hard Reset demo was available? Edit: And I did not enjoy the demo.
  15. Hard Reset so far looks like it's following in the Serious Sam/Painkiller footsteps. I can't get excited about it. Also known as Poe's Law.
  16. *puts on bib*
  17. The game can be schizophrenic with the "no cover" thing. Yeah, there's definitely no formal cover system. But there's a few points in the game where you're encouraged to hide behind something. This may be a loadout problem, though. Power hammer limits you to bolter and pistol, so you won't have access to any of the powerful long range weapons. You can tear people up at close range, but they can pin you down at long. And those Orks with rocket launchers.... This made me take a hide, regen shield, pop out and take potshots strategy at times. If I'd used the Lascannon or Stalker Bolter, I might have had a better time with those encounters.
  18. His annunciation is very unnatural. I mean, he's pronouncing the words themselves fine, but it's very... is rigid the right word? Monotone? Maybe that's it.
  19. Finished fighting FOR THE EMPERAH! Now maybe I'll do it some more, but online.
  20. That's not a flying car.
  21. No ****. There's only so much Halo you can take before realising there's better stuff out there. I wonder if Microsoft will ever realise this before rendering the Halo franchise completely irrelevant. It took me a minute to figure out why I remembered that name. Metal Gear Solid 4.
  22. FOR THE EMPERAH!
  23. My foot is doing better. The wound is sore, but it definitely is healing. What's he talking about? What wound? I'm glad you asked. About Thursday of last week, I sat in my chair at my computer. Noticed a wheel was on the headset cord so, without really getting up, I lifted the chair and moved it off. Setting a wheel straight on my foot with my full weight. No serious damage, no broken bones. Just some really torn up skin in an area the size of the wheel on a office chair. Makes walking in shoes uncomfortable, because the shoe rubs against it causing minor pain. Again, nothing serious, but it looks gnarly. I guess the top skin only died yesterday. It's been red for the past week, turned yellow yesterday, and scabbed today. This is important info that everyone must be aware of.
