  1. The music in the Icewind Dale games is fantastic. I prefer the BG games overall but there is something really appealing about Icewind Dale. I fancy going back to play it again now... I feel inspired! Never did complete ID2, that bloody Dragon's Eye bit is a complete nightmare when you're going back and forward through time.
  2. We can only wait and see. They probably would be finished fairly soon if they were not acquired by Microsoft. How many times can you keep doing a Kickstarter/FIG and keep people on the payroll?
  3. I would definitely buy... the digital version. Fair play to you guys but I can't stand hoarding junk in my house.
  4. Will there even be a PoE3? Surely this is up to Microsoft now.
  5. I have decided to take on Tekehu, i'd never actually picked up the character before and he is pretty cool. I like his boastful arrogance, he's like the Johnny Bravo of Eora.
  6. In Dragon Age: Awakening you could either carry on with your main character or make a new guy who had a different backstory from another part of the world or something. Something along that vein perhaps? From what I recall they do react differently to you if you're not playing as the hero of Fereldan.
  7. Nope, so far it's pretty great. It doesn't feel like a patch-in 8 months after release mode at all. I don't mean the turn based was half arsed, i mean it sounds like they only begrudgingly made the game RTWP in the first place!
  8. Both options = awesome Seems like some of you guys are getting pretty heated about the idea??? I will probably never play the turn based but fair play for putting it in, however it does sort of feel like the developers only half arsed putting it in RTWP by the sounds of it! They should have given it a full arsing.
  9. Well, it's still bloody downloading so.... yeah. Anyone tried it out or what? This is gonna take a while for me.
  10. The camera is a complete mess. Don't know what the hell they were thinking.
  11. This reminds me a bit of the Icewind Dale 2 manual. There was a little guide telling where to go/what to do for the first little part. That really helped me out when I was first getting into the game, was my first experience playing one of them types of games I had no clue what the hell to do without that.
  12. Hmm, that article has actually peaked my interest in it. You'd think they'd make a comment to their backers before PC gamer???
  13. I usually just barge in, knockdown and throw out a blessing from Xoti, missiles from Aloth, leave Serafen to do whatever he wants. What are some interesting spell/ability combinations? or SYNERGIES!
  14. Dark Souls 2 is a waste of time. Go play Demon's Souls if you have a PS3.
  15. Numenera? I haven't played it but wasn't it billed as a sequel to Planescape? But that was a disappointment to many. The Shadowrun games? Although Dragonfall was received very well. SHRUG
  16. Yeah it does get boring doing it over and over if you're trying different classes or whatever. You'd have thought Obsidian wouldn't have forgot the best improvement made to an RPG in Fallout New Vegas, having the game opening up pretty much immediately.
  17. I only found out recently that Germans (and maybe others) use .'s instead of ,'s for the 000 separator. It can be jarring seeing an invoice like that.
  18. OK Mary Sue was a bit much, but she's so naive and innocent... how's she such a good ighter and not stressed/bothered by anything? I can understand Aloth/Eder/Sarafen being pretty casual because Aloth and Eder have already seen so much, and I assume Sarafen isn't arsed because he's from a pirate background. Xoti is jus really happy go lucky then whinges about the odd dream. I'm sticking with her but she annoys me.
  19. It's an issue if you really want to play with full fledged party members and not just a bunch of people that are just there. I get the feeling that Obsidian simply hates priests. In the first game we have Durance who is such a dumb and annoying character that I just kill him every time I enter the area where you can pick him up. Xoti is no exception. She's also an idiot and possibly even more annoying because not only is she incredibly stupid, she has the most obnoxious accent and is fanatically religious. There is no way to like this character if you are of average intelligence or higher. And in beast of Winter we get a guy who spearheads a bunch of lunatics and looks like he died 5 times. I'm serious it's on purpose. They're all a bunch of deranged idiots. Durance was actually my favourite character in the first game. I mean he was a bit of an imbecile but I was endeared to him somewhat.
  20. My understanding is that a large part of the CURRENT popularity of the Souls games is their infamous challenge level. The Dark Souls games are still very much known as insanely challening, mechanically demanding games, and all the Souls-Like game are billed as much the same. Completing a Souls game is an achievement by the very nature of the games. Completing Deadfire, even on TOI POTD, isn't seen as as much of an achievement, because it's a knowledge based challenge, which really isn't regarded as impressively. I'm not honestly sure there can be too much comparison. Hmmm maybe accoring to unoriginal games journalists. But lets face it Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are a league ahead of 2 and 3. Because the latter have just latched onto the difficulty bollocks, not what actually made the games good. But i digress... what were we talking about?
  21. I am trying my darndest to like Xoti. I want a priest in my party and she is one. I think my issue is that she's a tough warrior but simultaneously a naive child. I have been rewatching Firefly recently and she KIND OF reminds me of Kayleigh, and i've beeng trying to look at her that way. However Kayleigh is a good mechanic but a pathetic fighter. Xoti is a Mary Sue. THOUGHTS? Tell me i'm overthinking it and just get on with it. I dunno what it is, I like Aerie in BG2 but Xoti just irks me.
  22. Yeah i'm pretty sure I bought BG1/2, Icewind Dale and Planescape Torment for about 5 quid each (3-4 dollars? 6 euro?) not they are charging 2-3 times that. I get it they had to put time/money into making the 'EE' versions but give people the option to get the original on its own. I feel like they are trying to erase the originals from history.
  23. I think something like Dark Souls is so popular not because of one aspect, but because it is more than the sum of it's parts. I think the IE games were like that.
