  1. Rented and watched Night Watch last night. Plot was fairly good. I like it enough to want to rent Day Watch. The cinematography (I guess, it's what I'll blame) was wretched at times. But passable for the most part. They have very few action scenes, but they're impossible to follow.
  2. There was a sequel to Alice, recently. And a rerelease of the original with support for new resolutions.
  3. I wouldn't call it piracy. But it's still illegal. In the United States, it's a DMCA violation. As I understand it, there's similar laws in effect for all WIPO member countries. But I'm not a lawyer.
  4. Lucasarts was distributing a new pressing of KOTOR 2 not that long ago. You may even find it on shelves right now, in fact. So them having something against the game doesn't strike me as true. There may be some technical issues relating to it. Valve does turn down games, even from known publishers and franchises, on technical grounds. Just try to find the second Splinter Cell game. But 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all there.
  5. Maybe it's not a remake of Verhoeven's Starship Troopers. But a faithful adaption of Heinlein's.
  6. Finished Gemini Rue. Pretty good story. Has some silly pixelhunting and a bit too much backtracking. I don't think there's a logical reason to treat the toilet lid as distinct from the toilet if the toilet itself has no use. Given that it took me forever to figure out the lid is only a couple pixels higher and does have a use. Now to figure out what to play next. Top of the list are: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Dead Space 2 Catherine LA Noire Bastion Neverwinter Nights 2 Avadon The Black Fortress
  7. Saw Devil. Could have satisfied as a Sci-Fi original. Completely shallow cast, no development, and the only guy who we're remotely likely to give a flip about isn't in any danger at all.
  8. Just finished Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Seemed a cash-in installment. I was afraid Brotherhood was going to be that, but it ended up coming across as a sequel. It really pushed the story forward, introduced notably gameplay revisions. This one had hookblade and den management. That's about it. And nothing really added to the story.

Heck, I thought it a blast solo. And I generally don't go for loot driven games.
  10. Wow, I felt the complete opposite. It was really frustrating playing as Catwoman without the ability to zip up to rooftops and glide along. Grabbing the attention of every thug along the way. And no way to quickly escape from guys with guns.

I wanted to get the DLC for the 360, since that's where my save is. But this would save me some money.
  12. I always took it as leaning to the left.
  13. Catwoman is the new copy content. You know the industry trend to have content only available to new copy purchasers? That. If you buy used, then you have to pay more for it. Anyway, playing Assassin's Creed Revelations. Doesn't feel like there's much in improvement over Brotherhood. The den defense missions, hookblade, and more guild management don't hook me in it. Glad it's Ezio's last, they need major changes or refinements to sell me the next installment.
  14. There was a box? It was DVD case from the start here (KOTOR1 too). Also 4 Discs instead of 1 DVD even if it was totally the rule here in Europe. :/ The US move from boxes to DVD cases was only about the past year or two. I know ya'll have been doing it a lot longer.
  15. If the Game Informer cover is anything to go by, it'll have some significant fantasy themes. Though they may be using it as a platform to lampoon fantasy.
  16. Oh I get it, they take on fantasy character roles for some reason. The context makes sense for South Park, but I'm still not sure that's enough for me to be optimistic.
  17. Except you need magicka before that, so if you drop all your magicka cost, you're wasting investments. And the pieces that accept fortify school are also many of the same pieces that accept resist. And resist is nice. I found that -100% destruction, - 50% conjuration, and some resist was a good balance.
  18. She does put on the goggles in thief vision mode.
  19. I started doing that to the Dark Brotherhood. Complete main objective, fail optional, stab the questgiver after turning it in.
  20. Yeah, it seems there was a recent repress. With slim DVD cases as opposed to boxes.
  21. I stopped, not because I'm not enjoying it, but because I have other games to play. I started up Assassin's Creed: Revelations. And I've got Peace Walker to go through as well. I still want to get all the shouts, finish Dark Brotherhood, get the Windhelm house, do the civil war, and play a dead is dead Argonian Paladin named Does-The-Impossible.
  22. Backstabbed a dragon today. It didn't seem to realize what happened because it immediately took flight, circled around, crashed, THEN died.
  23. Oooh, I did not know that. I just killed her the moment she told me to kill the priest. But everyone seems to think I'm Namira's Champion anyway. The shopkeep had the option to say that I saw her at the banquet that never occured due to me killing the host. And some random encounter guy who was about to dine on a High Elf has a new home in a black soul gem. He thought I'd join in! Crazy people out there. Dear psychotic and apathetic "I'm just doing my job" denizens of Skyrim. I am not your friend. I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman! With swords. And lightning bolts.
