  1. Sincerely considering a restart. I've been playing a destruction/conjuration/illusion mage that sneaks alot and crafts just for the heck of it. Now I'm finding myself wishing I didn't have those points in illusion and had been crafting heavy armor and enchanting it for a real purpose.
  2. Well that's neat. Assassin's Creed Revelations arrived today. Apparently the PS3 version includes the original Assassin's Creed, so I now have two copies of that. It also came with a pair of red/green 3D glasses. I'll try it out, but I don't expect the 3D to be good. This is a good month. I don't have time for this game yet, but I'll get right to it when I take a lull in Skyrim. Then it's on to Metal Gear Solid HD Collection's Peace Walker. Never finished that on PSP. I'll say this for Konami, they do their LE packaging well.
  3. Others have reported unlimited mana. Seems to go away if your mana pool ever changes size again. My experience with the active effects is that there is no timer. What looks like a timer just tells the total duration, not remaining. I haven't experimented with this, so could easily be wrong.
  4. Azura's was boring, but has a really pretty set at the end. Just finished Sanguine's, which was superb. Started Molag Mal's, which I am unsure I will do, since it would be out of character for my Dunmer to offend Boethiah.
  5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA F'ing Markarth...
  6. What exactly is it (spoilerfree if possible) you think makes this one inferior to U2? Is U3 the conclusion of a trilogy, or will there be more games ahead? They're all pretty much standalone adventures. More Indiana Jones than Star wars. But with more recurring characters.
  7. Yet nobody seems to recognize the symptoms of. If a change makes a game easier, it's because console players can't handle difficulty. If a change makes a game harder, it's because console players need action all the time. If it's too simple, it's because console players are stupid. If it's more complex, then I'll break down each stage into a simpler form, then criticize them individually. If it looks good, console players only care about graphics. If it looks bad, consoles can't handle graphics. Basically, if you can think of a way to frame a change as an insult to someone (which is possible for everything), it's for console players. The active effects screen isn't even a big change from Oblivion. It's still listed under the magic panel. It just doesn't have a big icon next to each status. Apparently that was for console players. Somehow. I'm not sure. But I'd love to know the reasoning.
  8. It's funny. But if they'd gone the reverse path, had a text description under active effects in Oblivion, and gone to large icons or on-screen indicators in Skyrim, the exact same comment would have been made.
  9. Damn! Just damn! I really wanted to barge into Tullius's room and rip his face off . But I guess that won't happen so easily.
  10. This game has way too much too do. And I like almost all of the dungeons I've visited. I feel like I've done so much. I've got way too many shouts, level 26, am Archmage of the College, Thane of two holds, and am somewhat into the Companions series. But I've only really visited those two holds, and just walked into a third a few minutes ago. Only completed one major faction quest, and there's still more quests to do with it. And barely touched the main quest. I'm 40 hours in and I don't have any skill up to 70. I've got Assassin's Creed coming on Tuesday. I don't have time for all of this!
  11. Finished the College of Winterhold. I've only visited three cities so far, two of them holds, so that's really interesting. Unlike Oblivion, where you had to visit every city for the Mage's quest. Edit: Make that four cities, forgot Dawnstar. And I apparently lost track of two hours on the final few missions. I looked at my clock expecting to see 2 am. It's 4:30.
  12. Finally started a guild quest line. I keep wanting to run through barrows, but
  13. I wish they could frame all UI elements as magic spells.
  14. Heck, even with the compass I find myself using Clairvoyance a lot. Those mountains are a bloody maze.
  15. I had one crash yesterday. That's the worst I can say after 7.7 hours of play. The best I can say is "WHEE, REANIMATED CORPSES, DO MY BIDDING."
  16. One word: fury. I had a problem encounter earlier. Room was being watched over by a mage. If I engaged, the mage would run, grab a higher level enemy, and I'd have a bad fight on my hand. If I furied the mage, it would run and fight the higher level enemy, and I'd never be bothered by either of them.
  17. Those who went to High Hrothgar, anyone else encounter a Frost Troll? Took me about 10 minutes and 20 potions to take him down.
  18. "Destruction magic's okay, just don't set the inn on fire." The reactivity is kind of neat. Anyone found anything to do with Nirnroot? I ended up eating the first one I found, figuring it was just a regular ingredient this time around. But then the second time I found one, I realize it has its own environmental sound cue.
  19. And here I thought they just had a vbulletin exploit on the forum. :/
  20. A regular wired Xbox 360 controller will (or at least in XP) require a driver. The driver can be acquired from windows update once the controller is plugged in.
  21. Maybe it's like Oblivion's lockpicking minigame. That is an offense to mouse cursors everywhere.
  22. It's supposed to be by local time. A few regions seem to be missing on that. I've heard that Singapore should have unlocked earlier, but hasn't. And I'm still not clear on if US is all unlocking at the same time or by time zone.
  23. I think that Rybicki Maneuver article was a good one. I tend to side with "ignore scores, read the content," but it makes a good argument for why even that is flawed.
  24. Please tell me that the famous "Bangers and Mash" of english cuisine is not sausages on top of mashed potatoes.
  25. I'm sorry that people feel to objectify their subjective preferences so that I'm a **** for liking x and y, even when I don't even think that one is better than the other. Kind of like I don''t think that Natalie Portman is better than Chris Evans, but I'd still only like to have sex with her. I don't recall anyone pretending their preference was objective. What I have noted is that you have descended into mockery (the sonic boom/falcon punch comment). It's sort of like "hey, have I mentioned that I think dragon shouts are silly today?" We got it, man. Let's move on. Let us let go.
