Where's Naasitaq?
Tarlonniel replied to Skazz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
One of the first things I did was sail around looking for Naasitaq. Darn it, I wanted to meet Sagani again. -
Unfortunately, there's no way in-game to push the queen in that direction, and unlike the other factions, there's no one you can support in her stead. There's nothing in the Huana ending slides about a movement to address the major problems with their society. I guess you can hope they'll fix it eventually, but you can hope the same thing about the other factions.

Well whaddya know - I killed Aeldys early in the game and Furrante had vanished from Dunnage when I returned to take him out. But One-Eyed Pim just showed up to the conclave at the palace after Ashen Maw. Very interesting. Unfortunately, I also seem to have borked the VTC quest chain. Ah well! Edit: Didn't get the Pim ending, though, I got the Furrante one.

Possible endings...

Good question. According to this page, it all has to do with who the "strongest" opposition party to your chosen faction is. But how do you strengthen factions? -

For all those who are stuck, the Unity mod on Nexus now has a dialogue debugging option. Folks have managed to fix some other broken quests in their games with it - might be worth a shot. -
According to Eothas, modern animancers are already very close to the skill level of the ancient Engwithans (not sure if I buy that, but it's what he said), so giving them access to the machine isn't throwing them into something too far beyond their present understanding or capabilities. My favorite ending is VTC + Castol + asking Eothas to help people find inspiration in the future. It sounds like such an exciting world to live in.

I don't know if you take an actual approval hit, but he's certainly pissed at you. I like that you have to play a character a certain way to get a companion's approval. I think that's exactly as it should be. The game doesn't gate romances by gender, race, etc., it gates by behavior instead. And as I mentioned, there is a rivalmance! I haven't played to the end on the rivalmance track because of the bug, but I'm curious to see how the ending slides turn out.

Choosing diplomatic/benevolent options will get his approval up very quickly, as others mentioned. My benevolent/diplomatic/honest Watcher had him at +2 so fast it made my head spin If you joke around, you just have to be careful of the context - sometimes he's fine with it, sometimes not (the mod really helps show the difference). By the way, you can also start a romance with him by getting to -2. At the moment It only works in games where Iselmyr is still around, but that seems to be a bug.

I posted the method on another thread. It goes roughly like this: install Castol as director, but don't join the VTC for the endgame. Instead, go talk to the RDC and tell them you won't assassinate the queen. Kill them all when they attack you. Then go talk to the Huana, who will give you their assistance without asking you to do anything else.

Yep, they ask you to wipe out the slavers as part of their faction quests. -
I loved the sea shanties, and the music in general. I barely noticed the music in the first game - I don't remember a single bit of it now - but I find myself humming bits of this soundtrack at work. Great job.
