We don't have much context from that video though, it sounded like the kind of cheesy one-liner you'd find in a tv show like Star Trek to me which may fit the game perfectly.

The guy in yellow is genetically modified. Everyone you gene mod gets that suit and the different armours you equip look like slightly shinier versions of it. If you haven't tried genetically modifying or meching out your troops yet you're in for a treat. I'm doing both so I can only afford the basics of each type even in the late game but they're both very effective additions. One of the early'ish genetic upgrades forces your soldiers to be critically wounded the first time they hit 0 health per battle allowing you to revive them (and extends the timer to 5 turns), it's also fairly cheap so obviously it saves you a lot of heartache and frustration. The mech suits are just pure fun although you absolutely must not use them like tanks when you first get them.

Well it had to happen eventually. I mean they're old games, you can't make new old games so you're going to run out of a large supply of old games that are good that haven't appeared yet on Good Old Games. Nowadays it's just good games that gradually become good old games trickling onto Good Old Games while we're busy playing good new games, some of which feel like old games because old games are the new new games.

If the battle of the worlds comes down to a naming contest then it's true we're in serious trouble.

Ouch! There go half of my best troops. I'm still not 100% but I think I divided my forces needlessly defending a beacon *and* a relay when Exalt can apparently only capture one after the other? Either way, I hate rocket launchers.

It's actually a little complicated sorting out the Ender series. After Ender's Game the series split into two parallel series, both entirely different genres to the original and each other (one was a drama with Mormon overtones and the other was a kind of Bourne trilogy/Tom Clancy hybrid), and although I haven't read the later ones, both of those series wrapped up their main threads and seemed set to converge again after the third or fourth book in each set. There were also a bunch of one-offs and short stories. It grew into quite a franchise.

I'm pretty sure the new expansion already includes slingshot and the appearance pack.

I haven't experienced any bugs that would do that yet in EW, the only bugs I've had are a couple of crashes and occasionally after giving a soldier an order the game doesn't execute it and becomes stuck in spectator mode, forcing me to close the program down and reload. I've been playing classic ironman with all the second wave options turned on and all the dlc council missions. I've actually successfully completed all three sling-shot missions this run. Not touched the meld research yet but I have laser rifles and carapace armour so I guess I'll be trying those next.

Any suggestions on a good CO-OP/Multiplayer RPG Game?
Serrano replied to Failedlegend's topic in Computer and Console
I owned those games for like ten years and this is the first time I've ever heard of them being co-op. The sad thing is, now I've looked it up, it turns out it's true. Menus eh, who ever reads those things?- 27 replies

The multiplayer matchmaking is working now and it makes it easy to get a session going if that appeals to you. Beamdog also made an arena combat module called the Black Pits which is great for just diving in with other players and killing monsters. The interface, spellbooks and journals are more user-friendly in EE as well. I'm not saying a modded BG series isn't the best option for some people but the EE version is much less hassle (now) and both options have their own unique perks and drawbacks. BG2 will cost about £20 in the UK, which I'd agree is steep, but then again I suppose you can't go much lower without finding it difficult to justify the time and energy than went into EE in the first place.

It looks nice but unless you get all the teams included in chaos edition surely it's going to step back in terms of gameplay? Do many people care enough about the graphics that they're willing to buy another (4th time for many BB players) copy of a game they basically own already? I've answered my own question haven't I?

To be fair I think virtually everyone picked Samara and missed that particular story arc.

Damn those groupies and their STDs.
