  1. No ****. There's only so much Halo you can take before realising there's better stuff out there. I wonder if Microsoft will ever realise this before rendering the Halo franchise completely irrelevant. It took me a minute to figure out why I remembered that name. Metal Gear Solid 4.
  2. FOR THE EMPERAH!
  3. My foot is doing better. The wound is sore, but it definitely is healing. What's he talking about? What wound? I'm glad you asked. About Thursday of last week, I sat in my chair at my computer. Noticed a wheel was on the headset cord so, without really getting up, I lifted the chair and moved it off. Setting a wheel straight on my foot with my full weight. No serious damage, no broken bones. Just some really torn up skin in an area the size of the wheel on a office chair. Makes walking in shoes uncomfortable, because the shoe rubs against it causing minor pain. Again, nothing serious, but it looks gnarly. I guess the top skin only died yesterday. It's been red for the past week, turned yellow yesterday, and scabbed today. This is important info that everyone must be aware of.
  4. They revealed it early.
  5. Dang. I need to try that out, but can't make time for it. Pun not intended.
  6. What's the difference between a Bad Company game and a "real" BF game anyways? They all look the same to me. Bad Company were developed with consoles as the primary platform and given a single player campaign.
  7. Don't need heavy. Stun gun or 10mm + 1 emp grenade.
  8. I think part of it is that they decided to give XP awards to make up for the fact that stealth players may not go around killing everyone on the map and may actually avoid most enemies. The fact that going stealth AND taking down everyone on the map is yet better, is simply acceptable consequence. This does not explain the lethal/non-lethal disparity, however.
  9. I actually really really enjoyed the Space Marine demo. I'm going to have to seriously consider getting this.
  10. It's roughly between pitiful and barely-adequate. I guess if you're going for that type of stealth, there's more use for it. I think I used the tranq rifle in a single room in the entire game and that was my extent of sniping. Fair enough, though, if you're not looking to sneak by tiptoeing past everyone at wedgie distance. I made it through using takedowns more than anything else. So I undervalue sniping.
  11. The game feels like it penalizes you for going lethal, so there's not a whole lot of reason to do it if you're playing stealth. I still managed a few times, when I didn't want to wait for my stun gun to reload.
  12. And stun gun can solve most single takedown situations. However, the takedown is more reliable and yields more experience. There are even a few encounters in the game with something like three enemies in close proximity. So the takedown + tranq/stun extends to them with double takedown.
  13. I have a theory on that. I suspect that part of the subjectivity is a labeling issue. The physiological response between two people can be identical, but they may label it differently. One would call it tension, the other could call it fear. I'd be very interested in seeing research on this subject. Now, there is still room for subjectivity, nontheless. Some people may not get either tense or afraid. Or have managed behaviors that overcome it, such as comfortable savescumming.
  14. Also, anyone want to discuss the endings? These are real spoilers following, not my usual fake ones. But I do try to be vague.
  15. The thing is that there is, sometimes, more than one "right" dialogue. The guy in the precinct has at least two outcomes that lead to him letting you roam the station. But you might not know about the other without the aug. Also, the convince option doesn't come up at all without the aug. And that can yield new information and outcomes.
  16. I think voicing opinions would be an NDA violation. Maybe, maybe not, but I don't care to risk it.
  17. Finished Human Revolution. I should try out the Space Marine demo, tonight, before going back to .
  18. My condolences to your family.
  19. Leads to a camera shot of adam in a storage pod. Dated Sunday 4:28:something. ARG is done. Now to see if it means we wait until Sunday to get an actual announcement. http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1378/3crsbcjcie.jpg Some suspicion that it might be linked to Icarus Effect. The BSAXO reference on the 13311tower.com site. But nothing substantial.
  20. The most recent development is there's a wav file hidden in the source for that page. It's morse code and translates to 11M13CLINIC when read backwards, gibberish forwards. Or something close to that. Does not lead to a new site, no idea what to do with it.
  21. It also seemed to be a take on Chinese electronic snooping.
  22. I've been playing and DX:HR. Beat the second boss last night. Definitely gives it a MGS vibe, but it could have done without them.
  23. Did you know that Jensen has three B.S.es? All in Criminal Science.
  24. I don't know what they used before lightsabers, but these were the first lightsabers.
  25. I don't see how it'd make you a powerhouse. I'm not saying unlimited energy or fast recharging. The last battery is simply far superior to all other batteries. Meaning there's no reason to buy more batteries. You can just chow on power bars instead if you absolutely can't wait for the recharge. Which is a corner case, most of the time. The most common ability to use battery on is the takedown. But using takedown when you have more than one battery full is a waste of a battery, since it kills that battery, that would have been better used on another power that might still allow regen. It either needs all batteries to regen, but to take longer, much longer, or to allow takedowns to not kill the entire battery, so it can recover from infrequent use.
