Wow, two films and one book? You better have a lie down. Man, if you'd watched both entire movies and read the whole book you'd probably be dead! Sex and romance are part of human relationships, and so far there aren't too many games that focus on relationships. Violence makes for much easier, and undoubtedly more popular, gameplay. It's got nothing to do with morality (and why American morality? It's not like the rest of the world is pumping out games about relationships), it's the lack of interest, or ability, to turn human relationships into gameplay.

Yeah, agreed...it was a silly game that was great to distract people, I didn't think the story or anything else was very well done or engaging. However, it didn't need to be because it was pure fun to find whatever weapons you can to use on the zombies. Playing Dead Rising just to kill zombies is like playing GTA just to drive around running people over. All fine and dandy if you're easily amused but it's gonna get old pretty quick. It's not just a choice between following the story or randomly killing zombies (the human psychopaths make for more interesting enemies anyway), for me the fun lies in attempting to rescue all the survivors, especially doing so while also completing the main missions.

That would be an upgrade, not a dumb down No, it would be a huge dumbing down. It wouldn't just make the game easier it would completely change the nature of it, removing the survival part of survival horror.

Running, climbing and jumping over rooftops was indeed fun. As was attempting to kill the target and then escape unseen. I actually enjoyed the combat and wasn't too bothered by the repetitive investigation quests. Unskippable dialogue was horrible though. I'd be pretty surprised if Eidos managed to steal the AC team from Ubisoft. Also, who broke Kaftan?

I hope they don't dumb it down for the PC audience by removing the time limit and adding save anywhere.

Unlimited ammo has been replaced by regenerating health.

A two part story over two episodes doesn't count as one episode. 6 episodes doesn't seem like enough, but then I have no idea how it's all going to end, and how much they're going to pack into the final episodes. ^ No, there's still only 6 left, the last one is just longer. It's not like an episode is defined as 45 minutes.

Comparisons with ME or GoW aren't just down to using the same engine.

Beats me, it was years ago I read this stuff. It's entirely possible it was all a dream. I'm fine with the mute protagonist, I had a problem with the fact that everyone acted like I was some totally awesome hero, but then treated me like the Doom marine. The characters were lame. The unoffensive female sidekick with a heart of gold. She's really into you, ya know, you'll love her. She's friends with a giant robot, how cool is that! Her dear old cripple token black guy dad with a heart of gold. The bumbling scientist with a heart of gold. He has a pet alien, but it's always getting into mischief. What a scamp! The buddy-cop-movie security guard friend, always there to help you out of a jam. His heart is made of pure gold. Anyone without a heart of gold is a bad guy, or a traitor.

Supposedly some other team is working on an episode 4 that will be a separate story, but this bit of info as well as the "episodes as HL3" thing are from so long ago who the hell knows what the deal is anymore.
