Zombie arms, they're real!

I honestly don't understand this. Not a criticism by any means, but I can't understand how people still find stuff they missed even after they've played NV a few times already. Is it a case of me metagaming or something? Every play through, I find and complete all the quests. The only exception are when you have different factions and you can choose one side or the other. But even in those cases, I'll usually complete that quest's alternate paths in no more than 3 or 4 play throughs. Most people don't get every quest in a game like NV, that game is massive. They burn out on the gameplay, don't like to use walkthroughs and miss stuff or a new game gets released and they move on. They're wired differently so, much like I will never understand the people who collect all the feathers in Assassin's Creed, you'll probably never see a game like NV quite the way those people do and vice-versa.

That's just depressing then and I echo the sentiment of "What the hell were they thinking".

Probably something like, "This isn't ready yet but we need to ship it". Did they ever say how much work was lost with that whole dark space ending being leaked and needing to be re-done?

For those playing it, is Blackguard basically finished now or is there still quite a lot of work to do and content to impliment?

I was woken up today with a phonecall that started with; "Hello, did you know you were supposed to be at work today"? Well no, no I didn't. I wish when they changed the rotas at the last minuet, and it's quite possible that one of the managers did it yesterday when I was off, that they'd actually tell us rather than assume we'd just know.

clicking all the white icons on the screen != solving puzzles clicking through dialogue != playing a game walking from one screen to the next != exploration clicking through a QTE != combat It's not that different from a point and click adventure game really although TWD obviously doesn't want people to get stuck on anything since the story is the focus. Does it matter whether it's a game or not though? That's just a label, a lot of people clearly enjoy the product.

I've always thought the writing in Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain was really strong, it's just that it's always so obvious when they've had to cut things during development and there's a very visible chunk of the story missing. And the shower scenes of course.

They're all great games but I think Unbound was my favourite, you can't beat the banter between Lauren and Joey.

I just finished Act 1 of Broken Age and I enjoyed it a lot. It only lasted three hours and the puzzles were easy but it's a great script with a lot of good jokes and it does feel like the old Lucas Arts adventure games.

Yes, kind of. The QTEs are so easy though you have to deliberately fail them. I think the idea is to make you feel like you're struggling a little more than if you were just watching it happen, rather than to challenge or risk frustrating the player.

I haven't "decided" that it's going to be a bad game or anything but once I heard the basic pitch of the story and saw the artwork I did think that this probably isn't going to be the adventure game I was hoping for. It looks and sounds like something aimed for young children which is weird because I'd have thought most people kickstarting something that wouldn't be out for a year+, based on the credentials of someone who's great works were like fifteen or twenty years ago would be adults. Fingers crossed though. I actually think that the documentary will be the thing that made this project worthwhile in the end (Not financially) because it has been very informative and entertaining and generally what they said it would be. But it would be interesting to see how much that sells for separately regardless of how well the games do.

I've been listening to "Warbound: Book 3 of the Grimnoir Chronicles". It's got a bit of everything, superpowers, magic, zombies, demons, ninjas, samurai, pirates, a 1940's style detective as the lead character, humour, drama, horror, a mystery, a war, just to name a few. It's kind of like a novelization of Shadowrun except in a prohibition era setting rather than a futuristic one. Terrific books, I love them.
