  1. I am not talking about the universe in general but our specific solar system. Since I do not know about the whole universe it would be silly to make such claims about it as a whole, so I am limiting to what I know, right here in our backyard, so to speak.
  2. That is do to the random firings of neurons and the changes in environmental effects in which your daughter is exposed to. To reason, to love, to have courage and to have strong familial bonds is not just seen in humans but also observed in other primate species. I suggest reading In the Shadow of Man by Jane Goodall.
  3. To just dismiss it as such would be silly in of itself. There is no way to accurately know the truth one way or another, but that much coincidence makes it statistically improbable.
  4. This isn't a British forum.
  5. Actually I disagree on there is no evidence of intelligent design. Think on this. We have a moon that had propelled us to seek a way to reach it, to motivate us to see what is there. On that moon there just happens to be ice, water that we can use for it is necessary for our survival. Next we have Mars, which just happens to be terraformable and also has a source of water. By the time we get to Mars we will need large amount of metals and ore to continue and Earth is a long ways away. We now have the asteroid belt to get raw materials from. Now by this time we need a more fuel and even more water to do deep space missions. Where do we go? Jupiter and its moons, which one of them has tons of water just happen to be available and the gas giant itself is a good source of fuel if we can collect it. Now is this all coincidence that this happened? Maybe, but I don't believe in coincidence.
  6. It is because you misspelled BELIEVE.
  7. Very few things have any level of certainty in the world of science. To take things as fact when nothing truly is, is a weakness.
  8. The Bible is not proof of creationism. It is an account of creationism based on conjecture and the understanding of the world and universe in the mindset of a primitive being who had no idea why it rained, why fire hurts, nor what causes him to get sick.
  9. Nothing is really original any more.
  10. This is what I think. There is a lot of scientific evidence of evolution, both micro and macro-evolution but at the same time I do not believe in chance nor coincidence. Everything has a reason, everything has a purpose. It may seem that I may get into the whole Intelligent Design thing but I am not. The bottom line we simply do not know the truth one way or another, and we may never know the truth of how we came to be so I don't see the point of worrying about it. What we do know and have control over is what we are doing now and where we go from here.
  11. The man should be put to death. This is the sort of thing why I am for full punishments, no parole for anyone, and pro-death penalty.

    FINALLY!

What sort of simulations if you don't mind me asking, Taks?
  13. Only 5%? That is pretty low for their population. I mean, last I heard they have at least 5 times the amount of citizens that we do.
  14. Just one more step towards cybernetics!
  15. Genesis gets it wrong though. God makes Adam out of dust. God makes Lilith out of dust. Tells them to have some fun in the garden. They can't decide who should be on top. Adam whines to God. Lilith leaves in disgust. God takes one of Adam's ribs. Adam cries. God makes Eve out of Adam's rib so Adam can have someone to complain to about Lilith. Adam and Eve gets it on and share an apple. God's boots them out of the garden in disgust and forms plan B. There is never a good Plan B. If it was a good plan it would have been Plan A.
  16. Wait. Isn't China a superpower?
  17. That I had a good derisive chuckle at Evanescence the first time their garish, ridiculous single "Bring Me to Life" turned up on the radio. In my mind, it seemed obvious that anyone with half a brain would find the song instantly unbearable due to its melodramatic, quasi-Christian airs. I was horrified and indignant to learn that people had actually found something to like about this band. "Don't worry," said their misguided supporters. "Not all of their songs have that retarded rapping guy." I was furthermore assured that much of their material was less reminiscent of Linkin Park with a female singer and more subtle and piano-driven. Their single, "My Immortal" seems to be an example of this style, although the nasal, crooning vocal sounds not like the work of a credible rock band but more like the self-produced vanity album of the girl who shakily squeezed out "Bridge over Troubled Water" at your high school graduation. Some of the more impressionable male Evanescence apologists even sought to convince me that the lead singer was hot. I suppose she's decent if you like ladies who walk that dangerous, razor-thin line between "obviously used to be fat" and "will probably be fat again very soon." It's also fairly bewildering to me that anything about this band could be misconstrued as "gothic" (as it somtimes is). She certainly doesn't have the advantage of being marginally hilarious like some of the other bands the media has mistakenly labeled as gothic, like Marilyn Manson. There is absolutely nothing mysterious or alluring about her voice; a careful observer would realize that a single such as "My Immortal" is nothing more than a vocally inept version of a dodgy pop ballad worthy of being a Christina Aguilera b-side. To call something so tame, boring and conventional "gothic" is an illustration of just how far our culture's standards have slipped. I'd imagine it takes every ounce of Peter Murphy's willpower just to get out of his coffin at dusk and face such a world. Interesting point, but I don't consider the band gothic, but I do think that she is better looking than most female singers, but not the hottest woman on airwaves (that would be Bjork ) though beauty is indeed the eye of the beholder. I like their music, but I do agree that Evanescence is definitely not "goth."
  18. Well, we did.
  19. I haven't been paying too much attention to it since it is on a platform I have no intention to owning. If it is suppose to be a supernatural ability then it is indeed magic and well that is too Star Warsy for me. I like to see some hard sci fi CRPG be released, not some lame arsed hybrid that has magic in it.
  20. Okay, then its magic.
  21. Bin Ladin and Paris Hilton should join forces when it comes making new tapes. I think they could be rather interesting.
  22. Man, I do not want yet another Star Wars game. Man, let that franchise die!
  23. But it doesn't use technology to do so.
