  1. I was able to use two weapons from the favorites menu during a short period when I used Honed Falmer Swords. But when I started using Daedric Sword (Legendary) it broke. If you've done it before and it ceases to work later, it may be related to the specific items used.
  2. There's just too much. I've already capped Enchanting, Smithing, Conjuring, and Destruction. So I'm running around beating people up with swords now. But I haven't done Thieves, Dark Brotherhood, or finished the main quest.
  3. Tale

    STEAM!

Should I get Sam & Max complete... I mean, I have all the games. But I have two seasons on Steam, two from Telltale. It'd be nice to have them all in one spot.
  4. I don't care about Mandalorians. I rolled a space cowboy. Imperial Agent would probably have a plot more to my liking. But I can't be interested in TOR again after Tattooine.
  5. It's funny, but I'm playing the Bounty Hunter in beta because I know it is the last class I would want to really play in an MMO. And while the story has been engaging enough to this point, there are still some things about being all about the benjamins that rub me the wrong way. I was sincerely hoping the BH plot would relate to the greater conflict in at least some way. But it's completely irrelevant. It's a contest. I recognize that's just my preference. A lot of people are playing the Bounty Hunter class for things like The Great Hunt and to play characters after fame and fortune. But I was hoping to be able to play a mercenary for the Sith. They're not even involved in the class plot, except they hire you for petty things on rare occasion.
  6. I'm less annoyed that companions are forced on you than the method of this particular one's acquisition. I didn't care that I had to team up with Mako even though the motivation was lacking. But this guy. THIS GUY.
  7. I won't be getting the game. I haven't touched it in what seems like months at this point. And I'd like to say why. I want to avoid hyperbole, so this is going to take a while for me to edit in. The game hit me in a very bad spot, but I want to filter out the emotion. Maybe I'll just stick to the facts. Bounty Hunter quest on Tattooine. You're sent to kill a target, naturally. You chase him around, seem to find an opportunity or two to catch him early, and he escapes. You get to the end of the line on the planet and you catch him again. I thought to myself "finally get to kill this bleep." I would like you to guess what happens next. Did you guess that he escapes again? Not quite. I think I could have been content with that. You help him. You are forced to help him fake his death and he joins you as a companion. There is no other choice. What kind of plotline forces a Bounty Hunter character to defraud his employer? It might not have been so bad if the circumstances weren't so forced. A clone is involved. And you have to kill it instead of the guy you're supposed to. It was around this time that my initial beta session ended. They were going to update the client, do a new round with fresh characters. Could not be bothered to log back in with that to look forward to. Or even the entire concept that represents. It's a denial of a more than reasonable player choice, the desire to do the character's job when they have the opportunity and ability to do so. Computer games and their writers can not be expected to predict and account for all player options. They can't even implement all of the reasonable ones in all circumstances. But the option they force the player to take in this instance does not strike me as a reasonable one. I realized something a while back about RPGs. To write or design an RPG well, they have to be able to DM well. If a DM pulled that in a tabletop game, nobody would ever return. And the DM would have extra dice lodged in his face.
  8. End of old thread. That reminds me of a skiing trip I went on. Rode with family so didn't have a car of my own. Went walking one day to get lunch and passed by a bus stop that was completely covered in snow. Ground to roof. You couldn't actually get in the bus stop. I am so tired today. I think I need more coffee. I can't even post in threads correctly.
  9. This thread has reached a ripe old postcount. Starting up a new one. New thread.
  10. How did you get such a high %? It seems no matter what I do, my enchantments are always really weak. I'm still low level though, I guess I just need a really high skill, lots of perks, and better soul gems? As a side note, is there reason to wear armor on mages or not? Yes. I have > 80 skill and all the relevant perks. And I still used a potion that improved enchanting, otherwise I would only be at 92%. Keep in mind it took 4 enchants, one ring, one necklace, armor, and helm. 24% each. Being able to wear armor is the big benefit of enchanting for mages. I can't say the armor is helping a whole heck of a lot, I rarely get hit. But it's a nice precaution.
  11. 96% destruction mana reduction on Legendary Daedric Armor. My current strongest spell is an AOE that costs 4 mana. I am level 32. I think I might need to turn the difficulty up now.
  12. That's mana regen. Which doesn't seem to work in combat.
  13. My new character feels a bit overpowered. I've enchanted 75% mana reduction on my Orcish Armor (Flawless). It just seems a bit overkill for level 22.
  14. I'm pretty sure I finished it twice. I don't even remember angst, but I hate him. He had no personality and all the character development was rushed. But aside from that, the ending is not the judge of a plot or characters. They must be enjoyable throughout.
  15. Paralyze is alteration, as I recall. Chameleon has been replaced with muffle.
  16. Illusion is a really good school. It just sucks that it takes 90 skill before it's useful in most dungeons. Over half the dungeons I've fought in were against undead. The Dremora Lord in late Conjuration beats out everything else, so I can accept not having Illusion.
  17. Sincerely considering a restart. I've been playing a destruction/conjuration/illusion mage that sneaks alot and crafts just for the heck of it. Now I'm finding myself wishing I didn't have those points in illusion and had been crafting heavy armor and enchanting it for a real purpose.
  18. Well that's neat. Assassin's Creed Revelations arrived today. Apparently the PS3 version includes the original Assassin's Creed, so I now have two copies of that. It also came with a pair of red/green 3D glasses. I'll try it out, but I don't expect the 3D to be good. This is a good month. I don't have time for this game yet, but I'll get right to it when I take a lull in Skyrim. Then it's on to Metal Gear Solid HD Collection's Peace Walker. Never finished that on PSP. I'll say this for Konami, they do their LE packaging well.
  19. Others have reported unlimited mana. Seems to go away if your mana pool ever changes size again. My experience with the active effects is that there is no timer. What looks like a timer just tells the total duration, not remaining. I haven't experimented with this, so could easily be wrong.
  20. Azura's was boring, but has a really pretty set at the end. Just finished Sanguine's, which was superb. Started Molag Mal's, which I am unsure I will do, since it would be out of character for my Dunmer to offend Boethiah.
  21. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA F'ing Markarth...
  22. What exactly is it (spoilerfree if possible) you think makes this one inferior to U2? Is U3 the conclusion of a trilogy, or will there be more games ahead? They're all pretty much standalone adventures. More Indiana Jones than Star wars. But with more recurring characters.
  23. Yet nobody seems to recognize the symptoms of. If a change makes a game easier, it's because console players can't handle difficulty. If a change makes a game harder, it's because console players need action all the time. If it's too simple, it's because console players are stupid. If it's more complex, then I'll break down each stage into a simpler form, then criticize them individually. If it looks good, console players only care about graphics. If it looks bad, consoles can't handle graphics. Basically, if you can think of a way to frame a change as an insult to someone (which is possible for everything), it's for console players. The active effects screen isn't even a big change from Oblivion. It's still listed under the magic panel. It just doesn't have a big icon next to each status. Apparently that was for console players. Somehow. I'm not sure. But I'd love to know the reasoning.
  24. It's funny. But if they'd gone the reverse path, had a text description under active effects in Oblivion, and gone to large icons or on-screen indicators in Skyrim, the exact same comment would have been made.
  25. Damn! Just damn! I really wanted to barge into Tullius's room and rip his face off . But I guess that won't happen so easily.
