Jedi Academy is better in every way. Plus if you go dark side, you get to kick Kyle "Carth" Katarn's whiny ass. Ehh. I remember trying the demo out for Academy back in the day, and it felt too much the same as Outcast so I skipped it. But I'll be giving it a shot after I finish this play of Outcast.

Jedi Outcast Got to Nar Shadda. As is tradition, given that it's filled with snipers, bottomless pits, and platforming, quicksave/load is abused until I accidentally quicksave while falling. And quit the game.

The platforming is terrible. You can do third person on the lightsaber fights and that's not any good either. Outcast wasn't particularly better, since it always seemed completely random. There's no real feedback or control over it.

There's no disputing that god can't be disproven. At least, not the general one that shrinks away from all duties as other explanations come to be known. That is to say, Thor is no longer credited with lightning. But that's sort of the point. That which cannot be proven, that which is entirely in the realm of speculation with no measurable features, is completely indistinguishable from making **** up. It's Russell's Teapot. Yes, it's possible. It doesn't mean that all unproveable flights of imagination are therefore to go unquestioned.

Just finished Dark Forces 2. I'll be honest, I cheated through half of the game. It stopped being fun pretty early.

I just heard a spoiler for Bounty Hunter that sounds like I wanted the class to be. Why does it have to wait until Chapter 3?

Solipsism isn't as attractive as it once was. Or maybe it was never attractive. But it's definitely a strawman if you're bringing it up to others that argue for proof. The world you interact with is a valid one, even if it can't be ultimately proven beyond solipsistic doubt. But its characteristics within the context can be examined.

But again the Atheist has the better position. It is logcial after all to demand proof of an on the face of it pretty outrageous claim. More logical certainly than to propose erecting an invisible wall between the imperical and the metaphysical and demanding that they not be allowed to affect one another. It's not a perfectly balanced dichotomy. One side is cheating by proposing that it need only supply anecdotal evidence of its existence. But Rosbjerg seems more intent on the value of the discussion. And I would agree with his point in respect to the participants. Faith and skepticism lack commonalities to appeal to each other. As for other witnesses to the exchange, that is another matter. For which it is hard to make a general case.

The Katarina-Lucas relationship being seemingly glossed over did end up surprising me. I doubted if the characters even knew, or if it was just supposed to be us knowing something behind the scenes.

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 Hoooooooooo. I like to think of myself as oldschool. "I was there, man!" I mean, I call FPS games DOOM clones. But... I was not there for this. That whole generation of early 3D enemies around Quake. I missed that whole shebang. And this game makes that abundantly clear. It's completely alien to me. Quake had just come out, but I couldn't play it, then Quake 2, Jedi Knight, even both System Shock games. I only came back to PC gaming in 2000, while Half-Life was still king and Deus Ex was just coming out. And it makes me ashamed. :'( That four year gap

So far, the biggest difficulty for me is, that you can't assign favourite spells to quick keys (at least, I haven't found such an option). I've been putting myself on fire while healing goblins and killed myself by spontaneous forcefield creation that catapulted me through the air out into the ocean. Fancy robes or not, wizards swims like rocks If either of you two are looking for co-op buddies, I might know a guy. And by "a guy," I mean "I am desperate for people to play this with."

BH story was one part gameshow and one part Unknown Rival. Could have made for a very funny joke, but I think they were serious. I think the guy whose pants were in a knot was supposed to be important. He was a recurring character and everything. Even killed my mentor of 5 minutes. Don't remember what his problem was. And then there was Tattooine.

Bounty Hunter

I guess I fall into the disliking MMOs in general category. I've played a few, enjoyed them, but I make a point not to commit to them and usually only last a couple of months. Combat was nice. It was faster than wow. It was good for an MMORPG, but not enough to draw me itself. The story I strain to discuss without spewing bile. It wasn't good and I'd encountered worse, but then it just hit a button that I couldn't stand. I understand my low opinion will be a minority.

By default, wireless 360 controllers do not come with a charge cord or rechargeable batteries. You have to buy a "plug and play kit" for that. Some controllers may be packaged with a plug and play kit, but you'll have to double check.

Are we dead yet? No? Obviously my Wild Mage isn't standing directly behind the entire group enough. Or right in the middle. I'm flexible.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. I'll be skipping Battlefield games until they bring something back that interesting. The only modern one I played was Bad Company 2, but that seems sufficient to get all I wanted out of the style. Finished The Next Big Thing yesterday. Started off okay, got weak in the middle, then ended especially well. Also finished Dark Forces 1 yesterday. So I'll be trying Dark Forces 2 tonight.

Star Wars: Dark Forces If I ever find the guy who thought DOOM clones and platforming mixed... Actually the platforming isn't bad. It's not fun, but I don't fall too often.
