  1. Is the second Burial at Sea episode out yet and if not when is it expected?
  2. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag the text adventure
  3. I thought the steam announcement said both but I can't load the store page to check it either, guess it hasn't turned yet. That said, they incorporated all of the L4D campaigns into L4D2 (minus most of the banter between the characters) so you only really need L4D2 anyway.
  4. Valve made Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 free yesterday, for a limited time. If you hurry you may still be able to get them, they're great co-op games.
  5. He probably meant that LC posted about Boone a lot, and he fears another wave of hot male NPC appreciation.
  6. Free FTL expansion out soon, new race, ship configs and weapons being added
  7. More importantly, who, on this forum of all places, doesn't already own KotOR2? I think he meant the steam forum but I did read it as the Obs board first off as well.
  8. That's kind of messed up - having to buy DLC to really enjoy the franchise. Smh. You can enjoy vanilla Dishonoured just fine, I've not played the DLC which may well be better, but the core game's missions are all fun to play.
  9. I was about to say that it's probably not as bad as it sounds but remembering some of the things they've done in the show it might actually be worse.
  10. I got some pork spare ribs and duck pancakes with hoisin sauce over the weekend, just took them out of the fridge and spotted "Cook from frozen, do not refreeze after defrosting" on the package. I put them in the oven anyway. If I post a lot tomorrow, or never again, you all know this was a bad decision.
  11. Anyone played The Bureau: XCOM Declassified? How long should I expect it to last and is it worth the sale price?
  12. I'm quite hyped after seeing the Spider-Man trailer, more action, woo! And the Gwen Stacy and Peter's parents story arcs could be really entertaining and something to actually differentiate it with the Toby Macguire movies. Not so thrilled with Harry Osborn though, they do realise the Green Goblin isn't supposed to be an actual goblin right?
  13. Heh, did you know Michael Biehn refuses to watch Alien 3, because he felt that Hicks deserved a much better death sequence? Something along the lines that for all the effort he put into shaping the character in Aliens, there shouldn't have been some glossed over "panning shot of Hicks with chest exploded" as the end of that character. Well he was sodding well right. Biehn/Hicks would have been a very interesting person to throw into the mix of the prison colony. Hicks would have probably ruined a lot of the things Alien 3 had going for it imo, he'd carry too much authority and Ripley and Hicks together would be too capable in that situation, the prisoners would be more dangerous than the alien itself and they were trying to go back to the series' roots. I liked Alien 3, I think that the series as a whole would have been better if they'd gone with a different script but Alien 3 was a good movie. It's Resurrection that grinds my gears.

Didn't know it, but not surprised by it. Cameron also thought 3 was disrespectful to the characters last I heard. The one thing I really don't like about this script is it's all Hicks. Ripley's in a coma then shoved into a lifepod. That's it. Sigourney Weaver didn't want to do another alien movie at various points in the series, I think that script was from when the studio were looking for ideas to go on without her. Everyone thinks they should have kept Bishop and Hicks alive, I'm one of those people but they aren't actually very well developed characters, they just made an impact (as did Burk and pretty much every single colonial marine apart form Wierzbowski and Crowe) which is still impressive when you consider how little screen time they got in Aliens but they've been built up a lot more than they deserve over the years. My younger self is screaming at me for saying that but I stand by it.
  15. For me, the day that Donna Air stopped presenting MTV was the day that music died.
  16. I beat Enemy Within on Classic with all of the initial second wave options turned on, so today I started an impossible run with all the available new second wave options on as well. after completing the second mission and looking at funding overview and engineering costs I think that this may actually be impossible (at least if you get unlucky combinations with the randomised council funding?) it costs 460 credits to build the first satellite, this cost increases each time you build one, although obviously more engineers also lower the cost. I'm getting a +92 credit balance at the moment because upon completing my first alien abduction, despite all three options being at 0 panic level, the two I didn't select are now maxed out and will leave at the end of the month. My personal panic level is somewhat high and I think that I'm about to withdraw from the council too, assuming there still is a council at the end of month 1 and try to pick and choose second wave options rather than running them all at once. I shudder to think what it would be like with the impossible unlocks added to the mix but I am hoping to find a combination that will keep the endgame challenging without making the first half infuriating or insurmountable.
  17. Do you mean the comic sequel 2000AD are doing? The first one is called Judge Dredd: Underbelly , if it follows the plan they had for the movie trilogy then Underbelly will be Dredd's origin. I think it will be a good comic but a poor substitute for what the movies could have been.
  18. The Dead State demo is out in January.
  19. It's a roguelike so luck is intended to be a big factor and the game is weighted towards being difficult/neigh impossible. The idea is to create replayability, tension, a greater sense of accomplishment when you win and a much bigger sense of reward when something good happens. In this case that involves what ways you can equip your ship. If you're always getting murderized by the scouts then you need a rough idea of what changes you need to make to your ship to survive them and also beat the last boss and then spend every playthrough working towards that. I know that's obvious and probably sounds snarky but that is the core element of the genre of game you're playing and it's supposed to be that frustraiting. It's why I don't play FTL much . No no, I get it, I have experience with roguelikes. But consistently, over six playthroughs, I have gone through the game without trouble and getting fully upgraded. For example, on my last ship, I had good weapons, good drone systems, stealth, full shields, upgraded engines, enough crew to have expendables and more than enough resources. In the second to last area, I could pretty much kill any enemy I came across in one or two volleys. Then in the end game, the first enemy I encounter gets me or turns me into a limping wreck. I find it hard to believe that six times I have had luck throughout the entire game and bad luck in the end. Just seems like the difficulty curve is terribly balanced. It makes trying again seem kinda pointless. Sorry for making assumptions. I did find this, it won't help against the scouts (although Deraldin's advice probably will do the trick) but it has a lot of very detailed information on the final boss, full of spoilers though.
