  1. The weapon one looks interesting. Unique Anti-Materiel, Nuka-Cola sign.
  2. Not playing it, but might be this weekend. I was apparently chosen for The Old Republic beta testing. It was in my spam folder. And that's pretty much all the NDA will allow me to say about it.
  3. Oh, this'll be fun. Is this going to be the moment that publishers realize they don't need Gamestop at all for new sales? Or will Square Enix cave because it turns out that they actually do? Anyway, I only just left Detroit for the next off-site mission. At 15 hours in! But that's counting my three replays of the first mission.
  4. Cutscenes is really the only way to do two at once.
  5. My associates think well of the Space Marine demo. Almost pre-ordered it on their recommendations alone. But I'll try to tear myself away from Metal Gear Solid 5: Bionic Snake to try it out.

    Hit 500. Starting a new thread. http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=58654
  8. Steam Guard just monitors what computers have logged in. VAC is the anti-cheat. Nobody outside of Valve actually knows how VAC works.
  9. To further torment our British and other European fellows, it's spoiler time!
  10. Spent all night playing Metal Gear Solid 5. And now I'm at work with bloodshot eyes drifting off at my desk. Have the same problem I always have with stealth games. I spend too much time savescumming, not enough time progressing. 5-6 hours and I beat one level. And I think I'll be replaying that whenever I next meet the criteria of being conscious and at home.

    BRB, investing in paper companies.
  12. Bugs aren't the only things that patches address. And some games never get patches. The concept of a patch changing the content of a game later on should be fairly irrelevant to the state of the game when the largest sales push occurs and people approaching it the least informed, the initial sales.
  13. Here's an interesting tidbit. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/reviews/2011...-revolution.ars
  14. You are now imagining Adam Jensen telling you to "turn right at the next intersection." http://www.next-gen.biz/reviews/deus-ex-hu...volution-review I don't really get into reviews, but these get entertaining in their own right sometimes. Anyway, seeing what I can find consensus on. They like the non-linearity, the choices and multiple paths. One guy complains that you will see the boundaries of the hubs, another says you won't. They disagree on how reactive it is. Jensen is grumpy. Plot is good. I only saw the one review really gush about it not handholding, but nobody is claiming that it does. The boss fights are the game's weakest moments. Some reviewers glance over it, some don't mention them at all, a couple feel that they really stand out as bad. One mentions that the best thing to do is forget they exist. So, it sounds like they'll be forgettable at best, terrible at worst. Impact depending upon sensitivity.
  15. Some reviews do contradict each other, though. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/31640...olution-review/ vs http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/08/22/70336/
  16. I like this http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/22/deus-ex-...olution-review/
  17. Maybe he's counting on that this time! A sort of "he knows you know he's trolling."
  18. That sounds like Namir, the Israeli.
  19. Which one is that? The three main villains are an American, an Israeli, and a Russian. The Russian is a woman, she almost never speaks. Definitely haven't seen it in a trailer. The reason I'm asking is because the American, who is supposed to have a Minnesotan accent, fits other "big Russian" tropes. And am wondering if you're confusing Minnesotan with a sort of thick artificial Russian. Or if there's a villain I've missed. The eyepatch guy? Is he supposed to be Russian?
  20. Read Icarus Effect over the weekend. Maybe it's my incessant need to dismantle things, but I felt like I could see the seams. Where they stitched together an original plot with ties to the game. The good part is that it doesn't seem you'll miss anything playing the game without reading the book. The bad part is that if you have read the book, you might expect references to the events, but I don't see that happening.
  21. The breakdown I'd expect is the first time someone gets drunk and vandalizes another guy's property. "You can't prove I did it." Then comes the escalation.
  22. I want a show of hands. Who does not own the original Deus Ex and does not mind using Steam? I have a (1, one, uno, ichi, ein) spare copy available to gift out. Be honest here. Let me know if you've never played it. Only played on PS2. Or you owned it, but lost the discs.
  23. Did we know about this? http://movies.ign.com/articles/118/1188867p1.html Blade Runner 2. Ridley Scott at the helm.
  24. I thought it was fun, but the way they handled the campaign plot was just strange. Like each campaign existed in a completely alternate universe. The changes in characterization between campaigns could not be explained by the player's actions. Mainly hurt coming off C&C 3 to that.
